### "Great for making scientific figures pop"

December 13, 2019

5.0

It is a powerful tool for creating figures that look different than the others out there. It is great for changing the fonts and other design tools that are so common with other data presentation software like excel and Prism, so that your figures look unique while still displaying the same type of data. IT doesn't slow your computer down like other graphics processing software can do. The only real downside comes when you get to complex functions that have little online instruction or support, and also the cost of the product itself which makes it prohibitive to distribute to all users.

Pros

It is highly versatile for enhancing graphs and charts, even for making heatmaps look better for data presentation. It offers the ability to do everything from small tasks like changing the font and grid line styles from the boring ones used in standard applications, all the way to advanced functions like altering color schemes for gene expression figures. We use it primarily for scientific figure making in order to make figures that other applications can't.

Cons

The simple features are easy to figure out, but more advanced features can be difficult to learn on your own and require someone to train you. The tutorials often are not very helpful, probably because there are so many different ways that each function can be used depending on what the final application will be. Additionally, the software is a bit pricey and so not everyone at the institution gets to have a copy.

### "Keeps getting better"

February 8, 2019

5.0

I've been using Illustrator since about CS4 and it just keeps getting better. The tools they add seem to go along with design trends that make a multi-step process into a simple one-step process (i.e. the new gradient tool). Even after years of using Illustrator I feel I have not unlocked all it's potential. This isn't to say some of the tools are too complicated to use but that there are so many features I can get plenty of advanced tasks done without even tapping into the full potential of the software.

Pros

It's packed FULL of features. There are no limits to what you can accomplish. The cross-platform integration is flawless. I love that I can create artwork on my iPad and open it directly in Illustrator without any issues.

Cons

I had one issue with an update where I had to uninstall completely and our outside IT company had to change some permissions to get it to update. It can also, get a bit laggy the larger the file becomes but that is expected.

### "The strength of Illustrator is its capacity to manage massive, intricate files."

January 18, 2023

5.0

Overall, Adobe Illustrator is an essential tool and well worth the cost for any professional designer.

Pros

Professionals in a variety of industries, including graphic design, fashion design, and product design, frequently use Adobe Illustrator, a potent vector graphics editor. With the help of the software's many tools and functions, users may precisely and quickly design intricate images, graphics, and layouts.

Cons

The capacity of Illustrator to handle large and complex files without the computer slowing down is one of its most remarkable characteristics. Additionally, the software easily transfers assets across programs thanks to its strong integration with other Adobe products like Photoshop and InDesign.

### "Best Software To Design Professional Graphics"

April 11, 2020

I am a freelancer and YouTuber. As a freelancer user satisfaction is a very important part and Illustrator helps me to create eye-catching graphics which can full-fill my clients need. As a YouTuber it also helps me to create eye catching Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Posts. It also helps to create my YouTube Thumbnails and also helps to design high quality Display Pics For my social accounts. Without Illustrator it is impossible to run my daily-cycle of work.

Like every product of Adobe, Illustrator is also one of the best Software with a lot of tools and features in it. It really helps to create professional Graphics like Logos, illustrations, T-Shirts Designs, Posters, Flyers, Brochures, Cards and much much more. ### "Adobe Illustrator - A must for vector based graphics "

February 19, 2021

5.0

There is no other product on the market that lets me be as creative and meticulous. Being one of the industry standards lets me work together with a lot of creative people.

Pros

After using Adobe Illustrator (AI) professionally for more than 12years, it's still one of my most important tools for creating vector based graphics. AI is packed with powerful tools to modify shapes, colors and text, which is perfect to create posters and logotypes. Over the years my most used feature is the ability to create Svg-graphics for animations online. AI brings the long term stability that is necessary for every professional that doesn't want to learn a new program for every project.

Cons

Even though AI is a part of Adobe's Creative cloud and importing/exporting work between the applications is easy. I dislike that some of the hotkeys differs which makes the workflow choppy at times.

### "Must have program for Designer"

February 19, 2019

5.0

The best must have program for all designer. It has all feature to create from flat icon, logo, simple 3D character, etc. You just need ti explore all the feature and keep learning to create something new.

Pros

I love how adobe illustrator can create multiple vector project and beautiful design without any worry to scale it up or down because it is vector, so the quality is perfect for any medium. It has a lot features for designer to keep learning to create a new things. From creating a 3D vector until flat icon, create character, logos, etc. This is a must have program for all designer. It is easy to use and very efficient too.

Cons

Sometimes when you try to add drop shadow to an object, the program will run really slow and sometimes you worry that it will crash and never saved your previous project. It does crash on me a few times. But I believe it's a bug error that can be fixed.

