Cons What I liked least about Yammer is the cost per user aspect. When compared to other free communication platforms that provide the same types of services their cost-per-user modelling just falls short to free or subscription based platforms. Reason for choosing Microsoft Viva Engage I chose Yammer as a product trial to experience if it was a product that I would use to benefit my company but found that for the pricing I can use free platforms that have the same functionality without the hassle of more overhead. " November 7, 2017 3.0 Pros Yammer is a communications instant messaging software-much like Facebook's Messenger, Google Chat, or any number of others. It works within the Office suite-which is fine-if you are collaborating with a group of people on a project and need to communicate with them quickly. It does the job quite well and it keeps the 'conversation threads' private and linked to your work. This is a good thing. You are not going to be distracted by games, adware, or cute kitten/puppy videos (we hope). It stays right there-working right along with you. Cons Problem with Yammer is-getting people to get on it and USE it. That is a major hassle. If they have been using Messenger, GChat, or something else, getting them to use Yammer will be akin to having root canals sans anaesthesia. Not a good experience. It can be done, but why would you? Although some progress was made in solving this problem with Yammer, we did not reach all of our goals through this platform alone. Pros Yammer is a very easy-to-use tool for employee internal communications. You can use #hashtags which help drive traffic to specific campaigns and organize conversations. Cons I think that one of the downsides of the tool was that there were no opportunities for integration with other platforms that were being used by the company. Pros Communication is far superior using Yammer over distributed email methods. Platform allows a Facebook like experience where co-workers can collaborate quickly with text, GIF's, file uploads, etc. Cons When you upload files to your page(group), Yammer doesn't offer a means of organizing those file with any structure. It's simply a long list of files that have been updated over time from the group. It manages to bring a fun and effective collaboration workflow to our company. Pros After deploying Yammer in our company, users from all branches can build communities, work groups, and share , documents ,topics in common, files, best practices, etc. The options to store and share digital information is the feature that our users appreciate the most. It has become a great tool for productivity and collaboration in a very fun way. Cons We had some issues with Graphical content not being showed properly on the Social Feed. Pros I like that you can create communities that suit your current project needs, and you can use it as a social network of sorts. For secure comms between business units or different organizations and secure file sharing, this tool makes it easier. Cons There is an obvious lack of features for the communities. In fact, I believe my experience using Yammer was nice and smooth and led me to a venting space out of the serious work hours. I have recommended this application to other organizations within my field. Pros Discovering Yammer; I was most excited about the fact that it allows hundreds if not thousands of employees across different geographical locations to all interact with one another on one platform. This platform is simple, easy, and fun and has become our "break" from work and our space to get to know colleagues on a personal level. It is very convenient and simple to work with even for the first time. Cons I think Yammer has served my needs so far, but if I have to think of a feature to improve, then I'd say the search feature. There is a Yammer app for your smartphone and you can receive pushes to email as well as the Yammer app so you always stay up-to-date. It allows to set up different networks and groups for different things through your organization. It is a great tool to communicate and stay organized. Cons There is nothing that I dislike about Yammer. It has so many wonderful benefits. I highly recommend this as a virtual office. It is low cost and for those that work remote, it is a great communication tool.
