### "Illustrator"

January 11, 2019

5.0

Illustrator is great and I use it in a professional setting as well as personal on a very regular basis. I think they are on a great path with an excellent product.

Pros

I love how easy to use this software is. I've been using it for over 10 years and the controls are very intuitive. They routinely provide new features to make things even easier.

Cons

I think that Image trace could work better. I use this feature a lot and have to go in and clean up a lot of lines typically. It would be nice if they could make it look less like a watercolor.

### "The right tool for the right job"

November 18, 2019

5.0

Illustrator has been my go-to program as a designer in museum settings—I love that the graphics translate to any size or destination easily and that it's easy to change the overall size/shape/resolution/ color space with a few clicks.

Pros

Illustrator is the industry standard for creating vector graphics and illustrations, so it goes without saying that you can outsource files easily and share with other designers if you use Illustrator. With Creative Cloud, the program is updated frequently with new features and offers a quickie tutorial every time to let you know what's new and how to use it. I love being able to design a variety of different-sized ads for the same campaign in the same document by using different artboards, being able to share a color/ element library between Adobe documents, and being able to scale everything up to wall-sized. The gradient tool is also fantastic.

Cons

When I first started using it, the learning curve was steep. It seems intuitive now that I'm very familiar with Adobe programs and have spent many hours in Illustrator. It's not great for setting large bodies of text—I definitely use InDesign for that instead. But it is easy to take text set in InDesign and copy/paste it into Illustrator. It does not autosave, so save your work frequently.

### "A necessity to use with PhotoShop!"

July 23, 2019

5.0

Together using both Illustrator and PhotoShop, it has given me a seamless opportunity to create and edit designs for everything for my business. They're both set up the same in UI functions, so it was easy to learn and pick up on. It has made making all designs simple and yet fun!

Pros

The ability to use Illustrator alongside of Photoshop is what I love the most. I design a lot of logos, banners, flyers, and headers for my company every week, and PhotoShop and Illustrator are the best options. I love that I can start my design in PhotoShop and then take it into Illustrator to add the finishing touches, and vice-versa. The features of Illustrator is the best around. There should be no question on using this!

Cons

Not too many cons for me on this software, other than the price point. However, Creative Cloud does offer this, at an additional price. I wish the price for the standalone software was a bit cheaper.

### "A must have professional illustration tool"

April 25, 2019

5.0

It's a great tool but it takes time to learn.

Pros

Illustrator is a table stakes for every designer. If you're in a design profession then you need to know the Adobe suite including illustrator. I know a lot of designers that only use photoshop and they are severely limiting themselves if they don't also use Illustrator.

Cons

Illustrator is not great to UI/UX design but Adobe now had XD for this, but I don't use XD for UI/UX design either. I use Figma which is a much better project IMO. The one thing I hate about all Adobe products (including Illustrator) is the icons and shortcut keys between all the products are different on every platform. Adobe will use the same icon on Illustrator, Photoshop, and In design but the feature will function differently on all platforms. This makes it very hard to jump between platforms and or learn a new Adobe product.

### "Take graphics to the next level"

November 2, 2022

5.0

Pros

Illustrator is the thing to use if you want to design custom infographics, flow charts, graphs or charts, or any other graphic element to insert into a publication, presentation, or website. Unlike word or PowerPoint, this is meant to create custom graphics so there are no limitations to things like shape or font alignment or to the type of shape that you can create. It really helps you take things to the next level. You can also import all kinds of files from different programs - like ArcGIS - which means that you can have the power of geospatial statistical analysis while using Illustrator to improve the visual quality. This makes a huge difference in producing high-quality professional looking products.

Cons

The graph and chart tool is not the best, but it is definitely better than the basics found in Excel. If you're looking for really powerful data visualization, go with Tableau or Power BI.

### "Best Vector Art Software"

August 6, 2019

5.0

My overall experience with Illustrator is great. It's software that I use practically every day as a graphic designer.

Pros

I love that in Illustrator, you can design basically anything you want with the abundance of tools and filters provided. It is my go-to software for any brand development, illustration, or simple document creation. I also like how it integrates with other Adobe software. For example, you can copy and paste a vector illustration from Illustrator into Photoshop. When you need to edit the vector, simply double-click the art, and it will open in Illustrator for you to edit. The possibilities are endless with Illustrator.

