### "A must have for graphic designers and illustrators."

January 27, 2019

4.0

As a designer we have to use illustrator and I belive a little optimisation based on what kind of design we aim to make would be a step in the right direction.

Pros

I am a UI/UX and graphic designer for a leading startup. I have to use the Adobe Suite of products a lot to get my work done. Illustrator is an amazing tool to create vector graphics. This software is next to none and has served me well over the last 8 years. The layout is familiar. Love the ease of use. Many many extentions to export to. Backwards compatible.

Cons

I have moved from being a full graphic designer to being a UI/UX designer and would love to create designs in Vector for web and mobile layouts. The software is not as updated as its counterparts like Photoshop and XD. The software doesn't work well with prototyping softwares like zeplin. The new controls in CC2019 in rest of the Adobe suite needs to be updated in this too.

### "Illustrator Review "

November 1, 2018

4.0

Great experience!

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is a great software that works on all the devices, regardless of the operating system they run. Also, it goes hand-in-hand with Adobe's other products like Photoshop, for example. You can do almost anything on Illustrator, as it has numerous effects and options that can help you. What makes any designer prefer Illustrator over other software is that pixels aren't a thing to worry about at all... This is a great assistance when it comes to working on graphics, especially the high resolution ones. The final product is always neat and clean.

Cons

Not for beginners. One might spend a great deal of time getting used to things if it's the first time to use the software, without any knowledge of previous versions, but then you start to catch up and know how everything works. Illustrator is not for quick designers, as you need to spend some time focusing on the intricate details of every project you work on to make sure you got it the way you want. While some find the absence of pixels a great addition, some find it a disadvantage, as it doesn't give you the ability to work on pixel art projects, however, I didn't find this a disadvantage myself, but some definitely would.

### "Essential and yet unmatched tool for every designer"

November 10, 2019

5.0

I use Illustrator every single day to build graphics for web, .png and .svg are easily generated from complex compositions using Illustrator. I have used several other software for vectors and I can say that still, Illustrator is unmatched on simplicity, robustness and features available.

Pros

As a web designer and developer, I often find myself in Illustrator retouching the client logos, generating assets and creating vectors as well. If you are building for the web it's way better to go for Illustrator, you create your vector and then you can export it as assets in multiple formats and size factors, that's awesome! It will also help you automatically naming the files accordingly, something that's really time-consuming if made by hand. Generally, Illustrator runs smoothly on my computer and it'll save my work even if the software crashes, 9 out of 10. The interface is beautiful and easy to use.

Cons

The cost of the subscription is often prohibitive, especially if you are coming from countries with weaker currencies. I also don't like the feeling of monthly subscriptions, I am more into buying the software and then only paying again if I need to upgrade. The myriad of options available might be daunting for beginners, so you will need a few tutorials to get used to it.

### "Nothing compares to Illustrator!"

April 10, 2018

5.0

I create infographics, logos, illustrations, and more.

Pros

In my opinion/experience, nothing really compares to Illustrator. What you can do with the program is amazing. From logos, to illustrations, the quality is excellent. There are so many tools that can save you a huge amount of time. One of my favorites is the shape builder tool. I love how easy it is to work with other Adobe products. The library is a wonderful feature to store your most-used colors and elements. Since they've implemented the cloud, you're always up-to-date, so it's great to have all the latest and greatest features.

Cons

The biggest (and possibly only) con about this software is the cost; however, since they implemented the cloud, they do have payment plans, which is what I use. This helps immensely because you're always on the latest version and you can break the cost down into affordable payments.

### "The one and only tool for graphic design."

August 25, 2022

4.0

As a studied graphic designer, this is the tool you need. Next to Photoshop and InDesign. The drag n' drop features between the Adobe Apps is nice. Can't think about it, how life would be without the Adobe apps in my daily business.

Pros

Not easy to use, but after you know how, you'll get all functions and features for really good graphic design and illustration. The Adobe cosmos is the best you could have and use in design.

Cons

That it's so hard to learn and use in the first time. It takes a while to get into it and to know where to find the right tools. The functionality is massive for a beginner.

### "A Dream Tool that all should use"

December 2, 2020

5.0

I’ve never really found any of the Adobe softwares bad, just time consuming to learn. Each one has so much that it can do within its domain, illustrator proved to be no different when it came to digital art or graphic creation. Illustrator has now become one of my most used apps within the Adobe suite following Photoshop and Premiere. If you haven’t tried Adobe Illustrator and can look past the price, I highly recommend it. You won’t continue looking for another software once you’ve tried Illustrator and get to see what it’s truly capable of.

Pros

The pure amount of power Illustrator has over each and every element is simply incredible. The amount of control from each aspect and angle gives the user an unsurpassed ability to create whatever the user is capable of imagining. Mind to reality was once just a fairy tale but the folks at Adobe not only made it a true story, but took it to a whole new playing field.

