Features are great, ease of use (as with prior versions of Office) is generally pretty good, but stability can be an issue. Also, and this is personal preference, I don't like having to pay so much every year for a license. Features don't generally change overwhelmingly from one version to the next (Excel 2013 is still sufficient for anything I need to do), so I'd rather spend a little more now to buy a permanent license and just have it for 5-7 years. Pros It has the most features of any version of Office, which is a big plus. I'm a heavy Excel user and also use Word and Outlook daily and PowerPoint several times a month, so having the latest features is a definite plus. Cons I don't test the limits of Word, Outlook, or PowerPoint much, so they've performed quite well. That said, Excel 365 seems less stable than Excel 2016, especially when using add-ons like Hyperion SmartView. In fact, I had to ask our IT Dept. to take off Excel 365 and replace it with Office 2016 because it was crashing so much when using SmartView. You can take that as a SmartView problem, but it's been working much better on 2016, so I classify that as an Office 365 problem. Besides cost problems, the actual capabilities of the product has limited flaws. Pros Accessibility of files and products via web anytime, anywhere. This makes it incredibly useful for folks who regularly have to work from multiple locations, on different computers. The product features continue to advance. As a mainly Word, PPT, and Excel user, implementation of AI backed capabilities continue to make my life easier. Cons Auto-save feature is sometimes too much & can overwrite when you don't want to... really need to adapt your way of use to it. I use the platform both as a user and administrator of various systems. Pros Using Microsoft Office 365 as an extension of our existing Microsoft infrastructure was a clear choice. The integration with our existing on premises systems was seamless. Cons There is a learning curve and complexity that comes with integrating any cloud based systems, software and tools. Cons The updates can occasionally break things (if you're on the fast update ring), and not all workstations in my environment update at the same speed, so features don't always match up from one machine to another. I like it because not much has changed since I started using its predecessors in the early 80's, and what has changed has been for the better, ease of use. Pros Everyone uses Word and Excel so me using them and sending documents and figures to others means no one returns emails saying they can't open it, they can't access it, or can't use it. It is easy to use and if I have questions about certain options/applications within the programs there are videos I can watch to learn from, Help online, etc. Cons I don't have anything bad to say about it. Wish it was free, but I get why I need to pay for it. Pros The program is very easy to use. You can connect with all your equipment in one place. You can also share documents, initiate remote meetings, create scheduler tasks, annotate meetings, and many other processes. It is a complete program for computers and the latest version integrates the Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access Cons In some cases errors arise with Excel. New functions do not reach all customers immediately with error correction. The Mobile Office for Windows applications has been working wonders for me. Virtually every other tool I use is SaaS/XaaS/etc., but all my document creation was still being done locally. So I had to haul around devices with me, email drafts to myself, or work with Google Docs/Sheets which limited how I could modify the document and the ultimate compatibility and readability of the end product. Office365 lets me work on professional copies of my documents from anywhere, and I'm not concerned about needing thumb drives, laptops, etc., weighing me down. Pros It allowed me to retain the professionalism of Office docs/workbooks/etc. while having the convenience of cloud accessibility. Cons Still a Microsoft tool so it works best when you're in the Microsoft universe, but several existing tools of ours integrated very well with Office365, namely GoToMeeting. It has got something for everyone in the organisation. Love it! The updates are regular and is very dependable. I have used this software for many years and helped many in the installation process which is a breeze. The fact that I can use a background in the teams video calling- it makes it my first choice for work meetings. Cons Working on One Note is a learning curve for new users. Many learners find it challenging to work on it and prefer other ways of sharing their work with the tutors. Pros i've been a user of office for as long as i can remember, and can attest that its ease of use, its variety of features, and the different types of word processors make it undoubtedly one of, if not, the best word processor software available. Cons at the outset, the office 365 bundle makes it seem that you must purchase the entire suite, but you've got to do a bit of digging to get the best value. not everyone needs onenote or excel on their computers. i also miss the keyboard shortcut for "Save As". Pros This suite of programs, Microsoft's Office 365, really is the building block of office productivity. For the majority of organizations, Office 365 includes all the software you need to accomplish all basic tasks. You can organize your calendar, email, produce documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and content. Cons Office 365 now often feels quite dated. There are many independent software solutions doing the independent job of each of its' pieces in often improved and fresher ways. I don't like to keep my email on my phone so I am constantly using the mobile web version and it works perfectly. Pros My preference has always been to web based email software as opposed to downloading tools to be used locally on my desktop. I love how easy this is to use on the web version. The integrations with applications like Zoom make it easy for me to set up a virtual meeting right within my office 365 calendar. The preview function to view attachments without having to download make it really easy when presenting as well. Cons I don't have any main cons about this tool as I mainly use the email functionality of office 365. When it comes to the excel office 365 tool this might just be a user error but I don't believe there is full functionality like on a desktop excel tool. Review Source SB Samuel B. Owner mechanic Automotive Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Office 365 was great until it wasn't" March 31, 2020 4.0 I enjoyed the software until I had a personal issue come in between my ability to renew my subscription. At that time I had issues interning my documents, or actually lost said documents and it access to them until I renewed which hurt my business running smoothly. But when all was in line and the my subscription paid, I have to say the software is second to none. Pros The features and ease of operation is amazing except it's compatibility with some older formats of the Microsoft word documents, otherwise it's an absolutely amazing program Cons The fact that you cannot have any issues with the renewal process of your subscription. I had someone steal my banking information (nothing whatsoever to do with this or any related product) and therefore I was unable to renew my subscription until said issue was resolved. While awaiting this renewal my documents which we're proprietary to my business were essentially locked and I was unable to use or obtain my business invoices and diagnostic questionnaire which essentially helped the continuity of my business logistics. It has a number of tools that will help your business to grow as Skype for the business is one of the best tools that office 365 has. We can make video conference meetings to support our business. Cons No doubt Office 365 is complete package but it has limitations like monthly and yearly subscriptions is a bit costly and also it has some applications inside that won't work without internet if you are running out of the internet. Firstly, I really like the fact that the word counter allows me to easily keep track of the amount of words in my essays. I know this is simple, but there aren't any other popular softwares I am aware of that do this, and the typical notepad doesn't. Secondly, the huge range of options all bunched into an easy to use format makes my content quality enhanced. Word will stay ontop of all other essay writing softwares for many more years. Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Overall a Great Suite of Applications" February 12, 2019 4.0 Pros Microsoft bundles quite a bit of useful software with Office 365 for a pretty great price. It's very easy to install. You just open the installer and let it do its work. Some might consider this a con which I will get to later. Office 365 offers a great way to share files among your organization. It also makes it very easy to on-board a new employee with all the applications they'll need to be production. Cons The biggest problem I've experienced with Office 365 is the fact that it all comes bundled. You may not remove, to my knowledge, just one single application from your computer without removing Office 365 in its entirety. For example, I needed to remove the newer version of Outlook from a coworker's computer due to a bug in that version of Outlook so that I could install an older version. I found that Microsoft does not allow you to do that. Therefore now his computer simply has two versions of Outlook, which is a waste of space. As I mentioned it's a great suite of applications, but if you don't plan on making full use of them, you are stuck with them nonetheless.