### "Adobe AI - Considered The Benchmark For A Reason"

March 7, 2021

5.0

I have been able to create logos and social media templates with this program and don't think I could look anywhere near as professional without it. I will keep using it for the foreseeable future.

Pros

The best feature of Adobe Illustrator in my opinion is the range of brushes and colours available. It's very use to use and navigate, especially with the help of some online tutorials. Ample textures and patterns to play around with which are very helpful when creating artwork. It has a user friendly interface and a lot of shortcuts that makes creating digital work a simple task, as long as you have the concept ready in your mind or in sketch form. You can create vector forms with ease. Great compatibility, especially with Photoshop. Adobe Illustrator is essential software for anyone who wants to make vectors including captivating logos that can be scaled to any size which is critical for small business marketing. It also makes light work of 3D graphics once you learn how to do it.

Cons

The brush tool can sometimes cause some annoyance, it should be a bit more flexible but the movement can be rigid. This adjustment would make freehand drawing a breeze. It can be useful to create outlines and draw certain objects but it's not as fluent as the pencil tool or pen tool. What Adobe Illustrator requires is a brand new tool, something that brings together all the pros of the Pen Tool, the Pencil Tool and the Brush Tool. Their flexibility, the ease, the options of various textures. If an imperfect shape is created that isn't entirely closed by it's outline it can make colouring the inside quite clunky so some way to circumvent this would be helpful. Understand that this can be down to user error with creation of the shape but sometimes Illustrator seems to create the shape imperfectly when you are left to scratch your head as you made it in a way you thought was flawless. Fixing this could really reduce the time spent creating vector artwork.

### "Grafica vettoriale professionale"

February 16, 2023

5.0

### "Adobe Illustrator make it easy used to high quality artwork"

March 28, 2020

5.0

I like it very much. It's used too easily and works faster using several time-saving. Adobe Illustrator is used to creating a variety of cartoons, art, charts, animations, diagrams, graphs, logos, banner, flyer, sketch, postcards, posters, mock-ups, icons used within the help of any website or apps. I have created a vector design this is awesome for us. Also like such as many colors, curve, fill, shape and thickness are great. I like it, especially for pixelation. This creates large images such as a billboard sign and more.

Pros

1\. Basic shapes and paths. 2. Vector prowess and raster capabilities. 3. Drawing tools: Pen and Pencil tools, Curvature tool, select and edit paths. 4. Capturing inspiration for vector art got easier. 5. Easily save any type of format. 6. Image Trace tool is awesome used for raster images like the pros. 7. Pattern brush to a path is a good instrument.

Cons

Adobe Illustrator is the best software for edit, artwork and more. But sometimes is slow work down my computer. But I used it better at any time. I like it better and feel free to use it.

### "The only vector program worth using"

February 15, 2019

5.0

I am a visual designer and will use this program with every project that I do, from branding to animation, to typography.

Pros

I may be bias because I am a lifetime user of Adobe Illustrator, but this program can do everything. It is by far the leading program of it's kind and is continuing to do things that blow my mind. From creating illustrations, to designing business cards, to saving out JPGs for the web..outside of raster there is almost nothing that it can't do. My number one favorite thing would be the quickness of the program, there is no lag and is ready before you're finished doing whatever you're doing.

Cons

It did take me a good 6 months to really start understanding the program. Granted, that was about 6 years ago, but for a newbie to get into it there is definitely a learning curve. Youtube Youtube Youtube and you'll figure it out in no time.

### "A staple design application for any designer"

September 22, 2020

5.0

Overall, there isn't any other vector-based design application I would want to use over Adobe Illustrator. It's really the ultimate staple for any true graphic designer and it's the basis for where the most standard design basics begin.

Pros

The Adobe products are really the original design products and will almost always be the most up-to-date when it comes to features and improvements. The other good thing about using the Adobe products is that since they are the main product used by designers, you can usually be assured that your documents will be compatible with other designers and companies since they will most likely be using Adobe as well.

Cons

The only downfall to using the Adobe products is that they are priced to match the fact that they are the best. There are discounts for students and businesses but it could be hard to afford for a personal user or a very small company.

