July 6, 2018 5.0 Pros Adobe Illustrator is by far THE BEST vector design software. I have always found it to be extremely versatile, easy to use, and trustworthy - It never lets you down! I also like how it is always being improved with regular updates. From 3D graphics, vectors, illustrations and even photo editing. It is absolutely easy to use due to its intuitive user interface. It is also supported by multiple operating systems. Cons Takes up much of the computer resources thus slowing down other processes. It requires a very high level of proficiency to be able to make use of the software's full capabilities. I use it primarily with a GIS add-on to work with spatial data and build polished maps, but I've also made logos, built signage, worked with PDFs and design files, and tons more. I like that if you speak Photoshop you can start out ok in this, and at least be able to keep your head above water and get work done. Cons I wish that it flowed a little better between photoshop and illustrator - it's not exactly the same, and I get that, but it would be really nice if there was a way to work back and forth between them a little more quickly. February 26, 2018 5.0 It helps me and my team develop creative print, web, and social media design solutions for clients at our advertising agency on a daily basis. Pros I work for an advertising agency. I love the versatility of this program. From business cards and vehicle wraps, to digital web banner ads and presentations, this is our go-to favorite! I prefer it over photoshop and InDesign, because I'm able to manipulate vector artwork, with the addition of place imagery, with ease and see all of my designs in my workspace, in one, simple overview. Of course I use photoshop for image editing and InDesign for multi-page layouts, but Illustrator lets me quickly has out all of my ideas in one file, on multiple artboards. It remains my favorite, go-to program. Cons Although it's great to be able to package files, I still don't like the clunky functionality of and "red tape" that you have to go through when re-linking files, one by one, vs. to a folder. April 11, 2020 5.0 Overall Adobe Illustrator is an excellent software. I use it every day and it's very user friendly. I'm able to create logo designs, posters, digital paintings, etc. I couldn't imagine not having not being able to use this software. I love it. Pros I like the versatility of Adobe Illustrator. It's very different from using photoshop. I used photoshop a lot in the past. Over the years I've transitioned to using Illustrator more for all of my graphic design projects. It's very easy to use. I can create custom logos and typography projects while adding in my photography and without having to sacrifice quality. Cons I think that the software works very well. If I were going to change something I would add the ability to create and export custom fonts within the software without having to use any third-party extensions or exporting to another software. I have never had a print quality problem, which is my first and most important priority when designing for print. Pros What I like most is that output from Adobe Illustrator is vector graphics, and comes out at perfect quality, even on our 2880 DPI large format printer. Easily accomplished more complicated designs but have since moved on (and backwards) back to older non-subscription Adobe software since their new stuff is stuck in frustrating and drugged up on online connections. Pros Full professional suit for the powerful small or large business solution for graphics editing and predictable usable design tools. Illustrator ties into Photoshop and other Adobe standards easily offering good reason to rope into the stupid subscription pricing. This software has a long history (as far as software goes) and few names survive thru decades of ever changing and others coming up with better applications. All this proves the reasons Adobe carries on with Illustrator knowing it offers tons of functions for working up the right product and taking care of business. Cons The minimal costs being tied into subscription pricing completely ruin Adobe products for me. Not only is there a lot of wasted downloads on the CC and support Adobe demands Illustrator tie into but the average basic budget business computer gets real annoyed with all the junk I have to download alongside. I'm have completely stopped using Illustrator and have reverted to older Photoshop and other solutions like Pixlr and web-based design tools for my work. The online drugs Adobe products now have to be on are frustrating and negate all the classic reasons to get Adobe - easy installation, powerful tools without lag or issues, just so simple! November 23, 2018 5.0 Even though I'm not someone with any graphic design experience, I found Adobe Illustrator great to use as I was able to get a lot done with this. I'm very impressed with the content that I was able to create using this and would highly recommend for others to give this a try. Pros What I like most about this software is that it is not just for graphic designers! It can be used by pretty much any person in any field. As someone who's in the field of social work, I didn't think that I would find Adobe Illustrator useful. However, I was once assigned a project that required me to use it to create a visual poster. I created a logo for a program and a banner using Adobe Illustrator and it came out absolutely amazing! Cons What I liked least about Adobe Illustrator is that Adobe does not provide any official guidelines as to how to get started on the software. New users are left on their own to figure out how to do what they want to do. I was able to easily fix this problem by searching on Youtube how to create a logo and a banner. Overall, anyone out there who is interested in learning to make simple yet effective designs, must definitely try this one. More over they have recently launched an iPad version. What else do you expect, your workflow would improve tremendously, If you are one of those who pops out of bed in the morning to illustrate. Designs become a fluid work instead of having to "start over". Adobe Illustrator is a well-developed platform that is virtually error-free and once opened works without delay. The multiple flyout menus are consistent with Adobe Photoshop so it integrates well with or without Adobe Bridge. Cons The pro's come with a price. For those on a limited budget, the Adobe Suite can be difficult to afford. Once purchased those it will meet your needs and last for years. Pros the advantages of using adobe illustrator is 1) it is having lot's of features 2) it specially like the isometric and 3d setup. 3) lot's of features than other similar softwares, which is a plus point. 4) comes handy when working with whole adobe suite like after effects. 5) curvature tool is the best tool it have. Pros Everything, honestly. The possibilities are endless. I started by learning CorelDRAW to get down the basics, then eventually transferred to Illustrator. I am able to highlight specific features to increase my workflow, as well as create my shortcuts. Being able to access my CC library lets me bring any design to any other CC programs and do not require copy and paste. The best thing is that once i make changes to the original vector in Illustrator, any other file with the specific vector is automatically updated! BANANAS!!! Cons This program may seem overwhelming to those barely starting, however it is easy to pick up. Adobe even provides tutorials, step by step teaching on how to get the most from Illustrator. Sadly, it does not provide persistence, determination, and effort.
