### "Easy enough for the beginner, but capable of so much more"

December 5, 2018

5.0

We're creating eye-catching content through Illustrator while also sprucing up day-to-day communication. More than satisfied with this software and would gladly recommend it to others.

Pros

I like the fact that with minimal experience, I've been able to create and design items necessary to push our organization forward. Meanwhile, the members of our team with higher design IQ's can dive deeper and create some amazing content through Adobe Illustrator.

Cons

With such a significant amount of capability, the basics can quickly get lost in translation. Simple functions can be made more difficult than they need to be because of a plethora of advanced options.

### "Illustrator since 1987"

September 26, 2018

5.0

Still using it, can't be without it.

Pros

Working in the Trade Show Exhibit industry since 1987, it wasn't long until we started to see artwork setup in Illustrator, mostly important for allowing for clean reproduction with out breaking up along the edges. No more excuses for lousy graphics!

Cons

Although I'm not a graphic designer, I wanted to have AI installed on my desktop so I could see what the art dept was going to see. It allowed me to make suggestions to the client, before we went to print. I learned just enough (to this day) to get by. Oh, what did I like the least? Nothing

### "Powerful Graphic Design Software for Pros"

February 17, 2021

5.0

Adobe Illustrator is extremely versatile not only in what you can accomplish, but also in its features. It has all of the tools necessary to delivery a professional level product, and, when paired with Adobe's world-class customer support, it is our company's no-brainer go-to choice for graphic design.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is extremely versatile and has so many features. It's tools are relatively intuitive to use and can be deployed across a variety of platforms (desktops, tablets, etc). The ability to dynamically link assets across Adobe programs is also invaluable to what we do. It's ability to interact with the cloud is also extremely important for our workflow.

Cons

Probably the only thing I would count against Illustrator is the significant learning curve it first requires to understand how it functions. However, many of the tools are similar to the rest of the Adobe family, so if a user is already vaguely familiar with Adobe, the learning curve will be less significant.

### "An illustrators best tool"

December 6, 2019

5.0

It’s smart, complex, and well made. It’s tools are powerful and have made digital creation a breeze.

Pros

Illustrator has been around for a very long time and you’re be hard pressed to find someone who is into digital illustration that doesn’t know about it. It has a massive toolbox for creating just about anything you want and it’s all vector, making it easy to scale your creation to serve any purpose you need. The tools are smart and work together seamlessly. There are a lot of digital illustration softwares out there but Adobe is the best for professionals. Export options are complex and useful and after some time, the interface and shortcuts become second nature to the user. I’ll never use another software for digital creation and vector work.

Cons

There are SO MANY tools at your disposal it can be daunting at times. However, there are thousands of online tutorials and many from Adobe themselves to teach you how to use it properly.

### "I love Adobe Illustrator! "

July 28, 2020

5.0

Overall my experience with Adobe Illustrator is great! I'm happy the company I work for provides us with high quality programs to use to make the best work we can for our clients!

Pros

There is so much to love about Adobe Illustrator! This software does it all! I use it daily at my job as a graphic designer - my absolute favorite thing about it would be the image trace feature. It has saved me so much time in creating high quality, vector artwork from something low quality provided by a client.

Cons

I personally feel like using Pantone colors in Adobe Illustrator is a bit difficult and could use some updating to become easier and more user-friendly.

Cons

Not sure I have any cons, other than there is so much here that I feel like I will never really be a true power user.

Overall I have been very please with with Adobe Illustrator. It works well and has been good for our team to use.

Pros

I love illustrator, it just works. I use this software literally every day for something. I love how easy it is to use and how flexible it is.

At first it was hard to learn to use, but once I got the hang of it I literally use this daily for a lot of different applications.

### "Adobe Illustrator is still the gold standard of design tools. "

November 14, 2017

5.0

Adobe products are still the gold standard of design software. Adobe Illustrator has helped me to take my design business to the next level because the quality of the product allows me to push the boundaries of my creativity, and it never lags behind.

Pros

I use Adobe Illustrator for creating clothing patterns. Because the software is so precise, I never worry about my measurements being off (unless I make an input error) Once I learned how to use the tools, bringing my paper designs to life was almost effortless. I easily move from drawing to grading and then seamlessly into other Adobe products like Indesign to complete my projects

Cons

The learning curve is C-R-A-Z-Y, but it's absolutely worth it if you stick to it. I prefer the days of the one-time purchase. While the subscription service is a little easier to swallow month to month, the overall price that you pay even after just a year of use dwarfs what you would have paid for the stand alone product.

### "The best vector design program ever."

August 29, 2018

5.0

Adobe Illustrator is the one of the keystone applications I used to develop and create digital art. There is no buyer's remorse after getting Illustrator.

Pros

Illustrator is a powerhouse compared to other applications. It has an immense amount of tools and commands that allow you to put your design onto a digital canvas. Adobe's layout and continuity of their applications allows photoshop users to adapt to Illustrator with ease.

Cons

Illustrator despite a mass amount of tutorials online, can be difficult to master. You will never fully learn every command in Illustrator as you will tend to stick to the most comfortable commands. Illustrator's shortcuts are somewhat different to other adobe programs, and having to switch back and forth is sometimes a hassle.