### "It is a perfect program for professional design."

April 17, 2018

5.0

Pros

\- Works with virtually any type of graphic file: PDF, EPS, FXG, Photoshop (PSD), TIFF, GIF, JPEG, SWF, SVG, DWG, DXF, and many more. - Apply dynamic effects without affecting the underlying artwork, so you can edit it at any time without starting from scratch. - Edit objects using isolation mode, which allows you to temporarily edit your selection without altering other areas of your illustrations. You can isolate any type of object. - Images may require less disk space than a bitmap, images formed by flat colors or simple gradients are easier to be vectorized. The less information to create the image, the smaller the file size will be. - They do not lose quality when climbed. - Objects defined by vectors can be saved and modified in the future. - Some formats allow animation

Cons

\- Vector graphics are generally not suitable for encoding photographs or videos taken in the real world. - The data that describe the vector graphic must be processed, the computer must be powerful enough to perform the necessary calculations to form the final image. - As much as an image with vector graphics is built, its visualization must ultimately be translated into pixels.

### "My Favorite Tool for Design"

February 13, 2019

5.0

I constantly use this product. It's my favorite program for digital art because of how clean and precise everything I make is in addition to being able to completely resize my work in a second. I do lots of work at a small, easily manageable scale for proofing, then have to scale up my fork for production and it's never a problem. I will continue to use this product for the foreseeable future!

Pros

This program offers so much even at the base level. I was able to pick it up quickly and as I learned more about it, this program became my #1 choice for design work. It gives me the precise results I need and integrates perfectly with any of the other Adobe programs I use on a daily basis.

Cons

I work with very large formats (covering things like tractor trailers) and sometimes the limits that I can produce things at force me to transfer my art to another program, but that's not a problem any average user would experience.

### "Best Vector Software"

August 27, 2022

5.0

You cannot be a designer without good knowledge of the software graphic basics and in these terms, Adobe Illustrator is one of the main pillars in the field. Highly recommended.

Pros

For 15 years now I work with Adobe Illustrator and I find it handy, full of features, and highly professional. For a graphic designer, it’s a must-have software.

Cons

Maybe it needs some improvement on its capability to interact with other software, out of the Adobe family.

Switched from

[CorelDRAW](https://www.capterra.com/p/124823/CorelDRAW/)

CorelDraw had some difficulties interacting with the Adobe family, so, I found it useful to jump on Illustrator. I’d never regret it.

### "Nothing Compares"

September 29, 2022

5.0

You don't get better than Illustrator. It's simply the best graphic/vector design software out there. i love that there is some competition and others are starting to compete, but nothing is really even close at this time. Each year illustrator gets better and better.

Pros

I love that it starts easy and you can quickly do some basic tasks, but it can literally do anything at all and it's limits simply do not exist.

Cons

The learning curve is a bit steep to be honest. There is a lot to wrap your mind around. Maybe because I grew up on Photoshop, I have to adapt to Vector parameters, but it seems a bit challenging at times.

### "Great Software for Illustrating a Variety of Products and Services!"

March 27, 2021

5.0

Pros

What I like most about this software is the absolutely vast collection of tools which can be used in order to digitally illustrate a product or service for business use or virtually anything else, whether it be for business or personal use. I very much like the fact that this software offers a wide palette of colors which can be used for the task at hand, a large amount of effects and filters that could be applied towards the piece being worked on, as well as the fact that the software can memorize virtually every edit which was made towards the piece, allowing for a simple method of detecting which specific edit can be altered or removed in order to make the final result look better. Lastly, I like the fact that this software is compatible with both Windows and Mac, which allows for smooth transfers of files if you are sharing the file with someone who uses a different operating system than you are. Overall, this is a great software and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who may be interested in trying it out.

Cons

There is honestly not much I have to report on the negative front when it comes to the functionality of this software, but if there was something I would have to pick as something that could make the software even better, it would be the cost. The cost of this software is a bit more pricey when compared to similar alternatives, so if the cost would be lowered a bit, that would be great. Other than that one aspect, not much more to report on.

### "Make you easy to choose Adobe Illustrator "

May 24, 2019

4.0

Actually I’m a daily user of adobe products which related with editing and designing applications. Illustrator can highly recommend to any person who want work with vector design making. There tool content provide a easy way to make those design as you wish.

Pros

The different type tool catalogs help to design logos and more creative design of flyers, banners.. etc. When you familiar with those tools, it make more comfortable with creating design more than Photoshop and other applications. Also you can manage the tools according to your needs.

Cons

Adobe illustrator working interface is sometimes difficult to handle for beginners. Because there interface shows too many tool to user compare with photoshop and other editing resources. Also you have to find the best way for your work among the many type of editing methods. Because this app need some practice to get better outputs.

### "Shortcut key lovers, this app is for you."

June 29, 2020

5.0

When I m done with paper work, I sit down and work on illustrator. Love to play with colours and patterns with my logo. And updated version are much more easier to use.

