### "The Standard"

September 26, 2018

5.0

I have used adobe products for over 10 years now.

Pros

Adobe is the standard in the industry for a reason. All of the features you want are there.

Cons

Real time effects and effects layers ala Affinity would be awesome.

### "All Day Every Day"

Pros

There almost nothing I need to get done on a daily basis that I cannot get done with Illustrator.

Cons

It can sometimes be hard to find a function that I know is there somewhere but don't use every day.

### "Mjölnir of Illustration Software"

December 15, 2020

5.0

Pros

Illustrator is extremely feature-rich software! Adobe really has made tedious processes as easy as one-click. It's a very powerful program and is my go-to for most creative projects that I work on. It's also integrated perfectly into the Adobe Creative Cloud so there's no need to convert to various filetypes before using your Illustrator files in other applications.

Cons

There is a very steep learning curve. The tutorials that Adobe pushes to help you learn are far less effective than some of the brilliant users that put tutorials on YouTube.

### "My Favorite Program"

November 20, 2018

5.0

I only wish I had gotten more familiar with it earlier on. I spent years doing everything in InDesign, but the right tool for the right job makes a big difference.

Pros

Very versatile- I use it for designing print layouts, creating storyboards for digital media, and even editing CAD files and floorplans.

Cons

Funny enough illustration work is the one thing I have not quite got the hang of. Drawing digitally with a brush in Photoshop is just so intuitive that using the equivalent in Illustrator has yet to feel as smooth. I would like to get to that point though, as I prefer most of the other tools available in Illustrator.

### "Adobe Contants Improvements Solidifies My Loyalty"

September 24, 2018

5.0

A core piece of software for my business.

Pros

Adobe has made it easier and easier to use adobe illustrator over the years. I think my favorite new feature has got to be the asset export. The ability to export a design elements in nearly every size and format you could possibly need will save you hours of work.

Cons

I am not necessarily a Sketch person as the learning curve is steeper then I would like to participate in but nothing neats how easy sketch makes it to design for mobile. It's ready to use elements/artboards/frames makes designing several smaller components easier then illustrator.

### "When it comes to graphic design, there is no other!"

August 23, 2018

5.0

As an intermediate Adobe Photoshop user, and an avid video editor using Adobe Premiere, making the transition into the Illustrator workspace took some adjustment. Adobe does a great job using consistent terminology across software, which helps users familiar with other Adobe software make the jump into Illustrator. With experience on other Adobe product, I was able to navigate the UI and rather quickly start to create designs with basic functionality. With additional training, I have been able to create more complex graphic designs and logos.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator does a fantastic job at packaging powerful graphic design and vector art creation features into an intuitive interface.

Cons

There is quite a learning curve for those unfamiliar with Adobe software, especially when creating detailed or in-depth graphical pieces.

### "The one and only vector graphics solution!"

January 1, 2020

5.0

I am a graphic designer, In a weekly and daily basis I use Illustrator to create logos and icons.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is hands down the best vector format graphic design software to date! I have been using this software on a daily basis for the past 10+ years. Its ease of use and powerful vector tools put this program ahead of the competition. There is so much support and plugins for you never stop learning on ways to use the same tools you love to use.

Cons

An area where Illustrator could improve is the way an object is reflected. This can easily be corrected by the addition of separated "Flip" icons.

### "One of a Kind"

December 8, 2018

3.0

Pros

Obviously Illustrator is great for creating vector graphics but potentially not the greatest anymore.

Cons

With new cloud based tools coming out so frequently, illustrator feels clunky and out of date.

### "Best graphics tool for designers "

March 31, 2018

4.0

Pros

The tool is really powerful and allows you to create rasterised graphics to use for print or digital use with the maximum quality. You can easily export from .ai to exchange formats to work with Photoshop or open them with Acrobat.

Cons

You need to have some knowledge before being able to use it and take the most out of it. It can be intimidating for the non-experienced user, that's why previous training is recommended. If you work in the localization industry you'll need a third-party plugin to export the text as .xml then import it back.

### "Adobe Illustrator: The Gold Standard for Vector Graphics Editing"

July 23, 2021

5.0

I personally found Adobe Illustrator very useful. It is great for making practical designs . That said, for individuals and small businesses I think it makes sense to use free vector graphics software instead (such as Inkscape) because a subscription to Adobe can be very expensive.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is an incredibly powerful tool that is undoubtable to the best vector graphics editing tool out there. I most like the incredible amount of different tools it has.

Cons

I found it difficult to learn how to use it properly. There are youtube videos and tutorials out there, but because there are so many different tools and features it can be difficult to know where to even get started.

### "An essential piece of design software. "

October 5, 2018

5.0

It's a great tool. Shareable libraries make working as a team easier than ever!

Pros

Creating vector illustrations an important part of any designer's workflow, and Adobe Illustrator is the de facto software for accomplishing that. I love setting up my workspace with the pallets that I use most often and getting a really custom-feeling set up that does what I need it to do.

Cons

The subscription fee (compared to being able to just buy it and have it and own it) is frustrating with Creative Cloud Suite, but it does mean "free" updates so you don't have to worry about your software being out of date.

### "Illustrator separates the amateurs from the pros"

December 8, 2019

5.0

I've been using Adobe Illustrator since version 5.0. The improvements over the last decade have kept the Adobe product line at the top of the list for professionals everywhere.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is the premiere industry standard for vector graphic illustrations, logo designs, and print quality layouts. There are many features to integrate with other Adobe apps.

Cons

The learning curve for this is very high. It is easy to accidentally click something and a menu bar has vanished, or the screen layout has been altered and you don't even know what you did to have made that happen.

### "Simply the Best"

July 28, 2020

5.0

It's the only software I need to get all of my projects done.

Pros

I use Adobe Illustrator every day. It's how I create everything I do and it is the sole software that provides me with everything I need.

Cons

The software is constantly updating which I like, but if I had to say something that I least like about it, it's that I'm always playing pickup with the latest updates.

### "Great Product but pricey"

February 12, 2019

5.0

Illustrator is a top of the market vector art tool. Creating, editing, managing, merging, and many other interactions with different layers make it an essential tool for more artistic elements in prints rather than data driven graphics like maps and graphs

Pros

Illustrator provides an incredibly detailed set of tools for working with Vector graphics. In the GIS field this is especially beneficial in cartographic design situations and map adjustments.

Cons

The program is extremely pricey for what it does. If I could go with GIMP or another FOSS and still have the ai format and transferrability I would.

### "Best way to create vector files "

November 12, 2019

5.0

Very good, I use Illustrator every day to create badge for our dealers, making logos, vector files, printing material and creating icons!

Pros

All the capabilities are amazing. You can create pretty much anything using illustrator. The sky is the limit! Very very versatile

Cons

Maybe the color picker, in Photoshop its super easy to use color picker to apply the desired color to any layer. However, in Illustrator, you have to choose the color --> add it to color palettes and work from that moving forward. I started off learning photoshop first and never understood why Illustrator didn't have the same user flow!

### "It takes some time to learn, but after that, Adobe Illustrator can simplify your design process."

October 12, 2017

5.0

Pros

All of Adobe software products are similar. They have a simple layout that matches most of their other design platforms. So if you learn how to use Illustrator, you can use InDesign, Photoshop, and other Adobe products. It's also very dynamic because you can design pretty much anything. I've designed watches and other products using the photo-realism technique. But I've also designed logos, icons, and eBooks using the same product. Like I said, any design need you have can be accomplished with this software.

Cons

The biggest con would probably be how much time it takes to learn. It just has so many features and tools that it can feel very overwhelming to someone new to the software. In that sense, it's not very user-friendly.
