From an end user point of view it is very easy to use and familiar for email, documents and files. It works the same as the outlook or hotmail staff are used too. Cons It is at times rather heavy, and the web applications swell as teams or outlook desktop can be sluggish. Its a shame as if it was snappy it would feel worlds ahead of anything else. I couldn’t imagine work, or even my personal life, without it. This subscription is 100% worth it. Pros Microsoft 365 is the essential set of work tools. From Outlook to Word to Excel, these are programs I use daily. And then I store everything I create and edit in OneDrive. I love how useful everything is. Cons No cons to report. Microsoft 365 works best within its own ecosystem but each individual program can be used on its own, elsewhere (iOS for example). If I had to choose something, I believe the default settings on over reliant on the cloud. But even that is easily fixed! I like how things are broken down, that things are most of the time where you expect them to be and with a little training and support you can become pretty efficient at the platform. Pros I like how everything is broken down in M365, the different blades have exactly what you expect to be in there. Being multi-tenanted makes managing the portals harder and also results in MS licensing charges to each company. Migrating to one tenant has become somewhat convoluted, and this is impacting the business. Pros Ease of access to product, new functionality, everyone uses MS tools so it makes it easier to work with partners/suppliers. Online material to assit with training, problem solving and working examples. Cons The billing and the complexity of licences and the nature of needing these to access certain applications, such as MS TEAMS. Cons Annual subscription plans can be costly. While it is feature packed with a lot apps comes with the subscription, it may not be cost effective if not all apps are utilized. I find the security features often interfere with functionality and are unintuitive. The UIX is pretty pitiful and they are constantly changing the names of features which can be confusing. As I know someone who works at microsoft, I think this is likely a silo effect of the company which is large and not well integrated. Nevertheless, as a shared drive it's very useful and the security is essential for our team's data. Pros Team integration is very valuable and obviously integration with the tools that our team uses everyday is helpful. Cons I personally dislike teams meetings very much. I think the platform is inferior to Zoom and often is glitchy with a poor interface design. Pros The best thing about Microsoft 365 is that you get an entire ecosystem of products-kind of like Apple's but instead of hardware, you get an ecosystem of softwares. This is very useful as OneDrive, Word, Excel everything is connected and especially with Teams integration, it is a much better workspace ecosystem than Google's. Cons Some things that I don't like about Microsoft 365 is that even after such a long history of Microsoft as a company and best developers talent, some of their products like Word and Powerpoint have a very poor user experience and are quite inferior compared to Google's Docs and Slides. Cons Doest work well on Macintosh. Doesnt use system short cuts or doest take in account of the whole mac ecosystem works. Keep getting error msg when trying to save. In our office we have 2 main computers that we use and its so nice to be able to not have to manually share the file but rather it just be connected via the one drive. Microsoft is so easy to use. We used to use the google drive for most of our needs but since switching to Microsoft we haven't regretted it. We pay for the monthly subscription and it just makes it so much easier on us and I love that that is an option! Cons One con that I have noticed is that for some reason ours tends to sign us out a lot but that also could just be a setting on our end not 100% sure. Pros Honestly, I can't think of not even one positive thing to say nice about Microsoft as it has been now 3-months that I've been unable to access my Microsoft 365 Business acct, as I've repeatedly telephone, sent several email correspondences, left messages and to know prevail. So, if anyone knows of any better and more proficient and user-friendly software other than using Microsoft 365 then I suggest using another company b/c you'll be alot better off b/c Microsoft 365 personal or business isn't what it hypes customer believing it to be. First, it isn't at all user friendly, nor clear, and the customer services is terrible which I'm being nice to use the word "terrible" and not the words I really want to use for their poor, unprofessional, unknowledgeable, poorly trained customer service department; left alone it's under-developed non-user-friendly software; referring to Microsoft so-called authenticator app that works when it wants to. Although I've repeatedly told their software I didn't have access to my Authenticator therefore to send me the code another way, their system still sent me instructions to enter a code using the authenticator app, even though I'd just told it I didn't have access to the stupid app. So now I simply don't know what to do since I'm unable to access my business email via Microsoft 365-Business, and if that wasn't enough I have scheduled business meeting, facilitating online webinars and hosting annual fundraising charitable events, as well as communicate with my customers via my business email address; and yet I have no access, and no-one seems to care about assisting nor willing to help resolve my dilemma that is costing me money for every day I'm not able to access my business Microsoft 365 account in order to respond to my guests and customer. Cons Transitioning from onPrem to Cloud with real time saves in apps like Word & Excel was a learning curve when multiple departments use the same docs / spreadsheets. Also apps like Teams and OneDrive helps a lot in real time collaboration. Cons Some inconsistencies between classic and New Outlook. Also variations between desktop, web and Mac can sometimes be a a pain in terms of how to find where the features are if you are used to have it in one Operational System most of the time. September 6, 2025 5.0 Wonderful really - Microsoft sometimes gets a bad rap from people because of one problem here or there but generally speaking their products are good. Especially Microsoft 365. Pros I like the completeness of the package. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook all working seamlessly together. For those more advanced throw in a little Access. Most of the business world uses Office every day so it almost required knowledge. But what I like best is Outlook - it is an amazing product to help manage email, calendar, tasks, notes and probably more than I know what do to with. Cons Least - There was a small quirk a few months ago in Excel where I was helping my daughter with some homework for her MBA. We had to sort data based on specific parameters which worked on screen but showed us the wrong sums of the data. Easy to use, lots of information online about the features and different ways to use it, it's got access to spreadsheets, word, powerpoint and more so it's got everything we need! Pros It's got all our most used programs in one place with online versions of everything. It's easy to use, familiar to our users and easy to troubleshoot any problems. Cons It can get expensive when you add more users. Having a monthly fee per user instead of a big overall payment with multiple users can add to costs when taking on new staff members.
