Overall I can say that I love Clover. It is super easy to use and it definitely helps that you can use Tap To Pay with it since that it something that we as a society are seeing more and more nowadays. I will continue to use Clover and upgrade it for a long time and I definitely recommend it to every business!

Pros

I like that Clover is super easy to use and navigate. It keeps everything organized for you and it is quick for payment processing, financial management, sales, and inventory management! It has an amazing value for your money and the customer support is also a huge plus!

Cons

The only thing I could say that I dislike about it is only when we accidentally forget to put the device on the charger correctly because sometimes it can be tricky, and it does not always get charged, but that is mostly user error.

After dealing with terminals that would shut down or restart randomly or glitch and end up charging a client multiple times, Clover has been a huge, HUGE change for the better. Customer service has always been quick to help and they are always positive and pleasant to speak with. Clients comment all the time how quick and hassle less check out is and our older clients love how visible the screens are. I will always highly recommend using Clover.

Pros

There are so many things that I love about Clover, from the ease of use, the simple and quick payment processing with card payments, the instant and ready to help customer support and just over all financial management.

Cons

So far, there has been nothing about Clover that I do not like. I have used several other credit card terminals and online platforms that are subpar compared to Clover.

Overall I would never use it willingly. It’s awful and really doesn’t work for you. There are better options out there and they don’t charge you for information like clover does.

Pros

I liked that I could use clover to make production sheets for my staff but even that couldn’t be completely accurate due to clovers programming. It cannot convert ounces into pounds etc and you can’t use half numbers.

Cons

It is not intuitive for example when searching for something if spacing or capitalization is off it will not find the item. Also when entering inventory it will not let you use halves making things less accurate. It is a very clunky system and the running joke in the office was just hit refresh because clover will not update itself. It takes forever to enter data too unless you have them do it which they charge you for.

### "Embarrassing customer service"

As long as everything is going well, things are going well. The second anything goes wrong you can’t rely on customer service.

Pros

For the most part, the system works well for us. Clover was not able to do everything it promised us it would, but we have adjusted our practices to continue.

Cons

A duplicate charge caused by clover system during a service outage cannot be refunded—by me or by their support team. After spending a long time in chat, being told repeatedly the issue was resolved (it wasn’t), I was ultimately told nothing could be done. Meanwhile, my customer is double charged. This is unacceptable for a payment processor in 2026. Please provide a real solution other than mailing a check that’s embarrassing

A true lifesaver for a seamless payment process at events large and small. As an event planner, having this option on site has made on site event payments a breeze for clients and guests.

Pros

I am a private event planner and Clover has been a game changer! I'm able to use it at any venue, in any weather condition, indoors or outdoors, no matter the occasion! It's the perfect party accessory!

Cons

NO cons! It was super easy to learn and share with my team! They picked it up quickly and we used it for an event the very first day we got it!

### "Helpful software for retail clothing store"

Don’t see myself changing the system or hardware anytime soon. Satisfied with both and it gives the store a modern look compared to old registers.

Pros

It allows me to keep track of inventory and sales on a daily basis even when im away from the store. It also compares sales from a week before and months before.

Cons

When making a sale it will apply it to the person that is logged in but sometimes the sale is split and there is no way to put two employees.

### "Clover will not let you cancel despite multiple attempts "

bad service bad service unit failed and they did not replace failed unit I switched services and they kept charging me , It is impossible to cancel without supreme run around and they tried to phish me for more info to give me a bonus !))bucks for cancelling but i had to switch to another recorded line to give my bank info they already should have had

was recommended by a banker because it was less bad than others ,However she said it was more expensive

Cannot get customer service to help cancelling my Clover service fee even iI stopped using it 3 years ago and they put me on hold I was still charged monthly fee me Chat helper gives another phone number when you want to cancel, They cannot cancel (they still charge you )and cancellation attempts leads you to call center that wants to update your banking info so they can give you 100 $. bonus for cancelling Too sketchy and they still do not cancel ,

### "Loyalty Programs Buyer Beware"

The hard ware of the system, was nice. If you are a new business owner and you will not have a loyalty program then this will work for you. If you are a current business with a loyalty program THIS IS NOT THE POS FOR YOU.

