### "The Best Vector Based Design Software "

December 1, 2020

5.0

I use Illustrator daily to create cool vector designs because I need the highest resolution to print them on a lot of things and with Illustrator I really get the things done and I'm always happy with the results. I think Adobe Illustrator is the best Vector and Design software in the market right now and after using it for many years I never had any problems and I always get the work done. Adobe is an amazing company, and I'm sure they will keep improving this software and adding some useful tools and features.

Pros

It's very easy to use, and you can create anything from scratch, you need just some designing or drawing knowledge, and you are good to go. It comes with a lot of useful design tools, filters, and effects...etc. I can create anything using Adobe Illustrator and the sky is the limit. I can also, use it to create topography designs for many things (shirts, wall art, business cards, text)...etc. I like adobe stock and the library of graphics, images, videos, and templates. Also, the drawing app is great, and It allows me to draw on top of any picture using different elements and colors. Fast rendering especially for the biggest resolution of 300 DPI. I like the shortcuts and this gives us a fantastic option to save time doing our creative work on Adobe Illustrator. It allows me to use my files saved in Dropbox without downloading them because I can browse them from Illustrator. I can open many PDF files and use them as a vector and I can convert any picture/image to a vector with simple steps. The best thing about Illustrator is you can use Photoshop files and InDesign files without any problem and you can edit them too with it. Also, Creative Cloud is an amazing deal and you can get access to a lot of cool stuff. Adobe website has a lot of free resources about how to use Adobe Illustrator and about everything related to design and creativity.

Cons

I would love to see the crop tool in Illustrator like in Photoshop. They can add some Photoshop tools to Illustrator for example "remove background" tool. But, after all, they are doing a great job and always I get a new version I really feel the change they made to the program.

### "Illustrator,el poder del diseño vectorial"

May 4, 2023

5.0

Reason for choosing Adobe Illustrator

C'est un logiciel facile d'utilisation et il est très facile de trouver des tutoriels en ligne facilitant sa prise en main.

### "Many tools in one"

April 2, 2020

4.0

In general I find this application very practical in the sense of the quality of the result and the ease in grouping and ungrouping elements, creating hierarchies and joining effects. It makes it very easy to grab assets from stores, disassemble, combine and create others. As I create Apps and Games, I see an enormous facility to work this in memory quickly, even in large projects. I miss the application allowing to return to a certain part of the effects set, change a parameter and repeat the whole stack. Example: you add a rectangle, move 30 degrees and change to red. You cannot go back to the first action, change from 30 to 15 degrees and repeat the rest. I don't know if any tools have this, but coming from programming tools with batch scripts, I feel that this would be very valuable.

Pros

The possibility of having several drawing sheets in one file is great, this makes it easier to keep related collections in a single project file. I also like the many options for importing and exporting formats, with asset profiles.

Cons

There are some things that I find confusing, as they mix what's on the project/file level and what's on the application level. For example, there are settings in the export profile that are saved within your ".ai" project, but there are others, such as the folder where "export to screens", which are at the application level. So you sometimes export to the wrong place, and you always have to know where you are exporting to, this confuses you when building game assets, for example, where there are sometimes hundreds of files in the same general project (several ".ai" ).

Reason for choosing Adobe Illustrator

I tested Corel and found it too heavy, too slow to do the same kind of things that Illustrator does. Corel's price is also much higher, considering that Creative Cloud adds even more value to Illustrator. Let's be realistic: if you work with vector graphic design, you also do things with raster graphics or animations. Using nice and compatible interfaces, all included in one price (payable), makes other options irrelevant (my opinion, of course). I tried other free or open source alternatives and I didn't think they would outperform InkScape and fall under the same limitations. Professionally I am also VERY concerned that something I created can be opened again with 100% compatibility to change 10 years from now.

### "Why you should use adobe illustrator"

November 15, 2022

5.0

What can I say about my overall experience with illustrator other than it has been a great deal so far for me and my business it's what I used and it's what I will keep using

Pros

Talking about features that this software has been great. If am to talk about my best feature I don't know because I just love the software it's a great deal everything about it is just cool I love the layout too and the tools

Cons

What I liked the least about this software is that ones it crashes or gets disturbed lets say your PC is plugged out while in the middle of a project your project could likely crash even if you saved it and it will be great if that problem could be fixed

### "Endless possibilities for vector design"

October 27, 2022

4.0

For designing Industry standard Vector graphics & working in the design world it's my go-to choice. For my client projects, I prefer Illustrator the best.

