It provides me with a great option to communicate important information with my team, it also has a lot of fun interactive elements like emojis and gifs that allow for more personalized fun. Pros I love that it helps create a sense of community at work. It’s easy to create, design, and navigate Viva Engage sites. Cons For the most part my overall experience with Viva Engage is positive. The only minor feedback I have is the post sorting sometimes, it’ll default to new posts and when I switch the filter to all the posts will sometimes be out of order. Under utilization actually proves quite a challenge. I feel like this is the kind of software you could use every day or never use at all, and it really becomes incumbent upon the corporate culture to adopt it as a tool. With the current generational gaps at my company, it can be a challenge to engage either the less tech-savvy or the more jaded youth whom already live on several platforms outside of work. Pros Yammer is a fantastic way for employees from disparate roles to interact and share common interests. Often, these interests can benefit the business just as much as the employees. My favorite Yammer group is the 'Free Courseware' group started by someone who thought it would be great to compile a list of services that range from Coursera to MIT Open Coursework to Alison to W3 Schools. Cons As a social media-esque software, it relies on users heavily interacting. This can at time be distracting without any real guidance or weigh-in from management. And the similar colours of the program make it hard to differentiate what feed/channel you are on. It's not my choice of software for internal company communications. Pros I enjoy the ability to create different channels to segregate topics. Cons The feed is very overwhelming, and it's easy to miss posts. I also find some the apps doesn't register that you'd read something so it shows it to you twice. I also don't like that there is an ability to alert the entire team with your posts- it gets over utilised and clogs up your msg box. Instead I feel they should stay within the channels just perhaps highlight thoa channels red and urgent rather than sending a msg to the inbox. My staff are joining up now and my network is growing slowly. The adaptability of it is quite nice overall it is enjoyable to use. Pros The fact we can make our own little secure tight knit community is amazing. We deal with some secure information so the info and document sharing within our secure private network is seriously outstanding.So many things you can do to interact and engage. Cons Don't quite like the community's feature. Seems lacking in my opinion, but I will explore it more as I evolve with this product. It allows people to get recognition and to share ideas. Furthermore, as a user you can have your own page where you can put your thoughts and ideas, allowing people to comment and discuss. The best part of it, is that you don't have adverts like you would have on social media pages, and hence you are able to keep everything very professional. It's just so easy to use. Pros Viva Engage is totally compatible with Microsoft Outlook and MS Teams and can be pinned as an app in the side bar, which means that a user can easily swap between those apps to make a post and return to their normal work. Cons When making a post where an image is included, it would be great if the user could adjust where the image will fit in the text, to give more purpose to the image. It works with different operation systems (I use it with Windows only). Cons 1\. Wiki pages stopped working a few times. I don't know why. 2. UI is pretty old. I think it should be updated. Otherwise, we'd all be so isolated and unable to work together to enhance the finished product of transcripts. That information share is so, so important to not only get the best work to the client, but also to learn more and advance individually in the field. It links me to fellow transcriptionists and gives the human contact that makes up a huge portion of actually being to tolerate long hours of work. So thumbs-up, Yammer. Pros I use Yammer to link to fellow employees of Transcribeme. So far, Yammer has been extremely easy to navigate and I have not seen any glitches during my two years working with it. Yammer uses columns to organize your different feeds which helps with clarity. In a quick sweep of my feed, I can see the app directory, any new activity in all my groups, suggested managment or key team members to follow on Yammer, etc. It allows me to get live updates fast and easy so that I always know what is happening with the company I freelance transcribe for. I like that Yammer allows each company to tailor it's virtual work atmosphere to it's own needs. When I became a freelance transcriptionist, I was really worried about the isolation that comes with the online work. Yammer, though, seems to have completely changed that for me and the rest of the Transcribeme team, I think. Easy information share and very socially oriented, Yammer is a great app for the work-at-home crowd. Cons All the positives said, I think Yammer could work on it's design. Maybe it needs some modern touches and perhaps more social features. An amazing app that brings work-at-home people together could always do with more social features ie. a live-chat feature, customizable themes, more inviting interface because it's really important to catch the attention of freelancers so that they are more apt