Pros

We are living in flat design era, and creating a vector images with perfect pixels is important as Client demands. If you have lots of work to finish in a short time than this app will help out. Easy to handle and and updated version have suggestions provided in tools. If a graphic designer can imagine it than he can easily create it's vector image on illustrator.

Cons

Software is quite heavy, rendering takes a little bit time and if you don't have Graphic PC or laptop with atleast 8GB RAM than its not gonna work. It works only in windows 8.1 and windows 10. Laptop get heated soon and it's also show low storage and doesn't respond. 3D model is difficult to handle in this software and.

Adobe Illustrator allows both artists and non-artists alike to work creatively in software that allows for limitless possibilities. The only thing the user has to know is the software and the imagination.

Pros

In my opinion, the software isn't difficult to use but it's difficult to master. There is just so MUCH functionality that enables the user to do whatever they need to when illustrating a logo, background, website, or more!

Cons

It completely eats your RAM and all of your computer's resources. I had to request a more comparable computer to keep up with the system app.

### "Best Tool for Vector Creation and Editing"

January 17, 2020

5.0

I like Adobe Illustrator more than Photoshop for many reasons. Adobe illustrator is much easier to use, especially for beginners like me and takes up far less memory (RAM) while the program is running. I have used Adobe Illustrator to edit my company logo, create posters and add branding to all the company media and documents. With Illustrator, you can easily create or edit pre-existing vector images to change the scale, shape and rotation. I especially like the pen tool because of its ability to create very accurate shapes using anchor points. Adobe Illustrator is essential to my weekly tasks at work, however, recently when exporting files, it has taken a very long time and then crashed. They are constantly pushing updates though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I would recommend Adobe Illustrator along with the entire Adobe suite to every graphic designer, it is very well worth the cost.

Pros

I like Adobe Illustrator because of its vector editing, precision with curves using the pen tool, and compatibility with Mac. It's great for creating flyers, posters, invitations, ID cards and business cards.

Cons

It is really difficult to edit non-vector format files. To edit image files such as png or jpg, you must use Photoshop. It is best to purchase to entire Adobe Suite because you will probably need to use Photoshop or Indesign in addition to Illustrator.

### "Adobe Illustrator is a must-have for anyone interested in Graphic Design or Illustration"

December 21, 2018

5.0

I've been using Adobe Illustrator the last 7 years and the features only keep getting better. They keep designing new features to help alleviate common issues and to help designers cut their workflow.

Pros

I prefer to design in Adobe Illustrator over Photoshop because it creates vectors instead of images. Vectors are absolutely necessary for logos and scaling designs easily without pixelation issues. You can use illustrator to create graphics for both print & web design. One of my favorite things about Illustrator is the pen tool and the amount of control you have to create paths & shapes. It's nothing like Photoshop's pen tool, it allows so much more freedom!

Cons

It's definitely a learning curve for new designers, especially with the recent updates. The workspace can become cluttered at times. I also wish they had text/character formatting similar to InDesign.

### "Could not live without Illustrator"

February 18, 2019

5.0

Overall I really enjoy using Illustrator. Once you learn the program it is easy to use and enjoyable.

Pros

I love being able to create professional vector illustrations, logos, and graphics. I also enjoy using illustrator for layout for simple print collateral designs. At my job I do a great deal of communications work, along with my administrative work. I’ve heard of Sketch and other software other designers use but I’ve stuck with Adobe products because they’re such good quality.

Cons

The price is pretty intense. You get tons of software programs with the Creative Cloud membership but it’s a monthly cost. I wish that Adobe would cut the price down if, for instance, someone signs up for a whole year.

### "Review of Adobe Illustrator by a Creative Director, Graphic Designer and Web Designer"

March 14, 2019

5.0

I've used Adobe Illustrator for ten years or so and only like it more and more every year. You can be fast, efficient, accurate or rough. I recommend running it on a high spec machine with a good graphics card and memory, but other than that - a good experience overall.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator basically lets you create anything for any platform or medium. I like that about it. There are obviously better programs for photo editing or brochure creation, but the fact that you CAN produce nearly everything is great - it's a good weapon to have in your arsenal. I like how accurate you can be. How it easily snaps. How it has a nice logic. How easy it is to duplicate artboards and artwork. How easy it is to paste in place to create variants and batch edit artboards.

Cons

Even when my desktop PC was new and high spec, Illustrator used to crash periodically - especially when I had been using it intensely for a couple of hours. Closing the program completely and opening it again would solve the problem. Annoying, but not the end of the world. I have to admit that a recent update to Adobe Illustrator may have fixed this. Sometimes I wish it would handle bitmap (jpg, png) images a little better - i.e. without bloating the file size and slowing down saving, etc.
