It helps me reach daily goals, as well as long term projects. I am able to track progress on how tasks are going, and it has created accountability and visibility within my team. Overall, I can't imagine not using the platform. Pros Microsoft Planner has been an integral resource for planning, both as a single user and across my team. The platform allows me to set goals, monitor progress, and add contributors. The platform is easily accessible, and you can use it as an app on the computer, as well as through the browser, allowing access from multiple devices. The price compared to other platforms is reasonable. Cons Planner offers great basic features, but to have multiple active templates, you do have to purchase additional licenses. Even with the added cost, it is still reasonably priced compared to other platforms. Cons Each task has only 20 subtasks, therefore it would be helpful is that number increased. If tasks grouped themselves automatically based on the deadline, it would be great. Does everything that I need for my planning. Pros I like that I can organize all my tasks. I also like that I have the availability to assign tasks to individuals or teams if I like. It is not as robust as Project of course, but for day to day projects and task assignment it is perfect. Not everyone can use Project, but I haven't found anyone who didn't like Planner. Pros Very easy to use, and even my less-technical stakeholders are loving it! It takes some new habits, so I've needed to remind people about using it, but once they get the reminder they seem to know what to do. It really helps keep everyone on the same page with respect to tasks. Cons I like using it to assign tasks to my team members. Problem is, there isn't a way for me to easily see what has been assigned to a particular employee across all plans. I can see my own assignments from all plans, but I can't see the same thing for my direct report. This would be very helpful in managing workloads and having 1:1 discussions. Review Source Vineet S. Prior to this we struggled to keep track of remote employee productivity. Now we are able to track and manage the entire teams productivity and stay on deadlines. Cons There could be some tweaks to make it more user friendly. Making it easier to add members to plans, and when repeating tasks are completed not bringing up the next incident of that task until the due date would improve performance. It's very clean and organized and you are able to schedule Todo's for certain times, so you don't get overwhelmed by a big list. Probably I'll give it a chance again in the future, to see how Microsoft has improved the application lately, and check if I finally could switch from Trello to Planner. Pros With Microsoft Planner you can have all your tasks organized and tracked properly. It's easy to use, and it's fully integrated with Microsoft Teams and M365 environment. Cons From my point of view it's a little less complete than its competitors, like Trello. When I tried it, I missed some important features that I use a lot in Trello, although probably they will be added in the future (if they haven't already been added since I finished my tests long time ago). Planner to manage my day to day business life. i was forgetting alot of important events and appointments, consults, etc. until i got this planner. i wish they had a free version but i love microsoft so willing to pay would be nice though to see more features. im able to chat with my team, assign tasks to staff, and really improves work flow. were all on the same page. If you are within the 365 ecosystem, the integrations are excellent. Cons It is hard to get widespread adoption of the tool among co-workers. Although you can share and add people to your plans, I find it works best for managing something by yourself and sharing updates with others.