Cons

The only thing I do not like about using Adobe right now is their subscription model. I would rather go back to purchasing individual software versions and purchase new ones when I'm ready. Everything is subscription-based these days and it gets incredibly expensive.

### "Adobe Illustrator "

April 3, 2019

5.0

This is a really good product for doing graphics and art.

Pros

It has so many features. My favorite feature is the ability to create and edit my own art. I like the way the work space is laid out and the way I can customize the work space (the window on the screen). I have been able to create vinyl signs and regular art work to export to CAD and cut on the CNC at work.

Cons

The only thing at first that I did not like was how overwhelming it was to learn at first if you have no other graphic software experience.

### "Brian illustrator"

February 12, 2019

4.0

For me it is the premier design program - also photoshop. But it’s my go to for 75 percent of my design projects & they do incorporate short cuts into the upgrades which is awesome

Pros

Good overall features for designing anything as vector graphics. I like designing presentations in illustrator importing photoshop/web images & creating pdf’s.

Cons

When adobe upgrades the program it seems to exclude/edit down some previous features I enjoyed using. And it also can become a pain having to relearn some of same features from previous versions

### "Nothing better"

June 14, 2019

5.0

Pros

I can't imagine doing what I do without Adobe Illustrator. It makes design so much easier, and that's not to say there's no skill involved, but using Illustrator allows you to enhance those skills. It saves so much time. The tools are fantastic and comprehensive. I've tried using other programs and they just don't math up to how intuitive Adobe's programs are.

Cons

They changes some of the shortcuts on us. And I don't have to pay for it, but I can't imagine freelancers like subscription service.

### "A graphic designer's review."

November 20, 2018

4.0

I'm graphic designer and illustrator makes my everyday job very convenient.

Pros

it is easy to build shapes and vectors, and the file can be easily enlarged or minimized. I like the feature where you can link your images and keep working on the image in an other software. Also, the file can be used in other softwares like after effects and you can simultaneously work on the ai file.

Cons

It is not convenient to set a gradient like adobe photoshop and the file becomes heavy if you used embedded images on your artwork.

### "I use this software professionally. I'm a UI / Ux designer, graphic designer and web designer. "

July 14, 2018

5.0

You will be able to draw quick and simple vector graphics. You can do the preparation of the press documents. Draw graphics which you can use for mobile, graphic and web design.

Pros

All I can think of is I can draw in Adobe Illustrator. I used it most to draw the logo. Today I use it to draw various graphics and icons that I use to design mobile and web applications.

Cons

The older version is much more complicated than the latest version of CC. Previous versions had tiny letters in the menu and it was difficult to do some simple things.

### "Necessary tool for digital art"

October 9, 2018

5.0

Pros

The software has greatly expanded it's features, and is slowly becoming an all-in-one program for graphic art. Although the learning curve can be frustrating, the outcome is worth it. The tool is pretty limitless and is necessary for providing digital assets at a high resolution, especially with more web pages accepting vectors.

Cons

The learning curve is pretty big for this tool. The shortcuts are different than InDesign and Photoshop, and can be frustrating when switching between programs.

### "Rely on this Product Everyday"

I've used illustrator for my job for 8 years now and the tools and ease of use have been incredibly reliable. I've been able to design some beautiful work using Illustrator and I couldn't imagine using anything else for my illustration and vector work.

Pros

I like the consistency of this software the most. It has been comforting throughout the years for me to built a routine with and I can always count on the tools I use on a daily basis.

Cons

Updating to the cloud a few years ago with more features but recently this has crashed on me several times and it's frustrating!

### "The best tool in terms of base designs or logos."

May 17, 2018

5.0

I'm getting used to this editor but the potential that I discovered with him is incredible, you have more than thousand ways to translate your ideas.

Pros

It has an editor that allows you to create the most detail but what you need, from your logos to the template presentations and its vector design editor is the best, it is very easy to use once you get used to it.

Cons

It offers an excellent graphic design but it is not very intuitive, it is difficult to learn to use and many times you get confused about the many tools it offers.