Pros

Illustrator is the most feature-rich vector design software I've ever used. It is the industry standard & the learning curve was not that hard for me.

Cons

The subscription model is not good enough & the price is a bit high for 3rd world countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan etc. Illsutrator requires a lot of resource to perform smoothly so my 3yrs old laptop couldn't run this well.

### "Perfect for quick sketching & complex projects"

April 4, 2019

5.0

My work is layout-centric and Illustrator is perfect for drawing up sketches for me. I can only recommend it to anyone working with Adobe products, given that the integration is completely seamless. My warm recommendations!

Pros

\- Standard in the Creativity Industry, supports a broad variety of file types I've been in the industry since last year and am still yet to discover someone who doesn't have Illustrator. Illustrator (together with other Adobe products) is the de-facto standard for creating graphics which means that file-sharing and cooperating on files won't be a problem. What's really important is that it supports many filetypes: for example svg and eps. - Creative cloud: Updates are free, all older versions are easily accessible Illustrator (CC) is a recurring subscription which means that you'll get new updates without having to pay extra for them. As part of the CC application, you will also get access to all older versions of Illustrator CC, which can be useful for compatibility reasons. - Stable Only once have I experienced a crash with Illustrator and it was the fault of my graphics card driver. I can vouch that Illustrator is extremely stable and provided that your computer's specifications meet the minimum requirements, you shouldn't have any problems with it. -Integrated with InDesign and other Adobe Suite Products This, to me, is the distinction between Illustrator and other software types. I use InDesign heavily and the intercompatibility of Adobe has left me wanting anytime I have to use something else. My favorite example of this is editing with Illustrator in InDesign-it lets you adjust certain already layouted elements in InDesign without relayouting everything.

Cons

\- Subscription Payment This is a double-edged sword. For private users this is problematic because it ends up being expensive down the road. However, for companies and organizations this means that you get tech support and updates included into the price. - Steep learning curve The premises of the program are basic. However, for advanced tasks, you will need to consult manuals/tutorials if you've never used the software before. Even if it is intuitive, the sheer amount of features can be overwhelming for beginners. - High System Requirements I believe this one explains itself. For advanced projects, you will need a beefier machine

### "For interoperability in sketching and vectors, there's still no peer"

May 10, 2019

5.0

Adobe Illustrator has had growing pains. With the introduction of Creative Suite 4, Illustrator became a viable product against the then-acquired Macromedia Freehand, and offered excellent support for both user bases. Since then, it has matured as a product, offering an increasing array of tools for vector-based designs and embracing newer technologies such as touch. While Adobe has done an impressive job of keeping Illustrator relevant in a market full of competitors (Sketch, InVision), it needs to innovate a bit more to maintain that relevancy or risk disruption by a smaller program that they cannot acquire.

Pros

Easy to use and maintain knowledge of product as it is upgraded Familiar patterns integrated from absorbed products like Macromedia Freehand Seamless integration with Adobe XD

Cons

Can be very challenging for non-designers to understand the product and is very expensive for people who want to make simple changes. There is no equivalent in Illustrator to Photoshop Express or Acrobat Reader, requiring files be saved to PDF.

### "Boost Your Skills as a Designer with Adobe Illustrator"

August 15, 2021

5.0

Adobe Illustrator is a key element of our whole revenue. It has helped us run our business. We work in the capacity of a professional and high-end design agency and we simply can not function without Adobe Illustrator. And if I'm being honest, our experience with Adobe Illustrator has been remarkable. We love to use it and help many businesses with their design and branding needs.