### "Fairly steep learning curve, but the gold standard for page layout, design, and copy editing"

April 29, 2020

5.0

Adobe Illustrator is central to my role. I use it almost daily in laying out reports in a visually stunning way.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is an amazingly powerful page layout software. If you can think it, you can lay it out in Illustrator.

Cons

Be prepared for a fairly steep learning curve. I found myself having to look up how to do even some seemingly basic things, though once you learn it's fairly intuitive.

### "I use Illustrator for pretty simple, lower skill level, vector images. "

May 24, 2018

5.0

Pros

Illustrator is really the best solution I'm aware of on the market for creating and editing vector images. It has pretty much every feature and functionality that anybody could need. I'm not aware of anything else that is more complex and has more features. I have been able to get Adobe CC for free under a student license, and I've learned the basics with it. The .ai format is standard, the software runs well.

Cons

Because Illustrator is the best vector software out there, it has a TON of features. I barely know how to use most of them. Sometimes I catch myself getting stuck trying to accomplish something that I think would be basic. There is definitely a ton of content out there to help teach you how to use AI, and I've spent a lot of time viewing it all, but if you were to just jump onto Illustrator for the first time I would be surprised if you were able to do anything at all. Big big learning curve.

### "Best Tool For Vector Creation"

April 5, 2018

5.0

Pros

The thing I like most about Adobe Illustrator is this robust tool, once you've had some practice with it, is the best tool for creating vectors. There are some built in capabilities that are seemingly magical- being able to take a bitmap graphic and convert it to vector with a click of a button that look pretty good out of the box.

Cons

The thing I like least about Adobe Illustrator is its greatest asset is almost its greatest downfall- it sooo robust. That the learning curve is quite steep when just starting out. Its not a very easy tool to teach someone either.

### "Illustrator is the best piece of software for editing vectors"

May 16, 2019

5.0

I do a lot of graphic design and often encounter simple images that benefits from being made or converted into a vector format. Here Adobe Illustrator simplifies this process. I do no longer need to worry about conversion of .SVG-files or how fonts are handled. This has made vectors less frustrating and is no longer a part of projects i dread.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator can do it all! Compared to other programs for editing vector graphics this is all you ever need. Vectors can be a pain to edit, especially when compared to raster images. I have yet to encounter a problem with vector editing that Illustrator could not solve. While good free alternatives exist, I have yet to find one that solves the issues of editing and autotracing as well as Adobe Illustrator does.

Cons

Illustrator has a steep learning curve. Like other CC apps from Adobe the sheer amount of tools can be a bit overwhelming at first. The price of the software is my biggest concern. While it is the best program out there, you also pay an amount that reflects this.

### "Robust Software for the Creative Mind! "

January 17, 2020

5.0

I was hosting a semi annual gala and used this software to create my flyer and add a weblink to it. I was never able to fully accomplish that task, but with the right guidance could probably had made a beautiful flyer.

Pros

I love all of the possibilities this software offers! The templates it has makes it easier for the amatuer designer to create websites, flyers, signs, etc.

Cons

This software has A LOT of features. A lot of them I felt that I needed to take college courses to master. Some features are hard to figure out how to use. I also had a hard time uninstalling it!

### "Industry-Standard, But Unfair Business Model"

July 18, 2021

5.0

The Illustrator software is excellent, however the business model is among the worst in the industry.

Pros

Feature-rich, fairly intuitive, and stable, Adobe Illustrator is the industry standard for graphic design for a reason. It's also updated quite frequently with new features that often don't appear in competing software solutions for months, or even years, if at all.

Cons

The problem with Adobe Illustrator doesn't so much lie in the software itself as it does in the business model. Adobe only offers Illustrator through a pricy subscription model, something they can only do because of their monopoly-like hold on the industry.

### "Best program to vectorize images"

May 10, 2019

4.0

It is a software that is easy to understand, with simple commands and many useful tools, in general has been a pleasant experience of use. In my company we do many graphic design jobs where using this tool is indispensable, from retouching low resolution logos to create complex vectorized images, thanks to this software we can generate a constant cash flow in our company.

Pros

I like Adobe Illustrator because images may require less disk space than a bitmap, also images formed by plain colors or simple gradients are easier to vectorize. The less information to create the image, the smaller the file size. One of the best utilities is that all images created with this software do not lose quality when scaled. Objects defined by vectors can be saved and modified in the future. Also that Adobe Illustrator allows you to create animations from certain formats is an excellent plus.

Cons

One of the few things I dislike about this program is that vector graphics in general are not suitable for encoding photographs or videos taken in the real world. In many cases a powerful computer is needed because the data describing the vector graphic must be processed to make the necessary calculations to form the final image. No matter how much an image is constructed with vector graphics, its visualization ultimately has to be translated into pixels.

### "I have always preferred Ai in majority of my design projects. It's very user-friendly!"

November 10, 2017

It's ease of use. As a graphic designer for four years, I have always preferred using Adobe Illustrator in most of my projects. I don't get "lost" while using the software, even when I first used it back in college.