### "Best vector graphics tool on the market"

November 27, 2018

5.0

Once you understand how to use Illustrator, you will see that it will be your go to tool for many graphics solutions. It works well on even moderately spec PCs and the if you encounter a problem, the support on the web is easy to find.

Pros

A must have software for anyone in design: - Great selection of tools for illustrations and UI design - Many resources on the web for help and online courses to get you started or learn advanced features - The property panel allows fast access to the most useful settings and saves searching thru menus - Easy to learn if you are familiar with other Adobe software - Versatile, allows you do perform tasks such as simple diagrams, logo design, UI design and even CAD or 3D

Cons

Not much to dislike: - Relatively expensive software - May take some time to get started (but after a while you can see how intuitive the UI is) - Export to Photoshop can work better

### "Use it everyday!"

May 6, 2018

5.0

Pros

Nothing else compares to the adobe creative suite. As a graphic designer I have been using illustrator for 15 years. I do miss the old model of buying the software out right. The cloud version can be expensive if you are freelancing. However, for businesses the ability to manage seats online for a team is fantastic!

Cons

The online chat for customer service is probably the worst customer support I have ever experienced. I don't know who they out source it to but the people can be clueless!

### "100% Vector"

November 26, 2018

5.0

Pros

As I am working in the advertising industry, This Adobe Illustrator software is considered as the master of all vector software available in the market. This one software can do almost anything you can or designer imagines off with ease. Therefore, for me, I like everything about this software.

Cons

There is nothing bad or least like about this software, but sometimes some people send us Corel files, if this software could integrate that too then it will be the next level for us at times.

### "Adobe Illustrator Review"

December 9, 2019

Illustrator is a great resource for designers. It allows you to design freely, and be creative. It take a while to learn but if you put in the time, it will make your job much easier.

Pros

I love how much you can do with this software. I use it daily for Graphic Design and it helps me accomplish my work so much quicker than anything else.

Cons

This software has so many options available and I still haven't explored them all. I've been using it for 7+ years. You have to take the time to learn everything and get updated on the new updates.

### "A web developer's dream image editor"

May 15, 2018

5.0

Pros

It is so rich in tools that misusing it to produce bad quality artwork seems almost impossible. I love its ability to create clear vector images as well as give you output options such as saving as JPG, PNG or GIF. This comes to be very handy when i'm designing my websites allowing me to produce quality work.

Cons

Too me a bit of time to get to know how to use it as compared to other image editing software but once you get a hold of things then you appreciate the time taken to learn it.

### "Illustrator is amazing!"

January 10, 2018

5.0

I've made many awesome products from the product and owe it many thanks for helping me make dreams come true.

Pros

From pencil to production, AI makes it possible to create whatever you need in a vector format. Vector is better for production than bitmap because it can be enlarged or shrunken to any size without losing resolution.

Cons

The application frame gets a little bit messed up when moving back and forth from a monitor to a laptop which can be a little bit irritating, other than that it's a truly awesome product.

### "Seeing your sketches come to life..."

February 15, 2021

4.0

Overall, Illustrator has a plethora of options for creation. Compatability is great. Adobe Illustrator can handle many different types of image files which makes working on complicated projects seamless.

Pros

I like starting off by sketching a picture on a blank piece of paper, taking a picture of it and transferring it to my computer and then place the image in Adobe using the placement option on an empty 1920x1080p canvas. I realky like template mode which automatically adjusts the image allowing you to enhance the outlines of your image. The pen tool is great as well.

Cons

There isn't much to dislike about this program but if I had to say something negative it would be the learning curve. You can't just jump in and get going.

### "Depending on your designing needs, Illustrator could be the obvious choice"

March 26, 2019

5.0

Pros

It is so powerful, you can create anything if you have the time and training! There is so much I still don't know how to do, it goes on and on and on. Even though people like doing posters and mockups in Photoshop, I love Illustrators ability to easily group and move objects in layers and create new artboards, the smart align features is great (except that it doesn't always align items with strokes in the way I want them to be :(). Read on for my main dissent.

Cons

Here is the deal, if you are doing basic layouts and mockups, you should consider doing Sketch. I have never used it, but it is clear that the industry is really liking this product, and that it is more affordable. It also has UX integrations that Illy currently doesnt have if you are in that space. I have spent so much time learning Illustrator, I am sticking here!
