So far in the 2 years that i've used this app i havent forgotten a single task as it will keep reminding you until you clear it. Pros The best part about this software is that it pairs with windows since its created by microsoft and when the computer is locked, you can still see your reminders on the lockscreen itself. Highly recommended. Never forget anything again with this app. Cons The thing I liked least about this app is that it links with your email client on the PC and I have so many random flagged email reminders which are false positives and shouldn't have been flagged to begin with. But those are easily clearable. Reason for choosing Microsoft To Do It integrates with windows very well, the fact that I get physical reminders in my notification center & on the lockscreen help out quite a bit. As well as being a place to organize upcoming tasks, and assigning them dates, it can be used for sharing with other people, thereby letting team-members keep each other apprised of progress on a project. At home, I can use the same function to share shopping lists with family members, ensuring that the shopper knows most recent needs, and a second shopper does not duplicate purchases. I find this is also a useful place to keep checklists: I have one list for the items to gather to take to a display event, another for the questions I use at every art-class portfolio panel in which I participate, and yet another to keep track of the steps I need to follow when sharing finished work that needs to be posted to several individuals, places and websites. I love that I can add an URL to a task, and when I click on it, the site opens for me in a new tab, I can do what I need, then close it and continue down my list. So Simple! I have a Wunderlist of books and authors I want to remember when I am at the library. I use Wunderlist on my laptop, and i have the app on my iPhone. They sync well, and I can access any of the lists whenever I want, wherever I am. Pros I like the versatility. And mark it as started so you have a visible indicator of what is in progress and what is not. You can also add a voice message to your task. Before I started using Microsoft To-Do, things were slipping through the gaps or a deadline would approach and I wouldn't have time to find a workable solution. Cons If the initial deadline is set to a future date while adding a task with recurring deadlines, the deadline will change to "Today." As a result, I have effectively set the deadline twice. The software sends me email notifications that remind me that recurring tasks are due so I don't miss a deadline. I even use it to create supply lists for our office. Before I go shopping, I can place the supply items in particular order so that I am not walking in circles from department to department so I can quickly get in and out of the store. Wunderlist has allowed me to be a more efficient Office Manager. Pros I like how straightforward the software is. It is very functional and doesn't make the simply process of creating a task list or supply list a chore to create. Cons I really don't have any complaints about Wunderlist. The only small problem I have is that recurring tasks disappear temporarily on the iPhone app when I check off that it has been completed. You can find checked-off items in a separate list and quickly undo any mistakes. - Excellent for personal use (to-do's, wishlists, notes, etc.) - Excellent for teams (you can add comments and description to tasks, add subtasks, syncing works very well, prioritizing, notifications when someone adds anything, etc.) Cons \- Maybe an extra viewing possibility with thumbnails would be helpful for some use-cases. For example, we also use Wunderlist for development tasks. But maybe that would be more of a thing for other, more scrum-dedicated apps. - Sometimes the order of your items get a bit screwed up during syncing, which can be quite frustrating for priority-basef lists. I share almost 12 lists with my bf who I live with in order to keep track of groceries, items to return, places we want to try and eat, activities for date night etc. I also keep lists for myself for work and home errands. I can keep lists for ideas for presents with people etc. I LOVE LOVE this application. It has simplified my life and kept us organized without even trying, also I'm a total sucker for the little noise notification when you check off a item on a list - it's like an audible pat on the back! It has desktop and phone apps, both free. that instantly sync. You can set different due dates and reminders, and organize your to-dos into different categories, or just drop them into the Today tab. You can also choose a cute background in the app - for example, I have a cute puppy sleeping under my to dos. Wunderlist can also sync with your calendar, so you can see all of your tasks as you look at your plan for the day. Cons The repeating tasks stack up...when you do the task for the week, for example, it automatically pops up reminding you to do it again the following week. It is easy to access through your Microsoft login, and it is a simple and user-friendly platform. You can add due dates, reminders, and associated files to your tasks, and they can be easily viewed on your list. When making a task, you can also organize them based on color, and create your own code (for example, a red task can mean that it is more urgent and needs to be completed first). Cons I like that Microsoft To Do is connected to your other Microsoft applications, and it can suggest tasks based off of what you receive in your email. However, the suggestions are often times incorrect and can be a little annoying. When I was married we synced a few lists and it made grocery shopping or "to-do" lists around the house a BREEZE! Ability to add photos and comments to each task/list is great as well, you can get creative with it. We would even create shopping lists of potential gift ideas for the children with photos of the item in the store to remember what was what and the price. My second favorite feature is the ability to log-in on the computer.