Pros

I give 8 out of 10 ratings to Adobe Illustrator as my favorite vector-based design program. At Fullstop, we provide professional graphic design services and work on complex illustrations, infographics, flyers, different types of packaging, brochures, and icons. We've been able to do all these things with the help of Adobe Illustrator mostly. It allows to create, draw, and combine different shapes in a simple way. You can add text to your design and by using the masking technique, you can hide or show different parts of an illustration. There are plenty of other drawing tools that help you to completely transform your artwork. Gradients, colors, and strokes provide you with great help to make the best visuals. You work on layers and do plenty of cools things with your artwork. Adobe Illustration lets you export SVGs and your assets for other web and print designs. To be honest, there are so many tips and tricks that you can only discover by using the software, so if you are a design professional with an aim to excel in graphic design, you have to have Adobe Illustrator.

Cons

You need to have some knowledge of the design tools and technique before using Adobe Illustrator. It can be difficult for beginners as there are so many tools. You need to be patient while learning how to use it professionally. You can't work with Illustrator unless you have a big screen. Likewise, it requires a lot of storage space and it is costly too.

### "As a designer illustrator is the best software to make creative designs in the world"

Illustrator was and still is my go-to software to make designs for digital and print. hand down the best design software.

Pros

I'm a graphic designer with 12 years of experience using illustrator, I love every part of it, how easy to use and how fast and practical tools illustrator has, I use the last version every year and I love the improvement, also good for web design, I prefer it especially when I'm using vectors to make detailed t-shirt designs book covers and logos and prints and even website designs. for me, the illustrator is the best software for making designs.

Cons

sometimes when I use it for a long time, it starts to bug and consumes a lot of memory, I hope they work on performance, rather than that everything was great.

### "Great Vector Editor"

March 22, 2024

5.0

I have been using Illustrator for years, it is packed with many design features and capabilities you will not find elsewhere and it allows you to export your work to integrate with certain workflows. I use it to turn flat logos to 3D via 3D softwares and it gives you a lot of controls to unleash your creativity.

Pros

\- Stunning Vector graphics - Integration with many design software (After Effect, Cinema 4D) - The new subscription based model made access to Illustrator more affordable

Cons

\- Not easy to use for beginners who do not know the tools but adobe Creative Suite offers a lot of learning videos - Some new tools must be added, wish there was some 3D mapping of images creating a mesh rather than doing it manually.

### "Illustrator is a Professional Program and the Learning Curve and Cost Will Reflect That"

November 28, 2018

5.0

When working with vectors, I go to Illustrator and have for many years and will continue to. In my estimation, it far exceeded the competitors at the time I started, such as Corel Draw (20 years ago). It continues to serve me well. For those who work with Web Design primarily, there are other vector tools that have edged their way into the market and at a fraction of the price and they do some pretty cool things. If I was was just starting our and/or had a tighter budget, I might consider them as alternatives. Illustrator is no longer the young, cool kid on the block and some of these other software packages have found supporters in younger designers, but I still think its the best overall if you have the time and resources to learn it.

Pros

I'm a professional graphic designer, so Illustrator has been my go-to program for working with vector art for many years. Pretty much whatever you want to do in this program, you can do if you know how. It's nice that they have been able to keep up with a lot of the crossover to web needs, like the ability to export SVG files and such.

Cons

This is a difficult question to answer because what constitutes a "con" might not actually be a con at all. It depends on your needs. I could say that it's gotten a little bloated with features I don't need, but someone else may need them and, surely, I use a lot of features that others don't need. But it does make the learning curve a bit steeper, both for newbies getting their feet wet, or experienced users using newer features. But, again, with a powerful tool comes some investment of time in learning to use it right. Similarly, cost: Adobe has sort of priced themselves out of "consumer" and into "pro-sumer" with their Ccreative Cloud. For someone like me, the price for all that great software they offer, including Illustrator, it's a good deal! For someone who doesn't need all that software (or this one in particular) as much as I do, then it might seem pricey.

