Idea Central System Specialist Chemicals Used the software for: 2+ years ### "System Specialist" November 28, 2018 5.0 We use this tool for a few different reasons: 1) collecting ideas for collaboration - great for allowing threaded discussions with other users. 2) using the flash form has enabled users to use this tool for collecting ideas during various meetings and gives the opportunity for commenting on the ideas submitted. 3) Results Engine has proven useful for a few groups by putting their spreadsheets into this tool they can now run reports and see the information at a glance instead of scrolling through spreadsheet columns. Pros I like the fact that it is user friendly, it doesn't scare users to come in and submit ideas/comments or search for ideas. I also like the Results Engine module for the same user friendly experience, but with this it's so easy for the users to run reports that they can get their information how/when they need it. Also, the support team is quick to answer questions or problems. Cons I do not have any "cons" I've basically been able to manipulate Innovation Central and Results Engine to meet my companies needs and make it easy for the users. It would be very nice if there could be standardized reports created, that would contain a company logo and updated information monthly, instead of having to export a spreadsheet monthly and manipulating it to run graphs. Innovation Manager Utilities Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Hype Enterprise " January 5, 2017 4.0 We have used the Hype Enterprise version for over a year in our organization which spreads across Europe and has nearly 40,000 employees. We started to work with Hype innovation to enable our employees to fully engage with our innovation objectives and have an active platform on which to share their best ideas. Using the Hype software was also intended to provide internal innovation teams with an avenue to interact with employees and gather ideas to solve customer problems that had been highlighted. After out initial training period, we were able to confidently launch the software to a small group of users, and over a period of several months, we gradually increased our user base. This allowed us to better understand the tool and its full capability - which is very extensive - as well as ensure that we had the correct backend support to manage the software. The tool has many in-depth features, and broadly these can be identified as the front end, where contributors share ideas, comment and vote; and the back end, where ideas are turned into concepts and taken into the next stages of development. The front end is very intuitive and easy to use. This is great when you have thousands of employees that have access to it. The back end of the software is a little more complex and requires some detailed understanding and tutorials to utilize its full potential. This is where the support provided by Hype Innovation is particularly valuable and, I feel, absolutely necessary. With the support of Hype Innovation training courses and consultancy support, we were able to make the best use of the software to run effective campaigns, engage a broad range of colleagues and get the best ideas on the platform. This software is great for businesses who would like to engage with their employees to get the best ideas to help develop and grow the business. It does require dedicated resources to manage the platform and ensure all stakeholders and aligned and working towards a common goal with the platform. Pros It is easy to set up and easy to use both from an admin and from an user perspective. It is very clean and pleasant to look at and it's very intuitive. Adding ideas is quite easy and it has all the features we were looking for in terms of filtering ideas and engaging with ideas. Cons Some features can't really be customised. An example is the Impact assessment of the idea, which contains monetary/qualitative metrics only. The good thing is that due to Viima's good customer service, they always help us find a way around what doesn't suit us. It is the software behind our online innovation platform that allows every colleague to actively participate in innovation management. The implementation of the HYPE software only took 12 weeks from the first brainstorming's until the company wide launch of the HYPE platform and included the complete customization of the tool (mapping of our innovation management processes into the software, software configurations, design adaptions according to corporate CI, definition of user roles and access right, setup IT infrastructure and security). The basis for this was the outstanding flexibility of the software. The HYPE software is easy and intuitive to use so that users are instantly able to submit ideas, build on other ideas, and share comments and votes. There is no need for extensive trainings or documentations. This also applies to the administration of the software. Gamification features such as community graduation and discussions make the process fun and foster user engagement and acceptance of the whole innovation management initiative. Moreover, HYPE constantly develops and releases new features and designs, keeping the product fresh and in line with latest innovation management practices. If you're looking to solicit ideas from across your organization easily, manage the funnel of the best of those ideas (as picked by experts), and have people collaborate on those ideas, then you definitely should include Imaginatik's portal in your short list. The analytics and features for evaluating ideas are excellent. Licensing really varies in this space: Innovation Central is licensed by "instance," or how many concurrent challenges you can run, and is independent of the number of users. This works for some and not for others, and Imaginatik will likely work with you to help you find the model that works best for your organization. Customization of what it does -- as a crowdsourcing tool -- is good. It's not amazing but it doesn't pretend to be, either. There's only so much you can, or even \*should\* do with a SaaS tool; keep this in mind! Cons Expanding its use beyond what it is intended to do is very difficult. For example, if you'd also want to manage the running of a hackathon within the tool, that's not going to be an easy thing to do. You can manage portfolios of work, there is some blogging, and other features as well, which it does an 'adequate job' doing but nothing like the outstanding work and effort they've put into the crowdsourcing and analysis. No training is required for a user to figure out how to use the platform, the administration is very straightforward, and the set of manuals that cover absolutely everything are very well written and up to date. The software is the perfect solution, with loads of bolt-on modules for a truly configurable environment, for any company that needs an Innovation Management solution. Cons I find it very difficult to say anything negative about this software due to the fact that I have had such a pleasant experience. Cons The bubble are fun and colourful, it is not always clear why they keep changing position and the filter system is not always very visible.
