Pros It provides features such as personal messaging, company notifications and group messaging. Mobile app is also available but I used the web version. This is integrated with microsoft 365 and and company used it mainly for knowledge sharing and as a social networking application. When I got free time, I use to scroll down yammer and spent some time there. Cons Sometimes I felt like it is too much since some days I get lots of notifications and spend more time checking them. Yammer works like a filter where we can focus on what is happening within the company. It is also a good database and tool to learn from other business units within a large corporation with various cultures, locations and departments. Cons There is limited (or I would say, almost no) information about the person. For example, if I want to know more about a person, for example their education, professional history, skills and credentials, most of the times I cannot find this information on that colleague's personal page. It is a wonderful tool that has allowed my company to have many very fruitful conversations across many countries and time zones on many topics. Pros The tool is great for Company Conversations especially when topics are being discussed remotely in expended periods of time. It allows large groups of people time to respond and think and then respond again. It has been an awesome tool for our company for serious and more social topics as well. Cons When using the tool on a larger scale with a large company it does need to be moderated and that can become difficult. I am unsure if there is a way to do this in an automated format. It's interesting overall but I think that currently LinkedIn has become that type of Social Media that Yammer was longing to be: where people publish both personal and professional accomplishments, pictures and share information. Pros It is nice to see employees getting along with each other in a professional but still casual tool. To receive weekly mails with the last news is also very interesting for having an overview of what's happening in the company - especially being a global one. Cons Yammer itself lacks a bit of appeal, its appearance is not nice and intuitive. December 12, 2019 5.0 Yammer allows me to communicate with every single layer of our company - from recruiters to the CEO, president, etc. It has allowed me to network with other people whom I may not have connected with otherwise. Pros Yammer is VERY easy to learn, very easy to use, organized and provides TONS of features!! I can message others, post in groups and even create my own groups. I didn't have to read any instructions in order to do any of this either! Very user friendly. Cons I honestly have not found anything I didn't like about Yammer. We have an international (dispersed) set of folks in my network, and we chose Yammer to be our communication hub. We have set up one work space for each work group - and another for our coordinating team. Not only do we use the group spaces, but the messaging between Yammer group members is extremely efficient and secure. We can write to individuals or create groups for ongoing within-Yammer communication. So even though we have to maintain security of information due to the part of the world we use this in, we have confidence in the security aspects. I also use the iOS Yammer app to access my account and messages. Cons I suppose it's meant to be a feature, but in a private message, if I type the name of someone who is also in our Yammer group into the body of a private message, Yammer automatically hyperlinks that person's name in the message as well as adds their name to the send-to list. While this is efficient, and while I can "undo" the link, it could I suppose cause some awkward situations if the sender never intended for that person to receive the message.