### "A great product that has not adapted to the times."

February 11, 2021

4.0

For decades, Adobe Illustrator served me well. In the beginning, it was the best. But Corel Draw eventually eclipsed it in features and ease-of-use. But as the standard that I had learned to use well and had grown with, I still gravitated to AI, for most projects. But two things happened almost simultaneously that moved me away from AI. First, Adobe went exclusively to a subscription model, meaning that I would no longer OWN my software, if I upgraded. FYI, I'm still on CS6, which I OWN. I have not and will not rent software, because of the possibility of being locked out of my software at a critical time, when I need it most. The second reason is the release of Affinity Designer/Photo, which are the first fully functional products aimed at replacing Illustrator and Photoshop. Designer does virtually everything that Illustrator can do, does it for a whole lot less money, and I OWN IT. The only thing I have found that Affinity products won't do (yet), is pattern overlays in fx. But I'm sure that will be coming soon. I used to be an Adobe evangelist. But today, I have become an Affinity evangelist and I barely use my CS6 Adobe Suite that has been relegated to a VMware partition, with an old version of MacOS, that I only use for archive files. Adobe Illustrator used to be the standard and well deserved. That is no longer the case and also well deserved. They are over-priced, considering that other equivalent products now exist for a fraction of the cost.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator was the standard for years, before there was competition in this market. Then, even after Corel Draw came along, which was a better (5-star) product, Adobe managed to remain the standard, by continuing to be at least a very good product (4-star). It seems that being the standard means you don't have to be the best, but you must be very good and Illustrator was just that - very good.

Cons

Several features in Adobe Illustrator were poorly implemented. Though there were more than a few such issues, one that comes to mind is the ease of placing an image within another object, when using Corel Draw, as compared to the convoluted steps to do the same thing in AI. But Adobe Illustrator lost me as a user, when Adobe went to a subscription base. It's not an issue of money. I have been willing to pay large sums of money, for the full suite of Adobe graphic/photo design tools, including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and the now discontinued Flash (ActiveScript). My concern is that I can't afford to be told that I can't use my software now, because my fully paid-up subscription can't be confirmed on the server. That's exactly what could happen, if a hacker penetrated Adobe's license server and deleted or changed all the license files. Any number of other scenarios could have similar results. That's why I OWN my software. Sure, a hacker could get into my system and cause damage. But I work behind two firewalls and I'm a very minor target for hackers. Adobe, by contrast, is so large that they're a prime target for hackers. They will be targeted by 10,000 hackers, before I'm attacked once. I'll take my chances with OWNED software on my system, rather than leave that security to a stranger, at a high-value target. Besides, I can now to everything with Affinity Designer that I used to do with AI. It also costs less and I OWN it. Bye AI.

Reason for choosing Adobe Illustrator

I chose AI, because it was the only thing available to do what it did, at the time. For many years it was a great product that was only slightly over-priced. That has changed. I have since switched to Affinity Designer (and Affinity Photo) for ALL of my new graphic/photo work. I OWN that software, versus the Adobe model, where you rent your software. Also, the cost to OWN the Affinity products is about the same as the cost to rent the Adobe products for just one month. No comparison. Bye, Adobe. You were good while you lasted. But there are now better products to do the same thing for less money.

### "The Best Tool For Every Graphical Needs"

October 31, 2020

5.0

Everyone recommends Illustrator. I also started using this because one of my friends recommended this. I knew that this is professional-grade software. However, I was a bit scared about the usability. It's because I am just a content creator and marketer. Not a professional graphic designer. I need a tool that will help me create graphics quickly and with ease. Illustrator is just like that. This I the go-to tool for every kind of digital creation. No matter whether I want a professional design for email marketing or just a simple design for my Facebook updates, it always gets me covered. This is the power of Illustrator. I need to manage a lot of online presence. Since I am a freelancer and kind of a one-man army, I have to work on the go. I can run this tool on both my Windows tablet and Mac workstation. This is a huge benefit. I know some of you are scared about it. Believe me, it's not that tough. If you sincerely follow some tutorials you will be able to make basic designs without any problem.

Pros

There are a lot of features in this amazing piece of software. However, I don't have to use all of them. I just use basic features like editing a free to use vector file from the internet. Sometimes, I design covers and banners for my online businesses. Illustrator handles these very well. I liked Adobe's consistent design language in all of its software including Illustrator. One I learned illustrator and now all other Adobe software seems easy to me. Because I got familiar with their user interface. I like the power of its vector design feature. It helps me to design a graphic that doesn't rely on pixels and can be scaled to any size. This is the coolest feature of Adobe Illustrator. Custom fonts and different types of brushes are also great for creating modern and complex designs.

Cons

I don't hate anything about this software. However, the software is a bit heavy. I don't need all the features of Illustrator. This is why I need a lightweight PC version of it with the basic features. If the developer makes something like this it will be amazing. Another thing is the crashing problem. Sometimes it crashes on my old low powered laptop and this is frustrating.

