As these become the portability feature I am loving the idea of web based platform and services that Microsoft is moving to. Pros Office 365 is a bundle of software bloated under the name of Office 365 with a single subscription offered by Microsoft. Best thing in it is portability and minimum installation required, It work on Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS. It come up with the different plan from personal to enterprise level, according to the need of user. Software and Service I like most in it Word,Excel,PowerPoint,Outlook, Skype, OneDrive, Active Directory and SharePoint. All the application on web platform. Cons Office 365 is tied all Software and Services together So you you don't use some software and service in your pack then even if have to pay for it. The web based application is still in development mode some time some strange issue some and when I minimize and maximize it work fine. Microsoft has nailed it especially with teams , they have the best suite to allow professionals to collaborate especially in this remote work setting where teams has found great use. Pros \- They Microsoft 365 suite is really cohesive. All of the applications work really well with each other. - Microsoft has embedded some application such as office, OneDrive within other apps such as Teams which allows users to quickly view, share stuff when in meetings or product demos. - The price is cheap, around $5 per month which is great considering the stable software suite and strong customer support for these products. - The user interface is as good as the applications. They are easy to understand and are available for web, smartphones and laptops. Cons \- So far I have not found anything bad particularly in the Microsoft 365 suite but I would like teams to be more optimized and suited for chatting. However, on its own, it does what it does fantastically well, and I would highly recommend to anyone who needs to organize and structure team assignments. Pros Microsoft 365 is a seamless hub for accessing a lot of business essentials, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc. All of these different applications interact seamlessly with one another via the cloud, and can be a great way to organize projects. It's quick to set up and works great. Cons The price point is the biggest drawback. It's definitely worth the money in the long run and it does what it does splendidly, yet there are competitors such as Google Drive that also provide similar online programs for absolutely free. It also does not integrate well with Google Drive, which makes it difficult to use in some scenarios. I'm a PC user, and I know the windows version of Outlook is much better than the Mac version - a big reason why I stay PC. Pros The software is great, and it automatically updates all the time. Cons The requirement that one be online all the time. The owner is REQUIRED to be online and sign into his account every couple months so that his account can be verified. If you don't do this, they stop the software functionality. So even though you paid for the product, it stops working simply because you don't go online and constantly verify that you are you. I have a laptop that is for working travel purposes, and I don't need it to be connected to the internet, and it's so annoying when suddenly a message pops up saying my software won't allow me to edit any documents until I sign in online. Then I have to find an internet connection - which due to my travel - is likely going to be an unsecure WiFi connection somewhere, and then I have to connect to that unsecure internet just to make my software function. Signing in for optional updates and downloads makes sense, but should not be required just to maintain current paid-for functionality! Everything is super visual and you know where each tool is located. It has a lot of functions and each one of them is very useful, tools like sharing, creating and editing tools makes everything faster and also its a complete package. You have the office tools and Teams for meetings, which is very useful nowdays. Cons Teams could be improved. Email used to be just one of those ways. Office365 pivoted the way we use email and made it the main source of communication. Right now, my day depends on my Office365 calendar as my customers book appointments via Calendly. My RingCentral phone app is also integrated so I can easily click to dial those callback numbers. I can monitor my stats even when I'm at home and email my customers even when I am out sick because of the mobile app. I started using Office365 from when it was just a very simple email software. I have seen it evolve into a full top of the line communications platform where it has been integrated with different applications. It has made my life as an account manager easier and simpler so I can focus more on my customer's concerns. Pros The ease of use of the product. It is also on-the-go because of the mobile app. Easy to integrate with a lot of apps. Cons Just like all other email apps, it has a limit for what it can keep. An email that can hold messages forever would really be a dream come true for everyone. I guess we can settle with saving them into cloud storage. There are lot of licensing models which suit your business requirement and subscription based licensing model will save your cost by purchasing them on-demand. You will get latest up to the date office products when ever available for E3 and above subscriptions and it let us install single license in 5 deferent devices. It will offer free one drive space where you can protect your important document with latest cloud storage capabilities. Cons The product will deactivate it self if you were unable to connect the product within 30 days and will not good option for offline use. This solution can provide so many different products and benefits into one subscription (an example could be Business Premium, which contains Emails, 1 TB OneDrive storage, Office desktop apps and even licensing line Azure P1 or Intune). Pros The ability use all of Microsoft's product stack, with the ability to use integration between solutions as well as 3rd party applications. Cons Besides the cost of licensing going up (NCE) like everything else at the moment, the support experience and access to it could be better. It also makes it so that I never have to worry whether or not I have a document with me as I know I can always log into the cloud and the document will always be available. Pros Office 365 allows users to login from wherever they are an access all of the documents that they need through one easy to use portal. It is very easy to view, modify, and share documents either from the desktop or through a mobile device. This is invaluable in a business that utilizes the Office suite as it dramatically increases the value of each product. Microsoft also made their Office software available to use through a web browser and offer the option to take that and open it in the standard desktop application, which is useful to have to allow workers to use whatever environment they are most comfortable in. Email management, calendaring, file sharing, document management, etc. It was convenient to have all of these features in one software and to just have one place to find everything related to work. Cons Microsoft 365 at times can be difficult to learn to use. Because there are so many features, it takes awhile to get caught up to speed on the platform. Additionally, the search feature in emails can get a little messy. I sometimes found it difficult to find past emails even when I searched directly for them. Pros The nature of my job position requires from me to check and follow hundreds of emails daily and a lot of corporate secure files shared over network. Sometimes I need to check my emails when I’m home, or I just need to take a look at the schedule. Since everything goes through a secure corporate network, even if I brought my work PC home with me, I still need to log into secure VPN in order to simply check my emails. With Office 365 I can access my files and emails from any device. And yeah, Outlook isn’t just an Outlook. It has an integrated skype for business client so I can instantly communicate with other team members instead of sending them emails. Sharepoint and all the important team files are just a click away. One drive, word, excel, powerpoint, OneNote, Flow… It has everything. We also from time to time use the Audio/Video conferencing. Use of sharepoint and one drive helps with sharing files. Plus we use all of the Standard Office Apps on a daily basis Pros Familiarity to the software since we have been using it for decades. I like that I can access my email and other documents on the cloud. We are able to create share folders for our internal employees and also create share folders for external users. Cons The sharing of folders outside of the company can be challenging to get setup. Once you know exactly where to change the setting in the admin center its OK. However you need to make these corrections when you create a new team folder.