Cons

In no way is this a bad aspect, just a hurdle or an objective a user must go through to get to the full capabilities of Illustrator; learning how to use Adobe Illustrator (the right way). The software which can manipulate and create anything you can dream of is not the most straight forward tool (as expected). It’s capable of so much that it’s just hard to make it super intuitive. I must also say though it’s not hard to learn. Once you follow a tutorial of what you want to do within Illustrator or a specific toolset like a brush or overlay, you will know how to use it again with no assistance. On top of this, the devs did a great job with assigning shortcuts to functions. Come to think of it, one thing I actually don’t like however I’m sure Adobe has tried its best for this; the hard disk space the apps take up. Having the master suite which includes 10+ apps on my windows pc. It all takes up just about 250 GB of space which is quite a bit.

### "Draw like a professional"

November 14, 2021

Excellent for digital drawing, vector making, logo making, and printable designs.

Pros

I can draw anything and everything. Whether it's vectors, people, or objects. It's a lifesaver to me as a graphic designer. I can use its vectors in my photoshop designs too.

Cons

I find the layers panel a little annoying. It's not always visible and I have to look for it while I'm working on a drawing.

### "One of my best friends"

September 8, 2020

5.0

Outstanding. I use this program daily, and I never tire of it. It is effortless (once you've learned your way around) and allows for complete creative freedom when creating vectors etc. It is also nice to work off the cloud and use it in tandem with other programs (photoshop, indesign etc). It's almost a seamless creative environment.

Pros

I like the endless possibilities this program has. Adobe is constantly updating so there is always something new to learn with the software. It is so versatile, extensive and feels like there are limitless creative options.

Cons

To be honest the learning curve is what I like the least. I've been using Ilustrator for over a decade and I still feel I have barely scratched the surface of it's capabilities. There are tons of tutorials online and through Adobe and I wish I could spend a month straight going through them all. There is a lot to learn and it is quite overwhelming for the first little while.

### "Illustrator, will illustrate your point"

February 17, 2021

5.0

I really like illustrator because it allows me so much flexibility in saving my files with many well known and used formats industry wide. I like their templates for digital media. Over all I really like their product. Although I feel it is a bit on the pricey side I think there is still value for my money.

Pros

I like that whatever is in my imagination can be transferred to the format I require. Among other tasks I am the Brand Administrator for our company. I have to make sure that wherever we market our brand looks great. Our brand shows up in many places and on many platforms digital and paper. Illustrator makes is possible to integrate anywhere I need to be.

Cons

Every time there is a new release of software there are some major changes in where things are. Where my regularly used tools are often change or seem to disappear. They have started video tutorials to help me catch up but it seems I am constantly having to re learn techniques I already learned once.

Reason for choosing Adobe Illustrator

At the time there was much more flexibility in document types.

### "When it comes to vector editing and creation, there is no other."

June 14, 2018

5.0

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is the standard when it comes to vector editing. It has been around for years, and I have used every single version. While there are "drawing" tools, the name Illustrator is really just a name. I don't think they could ever change it because too many people would not know what to do with themselves. There are a lot of other products that Adobe has that have similar features, like XD and InDesign and even Photoshop, but Illustrator is still the best place to start with.

Cons

Over the years it has gotten a little bloated while trying to stay relevant with newer Adobe products like XD and InDesign. Its kind of tweener software, where it does some things that Photoshop can do, and some things XD and InDesign do, but not everything. If you live in the Adobe echo system, it is a must learn, even it you only use it for certain things.

### "Very useful"

5.0

This software helps me a lot in my work, I have very good results from my projects that I have done with it, I recommend it a lot because it gives good results!

Pros

Excellent software, it helps me a lot in my work to make different designs that people in general ask for, it has many very good tools and they help us a lot when it comes to modifying or creating a design, to make logos, design printed canvas, etc. It will help us in general to be able to design anything that has to do with design, one of the things that also helped me is the small tutorials of said software, in the creation of professional designs it is a very good tool that is why I recommend it a lot, if you are looking for an excellent softare to be able to create your designs so profecional, this option I recommend it a lot.

Cons

I have to be sincere and one of the things that did not seem to me is the high price of this software and in the same way one of the things that does not help much is that you must have a slightly high experience to be able to use this software.

### "Illustrator for Creators"

June 20, 2020

5.0

My personal experience with adobe illustrator is extremely well. As far as I know, I do not find any other application that is close to this. Since I started with this way back, now I am a complete master in creating vector graphics using this software.

Pros

This is really good to see that Adobe Illustrator works well and smoothly enough even on a system that has basic configurations. There are no more lags or glitches on the software during the past 2 years. A least I have not faced any issue of such kind recently.