Once I used Microsoft Powerpoint for designing YouTube thumbnails and social media contents, like banners and so on. But Powerpoint is not a graphic design tool. This is why I missed many functionalities. Then I switched to Illustrator and I can work on a lot of free vector files that are available on the internet. Besides, I can ask anything to the large community of Illustrator users. The cost is another thing. I can subscribe to Adobe's Creative Suite and can use all of its bundled packages on all of my devices. This helps me to run my business cost-effectively. Besides, I am quite happy with Adobe's customer support. They are great!

### "The best Vector Illustration Software available"

December 29, 2022

5.0

Illustrator has been an asset for me as a graphic designer for the majority of my career. It is useful especially when creating large projects like designs for storefront windows, billboards, etc. I enjoy working with the software, but I wish it was a better price.

Pros

Although the learning curve with Illustrator can feel quite high, it is the standard for vector designers. The product has an array of tools that allow designers to draw, shade, color and more. The possibilities are endless. One can create gradients, complex patterns, and even brushes. I also love how well it integrates into the other Adobe programs like Photoshop and InDesign.

Cons

In 2022, when literally everything online is available for $12.99 per month, adobe Illustrators is almost twice that price with not that much more to offer than it's competitors.

Alternatives considered

[Affinity Designer](https://www.capterra.com/p/110533/WebPlus-X4/)

Reason for choosing Adobe Illustrator

Ultimately familiarity with the UI was the reason I continued with Illustrator. I may opt for another trail at Affinity designer in the future.

### "Team Adobe over everyone!"

February 12, 2024

5.0

Overall, Adobe Illustrator will always be my go-to when it comes to design. No other app can currently replace it.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is by far my favorite app within Adobe. I love the way the interface looks and is organized. It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but when you learn where things are - it's so intuitive and really well made. Every year they introduce new features integrated into the app and it just gets better and better every year.

Cons

The thing that I like the least is how it can lag from time to time. I have had many nightmare situations where my file goes black and I cannot save it. It would be great if this program didn't require so much to run.

### "Design logos, icons & vector graphics using state of the art technology. "

July 30, 2023

Illustrator gives us the flexibility & tools to design logos that make an impression. The graphics created in Adobe Illustrator look good on-screen and in print. We use the product for our organizational design activities, completely satisfied with it.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator facilitates designing graphics with a team. It's Share for Review feature makes collaboration much easier. Creators can share their work with other team members & the collaborators can directly edit the shared document or can add their comments.Adobe Illustrator now has generative recolor, which creates customized color schemes using text input. This is a great feature for artists & designers to explore various AI generated color pallettes before finalizing the graphic.

Cons

Adobe Illustrator needs a minimum of 8GB RAM to install. The product is heavy & consumes considerable amount of system resources while it's running.Adobe Illustrator is the industry standard but it also comes with hefty price tag.

### "Best Graphic Design Software for Creating Vector Graphics "

May 8, 2019

5.0

Illustrator is great, perfect for Vector design, Logo creation, drawing Cartoons etc and it gets the job done and even do more. For a graphic designer, the software is recommended since there isn’t any better alternative. Once it’s features are mastered, one can easily play with the software and create something out of it.

Pros

Adobe illustrator is a great software for Graphic Designers to add to their collection. The software is made for creating a vector graphics and it so good at it. Over the years, I have learnt to use Adobe Illustrator to create project like Cartoon and Logo designs. It is a great software and it gets the job done easily. One of the best option for using the illustrator is the vector-graphic which makes design a perfect still quality, no matter how the design’s size is adjusted, the resolution stay the same. With Adobe illustrator users can easily draw a design from scratch by mastering the Pen Tool and with tons of other tools like the Pathfinder Tool, the software made it very easy to design almost anything and even beautify it with the color guide.

Cons

Adobe illustrator is great, no doubt one of the best drawing software out there, however the best can be too best.. if that makes sense. For beginners, Illustrator has so many complex features which are not easy to learn at all, even with knowledge of other Adobe softwares. The software is also heavy while operating, it requires a very strong PC to properly use without slowing down your operations or hang the PC while at it. Illustrator is just good for drawing, editing image isn’t recommended on the software, it lacks some basic features to edit image and working with layers on this software can be very frustrating.

