### "Review for Adobe Illustrator "

January 13, 2020

5.0

Overall, I think it is a software that offers a lot of functions and provides value for money. It helps me with my learning curve and can visually represent almost anything you want.

Pros

Adobe illustrator is completely scalable and works well with designing logos and cartoons which is what I basically do. You also have in-panel editing which makes it better. It is user-friendly too.

Cons

The fact that it offers limited support for raster graphics and that it requires a lot of patience. The loading time is also very high, comparatively.

Alternatives considered

[Inkscape](https://www.capterra.com/p/178240/Inkscape/)[GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)](https://www.capterra.com/p/168960/GIMP/)

Reason for choosing Adobe Illustrator

Primarily because it is the easiest way to generate and produce graphics. Also, whatever we make on this software is easily scalable and adjustable across any media platform one can name.

Switched from

[Inkscape](https://www.capterra.com/p/178240/Inkscape/)

Because adobe illustrator had much more options that Inkscape. Ofcourse the amount I paid justifies what I get but still it provides more value than any other software.

### "The best vector graphic software!"

January 22, 2021

5.0

I recommend using Adobe Illustrator for professionals who work with graphic design and especially for illustrators. If you're a person who works with Logos, advertising pieces, business cards, printing projects like me, you definitely should try Adobe Illustrator. I remember using this program to making some Logos and other designs for a wine local company near me, and the quality of work was superb! It's high-quality software!

Pros

Adobe Illustrator it's a powerful program that has a similar interface as his brothers: Adobe Photoshop, InDesign.. etc. This Adobe program it's definitely a stable and fast program with so many tools to work with. I've already used another vector program in the past, but Adobe Illustrator is the winner here. Programs "like" Adobe Illustrator doesn't have that many tools and options as Illustrator, such as: 3D tools, Extrude & Bevel, "Revolve", no-lag, high-quality finish, many languages and much more. Oh! Did I mention the ability to use Plug-ins?

Cons

If you're a beginner you'll have some difficulty using this program since Adobe Illustrator is not so intuitive. Lucky for me, when I started working with this program I was in school and thanks to my teacher I could learn so many things. Another con is: You'll definitely need a good computer, a good processor to run this program or you'll definitely have a bad time with complex work.

### "The best vector based illustration software by far"

May 16, 2018

5.0

I have developed the brand for some clients, designed some logos for work projects and a lot of designs for social feeds and pages.

Pros

What I like the most about Adobe Illustrator is the freedom that it gives you to Illustrate, sketch and develop the forms and drawings you have in your mind or in a piece of paper. It's perfect for designing logos and brand materials, from the most simple to the most complex. I'm not professional trained to use Illustrator, but there's a lot of tutorials and content on how to get the results you are looking for and even the techniques on the specific tools that are available within the software.

Cons

There's a little to "not like" about Illustrator, the price is a bit steep, but for the professionals is a tool that's worth every penny. Sometimes Illustrator can be a bit overwhelming for small and simple tasks, but once you get the feel of it, it's the tool you can't live without.

Using Adobe illustrator has reduced time of coming out with logo design for my client and it has improved my design skills to all new heights.

Pros

I like it's pen tools feature and how you use it to create an outstanding logos without having much experience in using a computer. You need to follow simple tutorials after installation and also online courses to let your creativity comes to live.

Cons

### "An Essential Program for (almost) All Marketing Materials"

October 19, 2020

5.0

I don't know where I'd be without Adobe Illustrator -- it is my go-to program for almost all my marketing collateral production needs. Minor bugs aside, it is the best product for producing any sort of graphic design material on a large scale. Especially if you are working on campaigns that require consistency across multiple iterations.

Pros

Being able to design multiple artboards for display ad campaigns in one working file is a huge asset -- not only does it ensure my campaigns are visually consistent, it allows me to quickly and efficiently swap out graphics with ease. The various features (copy+drag, clipping mask etc) and export functions allow me to use this program for assets ranging from large-scale building signage, video titles, digital display ads, logos and print assets. It truly is the most versatile adobe product for graphic design/marketing collateral.

Cons

Exporting multiple artboards can be extremely frustrating when you're working with different sizes. For example: if I want to export 300x600, 1024x400, and a 200x200 boards, the exported image files will be MUCH larger than the artboard sizes and require resizing in photoshop. It can also be tricky to maintain text clarity/image quality when exporting -- to solve this I set my document raster effects to 300ppi and then scale the images down in photoshop after exporting.

Pros

### "Adobe Illustrator review"

August 12, 2023

5.0

It is still the best application I used, but I suggest that there are copies for weak devices and copies for self. Fewer and more simplified tools to attract novice users and make them love using it

Pros

I liked this application very much. I did not face any problem in dealing with it. What I like most about it is the accuracy and defining the details when I want to design something. There are also many tools that the user can benefit from when working.

