### "Powerful system, but expensive"

February 9, 2018

4.0

Pros

In order to try to create a site on Magento, it is not necessary to buy an expensive tariff - at first you can use the free version. This is very convenient, because you can, without losing money, to assess whether you are suitable for this application or not.

Cons

Magento development system is very resource-demanding, besides it is expensive. But those who need a powerful multifunctional online store, this will not stop.

### "Stable system"

June 1, 2019

5.0

Pros

There are never any errors or failures in the system operation. It has a large number of extensions to customize the internal and user interface, thanks to which it became easier for me to use the platform.

Cons

It synchronizes with few platforms and would like their numbers to increase in the near future. Setting up the system was very difficult and took a huge amount of time.

### "Useful and Efficient"

January 9, 2018

4.0

Pros

\-user friendly when inputting orders or new customer accounts for multiple orders -searching accounts is easy, by using the customer's name, email, or prior order number -issuing refunds / cancelling orders is very easy. Also, easy to re-send customers order invoices

Cons

\-always double check the refund information before clicking submit, because there is no undo button -sometimes software updates lead to glitches or errors, but the glitches are rare.

### "Great software hard to understand"

July 21, 2017

4.0

None so far, we have not yet been able to understand how to program with this software. However, I understand that once overcome this obstacle can develop excellent eCommerce platforms. We will continue to try to learn more about this framework

Pros

Magento is one of the most well-known eCommerce platforms today and with more implementations so it is easy to find companies that work with it. It has a lot of add-ons and can help you to have an online store in a professional way.

Cons

The biggest problem we've had with Magento is how difficult it is to learn to program under this framework. Our company is a software development company and we still had great difficulty learning to use it. Additionally with each update we are in need of starting our learning process again. To become an expert in this tool means that you should devote all your time to it, which is not productive for us since we must be involved and updated in several technologies at the same time.

### "Magento 2 Ecommerce Features "

December 14, 2016

5.0

Magento has one of the most extensive features lists you will ever find in terms of e-commerce software. It's the exact reason why the rates are so high and why all the Magento customers are large corporations. Everything from marketing to customer segmentation is included. Standard features come along with the open source Magento, so you can work on search engine optimization with tools for Google sitemaps, Google Content APIs and search engine friendly URLs. Marketing and conversion tools include coupon codes, customer groups, product bundles and newsletter management. The list is truly endless when it comes to features, but here's an overarching breakdown of the most important areas: SEO Marketing, promotions, and conversions Site management Catalog management Catalog browsing Product browsing Checkout, payment, and shipping Order management Customer service Mobile commerce Persistent shopping Private sales Gift registries Store credits

### "Should be on your top list if your building a commercial online web store."

December 13, 2016

5.0

I have used Magento for over 5 years. It is one of the best opensource applications for starting an online shop/e-commerce. Be advised, you need to know what you are doing if you are to use Magento, unlike other stores I find Magento does not do too well on shared hosting. It is recommended you use VPS, cloud or dedicated. Plugins and extensions for Magento are always over priced, so expect to pay more if you want to extend Magento beyond the default setup. Programming or theme customization for Magento is difficult so you will have a huge learning curve to understand it.

Pros

Has everything you will need to start an online store and start selling. Easy to extend with plugins and extensions

Cons

Plugins and extensions can be expensive compared to other applications. Need an advanced knowledge of programming and web applications to do own theme customization or programming

### "Good platform"

March 24, 2019

5.0

Pros

The information in the platform is organized in such a way that it is easy for users to read. Provided a huge variety of functions. Standard templates allowed us to save a lot of time during development.

Cons

The initial setup of the CMS took us too long. Constantly there is a pop-up window at my login. It can be difficult to fix some problems yourself.

### "Complicated code, too many different files for one task, good backend."

September 15, 2017

3.0

Learned something about open database structures, about MVC-modelling, but lost a lot of unpaid time for debugging a little changes.

Pros

The backend is well done and has no need to be extended, normally. It includes a complete product management system which could replace a local ERP-system. Very wide spread software. Beautiful templates available.

Cons

Too much time needed to get results, customizations require extreme amounts of ressources. There is not only one way to reach a goal, but many - hence you need to search lots of places when you want to change a template or a functionality. Will never use it again.

### "Almost the most popular CMS"

February 19, 2018

5.0

Pros

It's free. The engine itself and some modules are installed at no additional charge. A large number of built-in methods for working with currency, discounts, prices, reports, etc. There is an opportunity to create several online stores at once. Access to HTML and PHP code is available, which allows for more flexible customization.

Cons

I do not like the lack of a full Russified version. All documentation is written in English, so when you study it you need at least basic knowledge. There may be problems when configuring payment systems.

### "In this era of electronic commerce, Magento is a very complete and reliable tool."

June 16, 2018

5.0

Good application for the management of inventory, customers and transactions of electronic commerce

Pros

I think it is a very complete and robust electronic commerce tool. I also like the support in several languages.

Cons

In spite of everything that I like, it does not seem an easy tool to install and intuitive, it requires some experience to be able to understand it.

### "Too little provided in the initial app"

June 26, 2018

3.0

Pros

Magento is a powerful platform with lots of options for businesses of all sizes and styles. This flexibility makes it a great choice for marketers.

Cons

Magento alone isn't enough. And the amount of 3rd party apps we discovered we would have to pay for to make it work for our omnichannel business meant it would not help us be profitable.

### "Flexible and scalable online shop"

February 13, 2019

5.0

Pros

Open source platform, that means you can easily change the source code according to your needs. Magento has many features that are not available in other online shops, for example you can manage many stores, languages or locations, and based on that set for example different price of the product. There is a big community that can help solve problems. Also there is a huge amount of extensions and themes available for your store. And it's scalable.

Cons

The cost of the license is not cheap, but you can treat it as a cost of having your own business, this is your earning machine. It's not easy to get into the code and create your own extensions. The dedicated server should be used for hosting a Magento based shop.

### "A Bit Confusing"

January 5, 2017

3.0

Magento has a lot of potential, but it was confusing to use and there's a lot of features but you can get lost in them. Not the best but not the worst, we didn't have a great time using it so we don't anymore, but it has a lot that others probably could use it just wasn't for us

Pros

Enterprise level can manage a lot of inventory and customers

Cons

Maybe a bit too much going on, confusing interface

### "Purely intended for eCommerce."

February 3, 2019

5.0

Pros

There's few options when it comes to opening an eCommerce site. It's either WooCommerce or Magento. WooCommerce is a Wordpress plugin whereas Magento is a standalone platform solely intended for eCommerce — meaning it performs faster and is more reliable when serving a vast amount of users.

Cons

Magento's plugins and themes can be expensive and hiring a developer to manage it can become mandatory at times. The default Magento interface is not the most attractive, and the plugins and themes available for the platform may seem limited compared to other platforms such as Wordpress (which powers 30% of the sites on the Internet).
