And, I think it gives me an edge over the competition. Pros I've been a Microsoft user for three decades and I've seen a lot of changes but this new update with Office 365 is my favorite ever. The entire suite just keeps getting better. Everything plays well together in seamless transitions from Office 365 online to my desktop applications. They just upgraded my premium account OneDrive to 1 TB. And, in October, 6 people will be able to use the applications and each person can have the software installed on up to 5 devices. That's an incredible service at a low monthly price. Especially now that I'm a freelancer, I appreciate the affordability of this excellent professional product. Cons With the last update, it tripped me up just a little because I thought I lost my desktop applications in the update but it was an error on my part - I had not completed the setup. June 8, 2023 5.0 The fact that we can sign in and use Share Point makes things so much easier. It is also helpful for our staff to be across the board on formatting etc to stick with our branding. We are grateful for an easy program. Pros Having a family licence is very handy, and it isn't much more to upgrade per year. The fact that you can save to the cloud, there's no worry on losing a document, your drive crashing, losing the flash drive etc. Office suite is so accessible through 365, it is a no-brainer to use it. Being accessible on all platforms, operating systems etc as apps is extremely beneficial. Cons The new Outlook does not transfer your personal folders - which is annoying as I would like to use the upgraded features. I love being able to use all the latest Office features. This is so much better than buying a version and soon being left behind. Pros I love that Microsoft 365 gives me the use of the latest versions of all Microsoft Office apps. As an author, I mainly use it for Microsoft Word, but I also use Excel to manage my mailing list, keep my budgets, and more. I also love that it comes with 1 tb of cloud storage on One Drive. I actually decided to upgrade that to 2 tb, but the price for the use of the software and the cloud storage is phenomenal. Cons The one thing I would like fixed is the fact that on my Chromebook, One Drive is read only. I haven't found a solution for this. I'd like to be able to edit my documents on my Chromebook as well as my PC, and I can't do it directly from One Drive. Over time has paid for itself by replacing DropBox. Pros Was good to migrate to from our previous email software. Improved delivery and the management of the email which was the reason we changed to it. It also came with benefits of other software included in one easy price. Cons Sharing of what was available, because we self implemented we didn't have anyone pointing out that we could save money by getting rid of DropBox and switching to OneDrive. " May 2, 2019 4.0 Office 365 is integrated into everything we do at work, and having the ability to have everything synced and able to get on different devices is so great! Pros Within the last couple years we switched the agency over to Office 365. Office 365 is cloud based and it makes it great for so many reasons. We have 3rd party authorization with it, which always feels secure and being able to login from my laptop away from the office and use it on my phone as well has been so great! It is nice also nice because it is cloud based it is also updated monthly with the latest features and security updates. Our IT has pointed this out and said that they think it is the best option for us, which is so great! The ability to work anywhere as long as you have internet connection is so great! I can get my email or files for my phone which is great! Cons If you don't have a lot of storage on your phone, then you don't get the full benefit because you can't use the apps without them downloaded on your phone. Review Source Curran M. Pros The fact that all major Microsoft apps (Word, PowerPoint), OneDrive, AND e-mail are all in one is absolutely baffling to me. The old Microsoft Office used to be a pretty time-consuming and groan-inducing install on any computer. Now, it's fairly simple to just download and install each individual program which is incredible especially if you switch computers fairly often. Did I mention how much is included? Cons It can be a bit complicated to navigate at first. Creating groups for e-mails is somewhat confusing as well as the CONSTANT updates that are sent out. While this is nice to an extent, the fact that it tries to so often, stops the app from opening, and forces you to restart is incredibly frustrating while attempting to create an efficient workflow. It stops you in your tracks. Not to mention the apps and their updates tend to get larger and larger in file size. Microsoft, if you are reading this review, maybe throw in some BUSINESS APPS to the HOME suite, because HOME + BUSINESS mixes up! Maybe a Power BI? I saw COOL APPS on the Business suite that is not available on the HOME version. Pros Microsoft Office has evolved dramatically from being the most PIRATED Software on the Planet to being the MOST USED OFFICE SUITE in the entire WORLD. Yes, I am one of them folks who got themselves a GENUINE MICROSOFT 365 Subscription for HOME and I am loving it! I have the BUSINESS version in my office as well. Their subscription comes with all the MS Tools like Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Publisher, Outlook, etc. which is very user friendly and has ALL the features I need to get my documents, presentations, and spreadsheets done RIGHT! Cons Maybe the downside of having a Subscription based service is you have to renew it YEAR on YEAR to renew it, but what comes with it is the SUPPORT, FREE SKYPE minutes, FREE 5TB for 5 users... oh but wait, those are PROs to the subscription. In addition, I have been using Microsoft products ever since I started using a computer. I use it daily and I cannot even imagine my work activity without it. I can easly use it to execute internal documents or reports to share with my Clients, to develop projects and to share them in the cloud so anyone I want can access and use it. Simply essential. Pros From my point of view, Office 365 is a great software to organize and execute your job, probably we can say it is a "must". What I like most about this software is that almost everybody use it so you can easily share your work with colleagues, customers, providers, etc. Use the basic-intermediate features that Office 365 offers is quite easy and it allows to develop several kind of works. Cons What I didn't like of this software is that it allows you to make so many things that sometimes results difficult to use the "pro" features that Office 365 offers. In this case it is reccomendable to take some training course to develop your knowledge of Office 365 but it will probably be at your own expenses. I have found it to be very handy to work on documents quickly and easily from any device, despite some minor drawbacks I've encountered with document compatibility between the full, locally-installed version of Office and Office 365. Pros I like that it makes office functionality accessible from anywhere. You can use a tablet or surface, essentially just a browser device, and still have the full power and functionality of Office, even without a big hard-drive to do a full office installation on. Cons I find the browser interface a tad clunky, there are some files that just won't open correctly, and saving becomes a pain as you have to pay for cloud storage. I know there is an option you can purchase that gives you the full install as well, but I would prefer it if they could just solve the problems with the web access version of office instead. I can see companies failing without it as there isn't a single place that I can think of that can go a day without office. Pros There is alot that MS is offering with their suite of tools, it's amazing that you are able to get access to all of this at the click of a button. It's very easy to use and the fact that you are able to not only switch between them very quickly and seamlessly, but the fact that they integrate with one another is amazing. Cons There is very little that I dislike about this software but if I had to point out one flaw is the outlook portion o the suite, it seems to be buggy and it refreshes alot. I prefer to use the desktop client but I don't know if that is just me or if that is a problem with the software as it does it for me on all my computers and all browsers that I open it in. Outlook for email, Work for creating and editing documents, Excel for spreadsheet.Also managing Microsoft 365 is also easier after it was integrated with Azure. Cons A lot of crashes happen with Microsoft and if there is a issue happens with one application we must repair the entire Microsoft 365 instead of just that application.Also, Teams should be included in the Microsoft package and Skype should be Phased out. Word processing, spreadsheet, email, publishing, the list goes on and on! This is possibly the best all around collection of business and personal software available out on the market right now. I started using this software during the last year of my Master's program in college and found it was indispensable as I moved to my career. This will be one of the most used assets in your toolkit at home and in business! Cons The only big downside to this set of software is that the support is lacking, like many of the other Microsoft offerings out there. Luckily there a lot of videos online (made by users of course) and you can literally solve any problem by using Youtube or searching using your favorite search engine.