Cons

The learning curve is a bit high. It is not that you just download and start using it right away. The user must have adequate knowledge about the tools in the application. This learning curve cannot be fully a con but one point that shows quite a frustration in the app is that it has too many features to start with if you are a beginner in vector graphics. This may confuse and overwhelm you.

### "software that maximizes my income in design work"

May 18, 2021

5.0

90% of my clients from abroad want the logo design output that I do in Adobe Illustrator format, so I use Adobe Illustrator because this software is more familiar to use abroad. And when I use it for my YouTube videos, I mostly use Adobe Illustrator.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator makes my design work and animation videos easier to apply, because it can be integrated directly with other Adobe families that I use everyday such as Adobe After Effects and for Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro in its use for my YouTube channel.

Cons

In my country for design printing, I am more familiar with design using other design formats, so for print design needs I have to adjust to the format used by the printer because if I use Adobe Illustrator software I have to readjust it according to printing needs. But because my clients use more for logo design without having to print as a whole I am satisfied with Adobe Illustrator.

### "Adobe Illustrator"

December 6, 2019

4.0

Adobe Illustrator is the best place to design logo and other related artwork because it make the design workflow fast and the result are usually powerful.

Pros

In my graphic design role, there are lots of problems I was able to solve using Adobe Illustrator, I can design vector-based art or logo in some seconds, it is an awesome software that came along with Adobe Photoshop or InDesign which I do normally use interchangeably to perfect my design outcome. Ai capabilities are robust that any designer can use it to create any weird creative pieces that come from the mind. Adobe Illustrator is one of the industry's required standard for any designer. I also like the fact that whenever I want to paste things in photoshop I usually create a smart object, which updates automatically in photoshop when I'm editing it in Adobe Illustrator.

Cons

All Adobe software doesn't use similar shortcut keys, for instance, there is a different shortcut key for select/deselect all on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I think as its same company one single pattern of shortcut key can be maintained. It is sometimes clunky to use perspective tools. Adobe Illustrator is robust software with lots of features which doesn't make it suitable for beginners who have no knowledge about Adobe softwares. When using adobe illustrator it consumes ram on your device which always makes it crash unless you upgrade your computer to higher graphics card.

### "Review for Adobe Illustrator"

October 14, 2022

The experience of using the program is very distinct, despite the difficulty of learning and its complexity in some cases

Pros

This program provides many opportunities and possibilities, especially associated with drawing shapes and applying high techniques to writing. The most important thing in the program is its ability to create a shape from scratch.

Cons

The main problem with the program remains that it deals with some types of unclear letters, as well as the Arabic language. There is a difficulty in working in the Arabic language

### "Robust and Customizable Design Software"

July 20, 2019

5.0

Overall, Adobe Illustrator is a really robust software that allows you to make truly original designs. Frustrating at times since it is so detailed and not very user-friendly, it takes a long while to get used to using and watching a lot of YouTube tutorials. However, once you get used to it it is a fantastic tool for innovation and design.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is an extensive and very customizable software. On Adobe Illustrator you can really get as creative and as detailed as you would like for your designs. Adobe Illustrator is an empty canvas for creativity and innovation, as it offers very little pre-made designs and photos at their disposal for users. Adobe Illustrator is not for people who want to design something quick and simple, but for someone looking to make truly original and comprehensive digital masterpieces. When one learns how to navigate Adobe Illustrator, it makes for a truly unique and useful software that allows for creativity and originality to flourish.

Cons

One thing I wish could improve about Adobe Illustrator would the user-friendliness. It takes a really long time to learn what all of the buttons mean and all of the features that Adobe Illustrator offers. The toolbar doesn't do a great job of indicating where certain features belong and I've found myself spending upwards of hours searching how to do a simple task. There is no automation whatsoever on the software, which means you sometimes have to spend hours doing a menial task such as outlining a photo. Ultimately the lack of automation is due to the highly customizable nature of the software, but for novice designers, Adobe Illustrator is very intimidating.

### "Best option for large scale printing"

August 16, 2018

5.0

Adobe Illustrator is offered by Adobe as a standalone app or as part of Adobe's Creative Cloud suite of applications, all via a subscription. It is well worth it since you get the best of Illustrator combined with the benefits of being always up-to-date in terms of features and security.

Pros

I used to use Photoshop for all my creative and printing work. Until I got introduced to the power of Adobe Illustrator. I now use this for all my large-scale print projects. It is an obvious choice for vector images editing and creation. Photoshop images I created got pixelated when super scaled up. Illustrator has the same look and feel of the familiar Photoshop. This made my transition easy since the navigation of the app is familiar as well as the icons and tools. The support is great both in terms of available documentation, books, and a community of users online. There are many tips and tricks available on YouTube as well.

