Pros Its not difficult to process payments and they are automatically reconciled Cons My Clover Flex machine will not work and I have been on hold and dealing with two different support agents now for TWO HOURS. This is ridiculous. Im am now on hold for a "Tier 2" support agent which I assume will be more nonsense and two agents already have no clue why my devise will not connect to the internet. Its fortunate that i can process payments via my computer but why did I pay $$$$ for this Clover Flex machine which has been nothing but problems and slow at connecting via someones modem or cell data. Customer service is great! You can easily add products, prices, and have your inventory. You can add other features like customer rewards and ID verification in the case you sell alcohol on your establishment. The processing of cards it's fast. You can add several users and manage their roles and permissions. The best part it is that you can view and check all from online. Cons I haven't found any cons up to now, the only thing is it will be better if when using it the taxes from certain products will remove automatically. Instead of doing it manually. It allows for tipping without our employees having to ask the customer if they wish to leave a tip. Cons I found it really difficult to use outside of our store location. We do specialty shows where we sell merchandise and if we didn't have a wifi connection a lot of times we could not get the payment to go through. Owner Food & Beverages Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "No accountability" September 15, 2021 1.0 Pros No issues until EBT/SNAP benefits were attempted to activate. Cons No accountability when there is a problem. Spent 11 days attempting to get EBT/SNAP benefits loaded on our POS, calling tech support daily. Tech support is outsourced to foreign countries, FYI. I asked for their location each time and the closest was Jamaica. On the 11th day, Clover shut down my ability to process any debit/credit card at 11:00, my busiest hour as they were working on the "back end" of the system to accept EBT. System was shut down for 43 minutes as I called customer service yet again. I had no other recourse but to give away all of the orders for free, if our customers did not have cash. As a small business owner, one's reputation is critical. Clover attempted to assassinate our character. We are meeting with other POS suppliers today. September 17, 2018 2.0 The reality is Clover Has one of the higher processing rates out of a huge pool of processing systems. Unfortunately, I thought it was a good idea when I started to process credit cards. Every statement I received I couldn't believe how much I was paying in fees. At least I had the common sense to call and get price quotes from other businesses. I am saving THOUSANDS a year after switching. It seems your paying a premium for a brand, nothing they offer is unusual for a processing system. Most other companies are comparable and have a better processing fee. The processing company I went with was Central Payment (thier customer service will work with you too!) Pros Easy to set up and integrate, fast processing speed, more apps than you will ever use. Unfortunately, that's all the good that comes out of this system Cons POOR customer service, Locked in for years (even if your company closes), THEY ARE NOT COST EFFECTIVE! Clover Go is very straight forward and does not operate in a shady manner like the rest of the industry. The software platform is easy and very useful. Pros Our Clover handheld devices are very easy to use for transactions. It is helpful to be able to sync different devices, so you can track sales on individual registers and as a whole. The integration with my website was beyond simple which is what I need running a 2 person business. Pros The ease of which I was able to set up an account for my business and integrated it into my website was astonishing. Most people think of clover as a POS system but I primarily use it on the back side of my website and needed the option for a mobile POS. They have it both. Cons The cost of equipment that is needed to use this software as a POS is a bit daunting. There are different levels of equipment, but they are all a little pricey. This way, it prevents multiple charges for the same transaction. Cons From a user perspective, there wasn't any glitch I noticed with the software. It allowed me to keep track of inventory and also hold bartenders accountable for their money. Pros The system was so simple to set up and it did all sales and cash and also keeps track of inventory which is a big concern in the bar industry. The online dashboard offers good reports. Cons Not very advanced You must pay extra for advanced functionalities and apps The clover station is a real piece of garbage. I have spent a ton of money to own one then it broke. The is no repair parts out there to get it fix. When I called clover, their only solution was to buy another one. For the price they make customers pay, these devices should be built to last. Mine barely worked for 2 years and the screen digitizer started malfunctioning. I can easily "check in" to wherever I'm at and earn points. I used it at a coffee shop by my house and it was so simple to check in, the barista could see me on the app and would give me a punch. Fast and secure credit/debit transactions. Pros Touch screen is great with the home screen with all my options. I never have to search to perform my tasks. Being able to pull up the information on my laptop when I am not at the store is wonderful to check on sales for that day. Customer service is one touch away so you don't have to wait on hold on the telephone. Cons I would like the software to have a training mode in order to train new employees on how to use. Even though it is super easy to use, it would be helpful to at least be able to show the new employees what to do and how to do it without actual customers waiting there while there transaction is being processed by a new person still in training. All in all, it's a great product that helps a lot any retail merchant. Cons Initial investment to be considered, both at the hardware device as well as the software integration/customization and SKU managemet. Cons Tracking transaction amount and customer name, unable to do a typical database search to tie the two together,IMPOSSIBLE. This is not a good system, not happy due to lack of tracking services. Pros While working at a local yogurt place. We used clover and it was great and easy. Convenient to customers and us workers the place is closed down now but it was great while it was up. When I have had questions, customer service has been super helpful with giving me step by step instructions that are easy to understand. Pros It is very user friendly. I love that I can take the hand held device into the exam room to check clients out. Cons It is not the easiest if you have to refund a client. You need to have the credit card on hand from them.