Pros

The easy and look of the actual system, card reader, customer reader, receipt, and the sale screen was really nice and easy to work with. However I only work with it for 3 days, then I was DONE with Clover.

Cons

They lied. I spoke with a \[sensitive content hidden\] who are sales men for Clover. My questions where very straight forward (because I've been lied to in the past with other POS system sales men). I am already an established small business owner with over 7,000 customers in my loyalty program. I was looking for an up grade in systems BUT my customer had to transfer over to the new POS. They both told me, "yes" the customer will transfer over. However they FAILED to finish that sentence (I did not know until 3 days later) that yes, my customer would transfer over into an app that I can see all of them BUT they would not integrate or come up in Clover. AND all the new customers you get using Clover, will now become Clovers. You can not see their info, to send out emails or text message about your products. With in 3 days of hooking up this system and using them and trying to figure out why I could not bring up my existing customers. I called the help line and the 3rd person I talk to (who was really nice) told me the truth. They will not intergrade and you can not see your new customers. I stop using them that day. And it took over a month to get my money back.

My overall experience with this company is not good. They have been unhelpful very spiteful and no communication at all. Most of them can’t even speak English.

Still as not been out come Only thing I liked about the machine it was quick I don’t know what else to say about this company very unhappy with them

I have still not seen a deposit yet and they have lost my money. This is not acceptable very unhappy with this company.

My experience with Clover was generally positive in terms of usability and ease of training. However, the platform lacks important features compared to its competitors, and I’ve seen multiple clients migrate away from it. Unfortunately, I no longer recommend Clover to my clients as I once did.

Pros

I found Clover to be a relatively simple system to use, with an intuitive interface that makes staff training quick and easy.

Cons

Clover feels significantly behind its competitors. I used it with three different clients, and all of them eventually switched to other systems. It lacks many features that have already been standard in other platforms for quite some time.

Overall I like Clover better than other payment processors for value, ease of use, and ability to maintain mobile payments - but know that if you're using them across many stations, you will need early controls!

Pros

Clover is incredibly easy to use and intuitive based on other payment processors. It processes funds quickly, and is relatively easy to navigate sales through singular machines. Our clover machines move well across our campus.

Cons

Multiple clover machines can be difficult to navigate at the outset - especially when you get them over course of time. And as such, reporting internally on the machines can be skewed due to different machines being used simultaneously - that is NOT intuitive.

### "Waste of your money!!"

Clover has been the single worst decision I’ve made for my restaurant. Their system is a complete joke — it does NOT integrate with DoorDash or Uber Eats the way they claim. You can’t even change your prices or modifiers for those platforms, which is a critical part of surviving in the food industry. AND THEY ARE WITH HOLDING MY INFORMATION!

Pros

The customer app is the only good thing that clover has going for it. Other than the app, they are use less!

Cons

Clover is withholding MY customer rewards data. I’ve spent $800 over the last 8 months entering my customers’ info and rewards points into THEIR system. Now that I’m switching to Square, they REFUSE to release that information — MY information — like they somehow own

Pros

I like how Clover makes it easier to integrate with other 3rd party providers lets say with Uber, Doordash etc. Another thing I loved about Clover is how they has a very friendly, easy to use dashboard and a mobile app.

Cons

The synchronization issues between the Clover and the third party plugins was something we constantly faced issue with. Other than that, I love this product.

### "Dishonest and empty promises "

I’ve been with clover for 2 years and I sold my business and they told me I either have to refer someone to them or pay the 500$ penalty which I got them a customer and they told me I’m good to cancel without any penalty and apparently that person charged he’s mind and canceled with them and got charged 250$ and they changed their mind and told me I have to pay 500$ so not fair That was really bad for their reputation I don’t recommend clover at all

Pros

There was nothing to like about clover the only good thing was that they gave me the machine fast that’s it

Cons

The long contracts and the fact there is no one really fair to care for small businesses and also everyone has very strong accent and hard to understand

Positive experience. Ease of use. Good uou can activate sim card in case of power outage. Good support.