Cons

Illustrator can be a bit demanding in terms of computer hardware so make sure you have more than the barebones computer model (best with dedicated GPU/graphics card). For beginners, there is a steep learning curve to use this as the toolbox and menus can be intimidating at first. But those familiar with Photoshop should be fine.

### "Absolutely Necessary"

November 27, 2018

5.0

Awesome. I was super scared of Illustrator before I learned it in college because it has so many abilities and so many tools, but once I got over that learning curve, it became my most-used program for design. It makes me look like a much better artist than I really am because of the amount of control I have over the program.

Pros

Illustrator allows me to create designs and have full control over them. I am able to implement just about every idea I could possibly have to any design I could think of. Illustrator is a great tool that has become 100% necessary in the design community. Illustrator is best used for creating things like logos, large illustrations, ultra-high-quality designs, and other similar things. I love the amount of control I get with Illustrator.

Cons

I don't like using it for multi-page designs. My coworkers tend to like Illustrator more than InDesign, so I often get templates for projects like booklets or things like that that include lots of type layout. I do not like using Illustrator for extensive type layout. It is not a type layout program, it doesn't handle type as well as InDesign. I also don't love the inconsistencies from Illustrator to Photoshop. For example, when creating a clipping mask, the layers that clip each other in Illustrator are the opposite of the order of the layers in Photoshop. I understand that, conceptually, it makes sense the way they are, but for someone who's often switching between the two, it can become just a bit of a pet peeve.

### "Not for the faint of heart"

March 6, 2019

5.0

I have a love-hate relationship with Illustrator. I'm mainly a desktop publisher, not a graphic designer. If you haven't been properly trained and are not too ambitious, it'll get you from Point A to Point B effectively. I do not recommend this program for any sort of layout or desktop publishing work, because it's not that user friendly. Though it's really great if you need to make a logo or edits to a client's pdf (as long as it was created in a compatible software). Though you still might be missing fonts or links.

Pros

I like that there are so many things that you can accomplish with Illustrator and all the functions available.

Cons

You really need some training in order to use it properly and effectively to really get all of its functionality. I can get by with what I know, but I also know I'm leaving a lot on the table because I haven't been properly trained. It can get frustrating at times, but it truly is the powerhouse go-to program for graphic design.

### "Excellent Design Software"

May 21, 2021

5.0

Illustrator allows our amateur team to produce professional-looking books and journals. We have received compliments on our high-quality design from readers and writers alike, and the design quality (facilitated by Illustrator) helps us to sell more books and issues. We love what Illustrator does for us!

Pros

I am a founding editor for a regional press and literary journal. When my team founded the press and journal in 2010, none of us had extensive design training, though one of our members had taken a class in publishing design. He recommended that we use Illustrator to create professional-looking publications that would do justice to our authors' and contributors' work. The team agreed to adopt Illustrator, and we have never looked back. Despite our lack of formal design training, we are able to create books and journals that look just as professional as those produced by any of our regional competitors. We are pleased with how much we're able to do using Illustrator.

Cons

There was a steep learning curve for us because we lack formal training. After a few issues, however, we had figured out how to use the software and the design process became much easier. Now, it's relatively quick and painless -- and our product keeps looking better and better with each new book or journal issue.

### "The Best Vector Drawing Tool you will find in the market."

July 9, 2018

5.0

A very powerful and reliable Vector Drawing tool. I designed my firm's logo using it!

Pros

When we speak about Adobe, we always expect quality, and Adobe Illustrator is not exempt of this. As old as I am, I remember designing my Firm's logo using the first version of Adobe's Illustrator (Somewhere around the 80's) a logo that still remain, and that I have enhaced over the years using newer versions. Nowadays you can find a few freeware vector drawing softwares that are not bad, but not as powerful and reliable as Adobe Illustrator. I also love experimenting with Vector Brushes (Adobe has a wide variety to choose from, and many users have designed their own, that range from free brushes to paid ones, some of the paid ones are quite sophisticated and fun to use!). Even though Graphics is not precisely my area of expertise, I have been able to deliver what I needed using Adobe Illustrator (And an extensive amount of Youtube tutorials to learn properly). I definitely recommed people to give it a try, all Adobe's softwares include a free trial, check it out and see if it fits your needs, I am sure it will.

Cons

Adobe Illustrator delivers great quality, although, I am an old man who sometimes struggles to be able to understand some of the technical concepts, the newer versions have a lot to offer but learning how to use every tool properly can be a little demanding, specially at my age. Adobe Creative Suite can be a little bit pricey but I must admit it is worth it. And this is definitely a must have for anyone in the Graphics department.