Cons

One of the biggest problems that I encountered when using it is the difficulty in finding some toolsAlso, the application requires a computer with medium specifications so that the person can work comfortably

### "The best vector graphic designing software out there!"

May 4, 2019

5.0

Illustrator is a part of my everyday job as a graphic designer, and I'm learning new techniques every day to get more and more out of it.

Pros

Frankly, I am in awe of Adobe Illustrator CC 2018. I use it to design logos, customizing type, create illustrations and even for layout purposes. The ability to seamlessly transfer back and forth from other Adobe Creative Cloud products such as Photoshop, InDesign and even Bridge makes it very easy to manage work. Illustrator can also be navigated fairly easily. The integration of Adobe Typekit and Spark is also very helpful. But, what I love most about the Illustrator is its ability to create and manage multiple artboards. It helps in creating a lot of iterations for a project very quickly by quickly replicating the artboards.

Cons

For some reason, Illustrator is unable to open .CDR files. Many times I get CorelDraw files for redesigning the graphic, And I have to convert them to .SVG every single time before importing it into Illustrator, which sometimes modifies it. I hope Illustrator starts supporting .CDR files. It will be easier as many printers here in India still only support .CDR files. So more designers around me will start working in Illustrator instead of just using CorelDraw if they can just save the files afterwards to .CDR extension.

### "I've been a designer for more tahn 10 years and this is the best vector software I've used."

July 14, 2018

4.0

I definitely save time, because its features are easy to use. It's fantastic for making illustrations and working with vectors. \*ai files are standard in the industry so, it's safe to share my files with my colleagues or anyone and everybody cand work with them.

Pros

It's relatively easier to use than other softwares like CorelDraw. It has a lot of features and with each version it's getting better and better. I love the feature of creating and editing pdf even when they're not made with Illustrator. Love the new touch interface when I work on my Windows tablet The actual desktop interface has been improved with each version Linking images is a really great feature to get smaller file sizes

Cons

Sometimes it crashes and I've lost my work. It consumes a lot of resources when files are really big Not that good for making gigantography or handling really big images It has less printing an pdf options than other softwares like CorelDraw

Adobe illustrator is used to design our various communication visuals.

Pros

Designing visuals is easy with adobe Illustrator, thanks in particular to its constant updates and large community. Files are stored in the cloud, so there's no need to lose data.

Cons

The interface is complex for beginners. It takes a long period of use to get the basics right.

### "Great tool for creative image projects"

March 30, 2020

5.0

I use Adobe Illustrator to create maps for my production team and to send to our Guests. My usage of Illustrator started with just editing previously created maps, but now I will make maps of a location from scratch. I honestly am probably only scratching the surface of Adobe Illustrator's full capabilities, but this shows the software can work great for both basic designers and master artists.

Pros

I do not consider myself to be a creative or artistic person whatsoever, and previous to my current job I had never used Adobe Illustrator, and only briefly used Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Illustrator was very easy to learn and use from day one. There are tutorials you can find online, especially if you are trying to learn a specific function or tool, but even with just playing around with the software on my own I was able to pick up the basic functions. While it is easy to learn the basics, there are a lot of more complicated tools and functions that as you get more familiar with Illustrator you can employ to improve your projects and fine-tune your skills. I love the layers tool. You can essentially create multiple versions of one project all in one file. You simply chose which layers you want visible. This tool is great for creating maps, among other things, as you can display different items, keys, etc. The Curvature tool is also great for fine-tuning lines and shapes to match exactly what you want to create.

Cons

Honestly I cannot think of any negatives to Adobe Illustrator besides the price per month.

### "Best graphic designing software i ever used"

January 16, 2021

5.0

As a summary, i must say that the Adobe illustrator is one of the best graphic designing software i ever used in my life. It helps me a lot in my day to day activities. I really enjoy using it daily and i highly recommend to any other person too.

Pros

Adobe illustrator is one of the most trending graphic designing software in the present world. The best thing about this software is, it having very user friendly interface which even a new beginner can easily manage the software. Also illustrator provides lot of attractive features to edit vector graphics excellently. Thus this is very popular software in the world, we can easily learn about advanced options in the software by watching youtube videos.

Cons

Adobe illustrator needs good condition computer to function properly. In older version Pcs, it may slow somewhat. But if you have better RAM in your Pc, you can get excellent experience in graphic designing field by this software.