### "Not the application for all projects"

July 6, 2021

4.0

I use this for creating content to use in design templates in other applications. This includes newsletters, magazines, flyers, calendars, etc. It is a good tool to get some unique designs but it is most definitely not the program I rely on the most. It is more of a side program to make things that I can't make in my primary programs.

Pros

It is a very intricate piece of software with a lot of different features, especially when it comes to graphic design and creating those designs from scratch. It has a nice clean layout and you only need to see the menus that you choose to have up.

Cons

It isn't easy to use, you really have to dive in and figure out all the different features. It is not good for the creation of templates because those templates DO NOT easily transfer to another CC program.

### "Adobe Illustrator, one of my BASIC needs"

June 6, 2023

5.0

My experience with this item has been excellent in general, and I have noticed that I am able to achieve more advanced results with continued use. By utilizing computer-based tools, I have been able to express my creativity and bring my ideas to fruition through the creation of vectors and graphic designs, which have been useful in designing websites, clothing, and other printed materials. I hold the belief that artificial intelligence is a powerful tool and I am appreciative of the designers who have made it accessible. Personally, I think that Adobe products are the optimal choice for designing and editing.

Pros

This software has numerous impressive features such as an interactive user interface, exceptional editing tools, professional methods for shaping and coloring forms, beautiful templates, brushes, effortless importing and exporting of files, and many other great features. It is undoubtedly the best design software available. Adobe is well-known for providing top-notch design software and they have not disappointed with this one.

Cons

This software is characterized by its large size, which occupies a significant amount of space on the computer system. As a result, the software may become unresponsive or stuck during its operation.

Reason for choosing Adobe Illustrator

It has better options to do what i want to the editing.

### "Review on Adobe Illustrator"

November 15, 2021

5.0

Usually making logos for my customers and it was always a really good experience.

Pros

In my opinion, this is the best software for logo design. It is fast and has a big number of usable tools which can help you to make any design you imagine.

Cons

Sometimes tools can be laggy and shortcuts are not the same as in other programs. Slow on low end devices.

### "Il miglior programma per design grafico"

April 24, 2024

5.0

### "Excellent Vector Graphic Software"

June 8, 2023

5.0

Pros

Illustrator is the go-to software for vector art design. I use it daily for illustrations, social media posts, and any other creative projects that benefit from a vector-based software.

Cons

The text feature in illustrator is not the best, I would like to have more abilities to align text, flow text from one text box to another and work in pages.

### "Adobe Illustrator Review"

December 26, 2019

5.0

Adobe Illustrators is an innovative vector-based program developed for graphic design professionals. This software used algorithms to draw shapes rather than using bitmap images to store data. That's why Illustrator's vector graphics can be scaled to any size without losing their overall quality or resolution. Adobe Illustrator makes everything from company logos to informative drawings to animated designs because of this unique design. It can print illustrations, produce beautiful graphics on the website and give users full control over their typography. So, I recommend this software and it is worth it.

Pros

1.) It provides an interface which will help the user: You have an extra degree of flexibility when working to design the entire workspace with Adobe Illustrator. Your interface makes personalized viewing possible. There is also an option to save space. Such processes allow you to work on your project in any way that is most convenient, while maintaining full control over all the options available. 2.) The Adobe Illustrator is compatible on almost any computer system: While Adobe Illustrator is not working well on mobile devices, on almost any computer system, it does an exceptional job. It can be used on Windows PCs or on items from Apple. Even from the early 2000s, if you use an older top-of - the-line option, it will work properly on older computers. 3.) It produces web and print graphics: Thanks to Adobe Illustrator, you can easily create print-ready graphics. With this tool, you can also create web graphics. It works in any screen resolution, offering a constantly updated tool set that allows you to relatively easily build professional vector graphics.

Cons

The only disadvantage is that you need to require lots of patience. If you're planning to design something that's interesting, imaginative, and you don't need a practical dimension, then Adobe Illustrator can help you put together something in no time. If you want to build something that makes people feel positive, then you need to give yourself plenty of time to work on the project.