to frequent the site. December 14, 2022 4.0 Our staff are able to solve complex IT issues more efficiently when using Yammer as the knowledge is to-hand and there's less time spent researching resolutions. Pros It's easy to make new knowledge-base posts and none of our staff have had issues searching for existing articles. When a new post is made our staff are automatically notified via e-mail, which also integrates nicely with Microsoft Outlook when clicking on links inside the e-mail to quickly reply. Cons My least favourite part of using Yammer is the lack of text formatting options compared with other platforms or desktop apps such as Microsoft Word for example. It's like our own personal Facebook! Pros I love how easy they make everything and how it makes us all feel more connected. One of my favorite features is the praise feature. It's nice to be able to give people praise when they have done something to help you out and congratulate the sales team when they make a sale. I also like the poll and question features. It makes it so easy to get feedback from across our company. We also have the birthday feature in ours. It is so nice to be able to tell people "Happy Birthday" makes them feel a little extra special. Cons I really do not have any cons to this software. Pros Yammer is like a social media tool for workers in my company to interact with each other. We tried it out in 2016 and we never looked back. Company update can be sent to all members just like using an email, while documents, images and videos can be shared within it. It is cheap, sign up is free and have good customer support. You can easily join a group or create a group depending on what you want. Yammer helped me find information and get help by reading articles that were written by experts on difficult jobs within the organization. I only have to search for it. Yammer made me more productive with timely useful conversations and interaction from my colleague across the company best hands. I could also easily see what is happening within the organization at all times because of the synchronized updates. I can use yammer even when am out of the office because of their Android app. Additionally, Yammer works very well with office 365 which is not a surprise since it is built by Microsoft. Cons Yammer is too strict on 3rd party adverts within their platform. It is not widely popular and people just tend to disregard it. The learning curve for yammer use to be very low but recent additions and innovations somehow made it a bit steep for newbies. yammer work more like a social media platform rather a corporate tool with the many innovations been added to it The interface is too rigid for my liking. Yammer helps organizations build a healthy learning environment where anybody can contribute. You can create knowledge share and interest groups where employees engage in discussion and hone their skills. The key is to use it appropriately. Instead of engaging with outside world, employee can connect within the organization. You can create and send birthday greetings easily and let everybody know that it’s some one’s birthday today. We can’t ignore the importance of connecting socially with staff at personal level. You will also get notification of all new activities and events at work. Sharing anything is really simple on Yammer. If you come across anything which would be of help to co-workers, you can simply share it with the multiple interest groups on Yammer. Also, if you need suggestion from co-workers on anything, you can initiate a discuss and your co-workers can share their ideas easily. You can make announcements, praise a co-worker and create a poll, etc. Cons It might appear to be a distraction for highly occupied employees. Pros We have Office365 at our company, next to Skype the other app that is extensively used is Yammer for collaboration. We can switch this seamlessly across our Laptop & phone apps. Yammer is social network within the company. Everyone is member as soon as they join and we have different groups where we are free to join. But default, based on our department we are tagged to parent groups and we can view the updates and share our feedback just like Facebook. We can create new groups based on the need and invite people or tag them to get their attention. The biggest advantage of this app is your voice is reached to thousands in minutes and you may get feedback from top skipping the hierarchies. So easy to connect and easy to use and make an effective use for networking across the colleagues Cons User Interface is not rich and looks and feels needs improvement. Pros When it comes to corporate communication, data security is a major concern. Yammer solved more than just our privacy concerns. There is no way for third parties to access our data. It provides us with a place to announce activities, discuss concerns, and share ideas. Cons There are no huge dislikes, but Yammer's editing capabilities are limited. We have use it for sharing news and memo of our department or organization. We can have a private group that only our department use, or the public forum wheres everyone on the organization can freely communicate with each other. Cons Yammer is getting obsolete, as nowadays, no one have use it anymore. There are not new update of feature for the software, so we have lost interest on it. We only use it for to check update from our Administration department, any not using it for anything else anymore.