Pros

Very user friendly. Easy read screen. Easy to go back on payments and reprint. Good support if needed.

Cons

We can capture payment and redeem gift cards but cannot reprint receipt if customer takes both copies. Does not show under transactions. It does not show sales and redemption of gift cards on settlement report. Would be great if it was intergrated. Fyi we use Ackroo gift cards.

It has been an outstanding experience working with Clover. The ease-of-use alone and easy set up made it a perfect solution for my organization. It has also been a perfect way to offer customers the documentation they need to process transactions.

Pros

Clover is very easy to use and helps customers pay easily. It's also a great way to issue quick invoices to people when they owe us money.

Cons

It's a good product. I would say that I would like to be able to also accept payments in other currencies, should I have need to do so. Occasionally people want to give monetary gifts in other currencies, and that would be ideal.

I appreciate a lot of things about Clover. It is easy to use and you can find apps for most things might need. We don't typically have issues, but when we do it can be a pain to get things figured out.

Pros

I like the versatility of the layout on the screen. LOVE the Flex device which makes going to vendor events so much easier than using something that plugs into a phone or other device.

Cons

Not great customer service. It never feels like they can answer our questions when we have an issue. We hear "we've never seen this before" from them almost every time we have an issue. We also get TONS of phone calls from people who "work for Clover" but they don't. They have an app or they are a merchant service provider just trying to sell stuff but they always make it sound like it's something we have to do. It just feels sketch and is very annoying.

Works well as a basic POS platform but does not do what it claims it can do as far as inventory management. Has too many 3rd party apps needed at a cost that isn't worth the value of service it provides.

Pros

Easy setup, good looking equipment. Definitely a step up from tablets as far as dependability.

Cons

Doesn't actually have an inventory management or reporting that works for any size restaurant. Can only track cost of items, but nothing modified can be tracked. Throwing off cost by up to 30% and making the function completely useless. Does not allow online lunch menus to show up at specific times. Does not allow for specials or discounts to be applied to online ordering.

Not good. It was good for a while but the random cutting us off was unacceptable and demand for continued lease payments is exceptionally unacceptable.

Pros

There is absolutely nothing different about this processor except that are the only ones who ever ripped us off.

Cons

They randomly sent us a notification of stopping payment service. Kept our customers transactions and then expect us to finish paying on a lease of equipment we can no longer use. Horrible customer service, can randomly cut you off and keep your money?? not sure how this is not criminal, but will be reporting to the Attorney General of our state.

Extremely dissatisfied with both Elavon/Digitech and Clover

Pros

Once you get it figured out, it is relatively easy to use. An 85 year old woman does our debit/credit donations, and she had been able to get out working. There are some issues that she has had a hard time with, but it's easier for her to use the Clover than the Ingenico 500 that we previously had. Works like a cell phone with its icons and ease of use.

Cons

The customer service. I hadn't realized I had a contract with Elavon, which has higher fees, and we were considering changing services. Clover randomly called during that time, so I was convinced to switch, not realizing I would be paying for services for 2 machines for the past 4 months. A rep from Clover promised to have the cancellation fees taken care of work Elavon. I had quite a time with them, and am still stuck with their Ingenico machine and it's fees I have been unsuccessful in reaching the rep from Clover that was going to help me with this. I am extremely disappointed with both companies. My take away is that I need to be more careful in paying attention to what I sign up for before changing providers. My fault but at this point I would not recommend either of these companies.

Ran with them for about 4 years, and while they were my first POS system, they just weren't a fit for our restaurant, System rarely crashed, and you could rely on it to print almost every time

Pros

Its design - It's sleek, and modern looking - the flex portable payment system is also out of the world.

Cons

The inability to customize things to our shoppe- The system itself is great, but it isn't geared towards restaurants, more retail.