### "Adobe is tops in graphics software - but no other options?"

February 11, 2020

5.0

Illustrator has a consistent interface with the rest of the Creative Cloud apps, allowing you to move seamlessly from Photoshop to InDesign to Illustrator without losing a beat. I like the fact that Illustrator allows you to save as an Illustrator PDF file, saving from having to export a separate file from an .AI file. I now keep all my files as PDFs that I can share with clients, open in Acrobat or Adobe Reader, or open in Illustrator to edit.

Pros

I've been using Illustrator since it was released, version '88'. I like the fact that I can use the SAME keyboard shortcuts and most of the same commands in the same way since the original version. The capabilities are solid, being able to create and edit vector files, include raster (image) files, and I like that they finally added multiple pages -- although they bizarrely call "artboards".

Cons

For several versions, the software was very buggy. Adobe tends to rush updates to market without testing them thoroughly sometimes. I also dislike that newer versions require more storage space for the software, more processing power from the computer, and the "upgrades" they make by adding new features so they can continue to charge for updates. Also don't like that there isn't a real viable Mac competitor like Freehand. CorelDraw left the Mac market but has apparently come back, but all my files are in .AI format.

### "Extremely expensive but also extremely good"

August 27, 2018

5.0

Consifering the fact that illustrator is extremely expensive just by itself (not including what you need to pay for an instructor) you really need to think twice to get it but if you do I can guarantee you that you wont regret it, it is just the best graphic designing software I have ever used.

Pros

Illustrator is just a powerhouse, it is hands down the best graphic designing software I have ever used, it comes with every posible tool you might require for designing and once you get the hang of it (something that can take a while) you will produce amazing content, whether it is from predesign content or original one.

Cons

I truly love illustrator, it is an excellent software, but something really bad about it is the fact that it is really expensive, and considering that you will probably also require an instructor, or to spend a lot of time learning it (and time is money) it may not be worth it if you are not in the graphic desing business.

### "A must for graphic artists"

January 13, 2019

3.0

Pros

I am still learning how to use the tools. You pick your canvas size. So far, I have mastered the ink dropper tool. I create a new color, add it my color chart then use the dropper to fill in a particular drawing. I am still playing with different drawing techniques while using the brushes, there are five. I can set the thickness of my line, opaqueness of may shades or add shapes and lines from the tool box. You can pinch out to zoom in, helps for adding details to smaller items. Pinch in to bring the canvas back to normal size. My kids love this app, they draw many stick characters and save them. The drawings save as you create them. I don't know how to layer yet, but I am practicing. I have a few pictures drawn for a short story I am working on. I hope to finish soon so I can add the text to the pictures and submit to a publisher. I hope to design many drawings and not to use an illustrator for my books.

Cons

Sometimes the app crashes, when it does my last drawing techniques does not save. I have to restart the app and try again, hoping it does not crash again without saving. Pinch in to zoom, sometimes undoes my last line, color or whatever I was doing to my canvas.

### "My review about Adobe Illustrator"

March 1, 2020

4.0

The biggest reason for using Adobe illustrator is working on macOS operating system. In fact, while most of the design programs basically have similar functions, Adobe Illustrator can outperform others with some special possibilities. Designs drawn in vector with Adobe Illustrator can be resized or shaped at any time.

Pros

I use Adobe Illustrator regarding my job for approximately 5 years. In my personal opinion and experience, this program is the easiest for professional graphic designers. The biggest reason why Illustrator is so popular and often preferred by professional designers is the "vector" feature we have been talking about since the beginning of the content. And this feature is the biggest advantage of the Adobe Illustrator.

Cons

Sometimes happen some problems with Adobe Illustrator. First of all, the performance depends on the power of the computer. Therefore sometimes happen crash or error in the projects. Besides, the license price does not suit for customers and we would like a discount.

Switched from

[CorelDRAW](https://www.capterra.com/p/124823/CorelDRAW/)

When designers make a choice between Corel draw and illustrator, it should be taken into account which one is more dominant. For beginners, I recommend starting with Adobe Illustrator as it has an easy interface.

### "I've been using Adobe Illustrator for over 10 years - and for good reason!"

February 23, 2021

5.0

I have been using Adobe Illustrator for over 10 years and recommend it to all of my colleagues and design-minded friends. Adobe creates such versatile and powerful products, and Illustrator is at the top of the list for me.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is the standard for creating vector-based graphics. I have been using it since version CS2 and am always impressed by the innovations and improvements Adobe makes to each new version. It is lightning fast, has the ability to share to Adobe's cloud to access your projects on all your devices, and allows you the ability to export in many different formats.

Cons

The biggest con is only having a subscription-based model through Adobe Creative Cloud. I want to be able to purchase the program outright. The monthly price is also pretty steep making it inaccessible to many undeserved communities. Image Trace is also limited in its capabilities despite the granular options available.
