My overall experience with Sage 100 was positive. The software offered all the functionality that was needed to the team.

Pros

What I liked best about Sage 100 was the value and the support offered. The software met all my reporting needs.

Cons

What I liked least about Sage 100 was that it did not offer an cloud based services for remote access for myself and the team.

As a Sage 100 Contractor user for 8.5 years I really enjoy this program. I have experience with many other programs and this one is not too hard and not too easy. Set up of Vendor/Clients is easy. The transaction windows are easy to use.Training someone knew is not to hard.

Pros

The ability to control your transaction number. This is huge because I can know instantly what type of transaction I am looking at based on the number sequence. Secondly, is the dynamic ability to make changes and corrections. Very easy. Customer Support is readily available and the new IA interface isn't too bad. Secondary level support usually answers quickly. LOVE the fact we can add our pdf's/Excel directly into the program and very easily transfer to Excel or Word for further working. The budget process through to progress billings is a good and efficient process for our Project Managers and Accounting Teams.

Cons

Limiting the users from accessing modules can be time consuming. Setting up templates per module also has to be done per user. The upgrade of the program is times consuming when we have to do them. It is based on the size of your files but I can take 2 hours just for the first step in the process because our file is large. The time and material billing section needs work and we don't utilize it because it isn't efficient.

Discrepancies between IC\_Item quantity and IM\_Item Cost quantity; work tickets crash TOO OFTEN causing incorrect GL entries; lacks visibility into previous Inventory Transactions (transfers, adjustments, issues); some posting reports are not retrievable if you do not print it right away; PV entries do not always post accurately, requiring us to continually manually reconcile by transaction (this is one of the reports that we cannot retrieve if it is not saved at the time of posting, causing lots of frustration). Years ago we added on Scanco Multibin because we needed this functionality and Sage did not have it. Now there are MANY flaws causing us hundreds hours of work to fix because of errors in expiration dates and quantities in Multibin vs Sage.

Pros

It's better than Quickbooks. It has importing functionality; Bills of Materials; ability for Production work orders.

Cons

Reporting lacks adequate options for exporting to Excel to review and analyze data. Upgrades require too much labor - requiring install on new server and data transfer. Sage did not work with third parties (Scanco) to make sure that their products still worked in the upgrade (Production Management).

Sage is a wonderful program for those who need to do perform accounting and project tracking. It is mostly easy to use, though it does need help with setup and reports.

Pros

How the Project Management part of the system integrates into the Accounting part of the system. It gives to the freedom of being as detailed as you need with tracking your projects. While simplifying your accounting.

Cons

The system can be rigid when it comes to making mistakes. Some small issues can blow up into big ones without much effort on the part of the user.

While our small company bought Sage 100 (and it was more complicated than what we actually needed at the time plus we struggled through training), it has proved to be a very dependable product even with the age of it.

Pros

The option I liked most is the depth of information that can be entered into Sage for customers and vendors that make it easy access for reporting. Customer and vendor memos and contacts and important details easily accessible and quick referencing.

Cons

The least favorable thing about Sage 100 is encountered with different user's abilities and lack of knowledge resulting in errors hampering complete accurate reporting.

Been positive, no reason to consider switching to a different software package. They've been responsive on payroll changes and updates and generally maintain a solid product.

Pros

Versatile and robust. Also has lots of partner developers that integrate with it. Don't use the cloud version, not ready for that. But they maintain a commitment to their desktop version. Security can be custom assigned by user/module/company.

Cons

We still do a lot of tracking via Excel. Sage has a database connector for Excel, but I've found it cumbersome so far. They do integrate with Crystal Reports for report generation, but I am more proficient with Excel.

Used it for 24 yrs, that speaks for itself! We love this software for our accounting and payroll. We trust it.

Pros

Solid Accounting Software and we can project our project’s performance. That is critical to meeting our needs.

Cons

Wish you scheduling module was more user friendly, we currently use Buildertrend and like the client interface and flexibility. Wish Sage had similar capabilities.

Overall, Sage 100 has been easy to use. I had to learn it without any formal training and have found it quite user friendly and easy to navigate.

Pros

I like the addition of some advanced reporting options that help with tracking job costs & productivity much more efficiently.

Cons

However, there were some reports in Sage 50 that are not available in Sage 100 and we miss those, as they were also beneficial and helpful in our business practices.

Overall I would say it is satisfactory. It is easy to use once you know how and does what it needs to. Sage is probably the go to in that sense and once you know how to use Sage you can use any of them.

Pros

Once you learn it, it is relatively easy to use. It's used by most accountants and integrates with most software.

Cons

The UI looks quite dated and they should have a true cloud based version so you can use it anywhere.

Overall experience is good. Trying to get others on board to using the program property. Setting up job costing would be a huge benefit.

Pros

The power the program has. Great for job costing, inventory management when used properly. I wish we used more of the program.

Cons

Accounting side can be difficult to use. However, I like that people cannot go into the system and change important things like invoices an GL entries just by clicking on them

I started using Simply Accounting over 20 years ago in my accounting courses. It has now evolved into Sage 50 and into Sage 100. This program still out does the accounting principles of other programs. Thank you Sage!

Pros

Sage 100 uses GAAP, generally accepted accounting principles, in every small business this is a must use tool. Sage has provided the program to the school system as educational partners. I know several past students who now use Sage in their daily lives because they learned the program in high school

Cons

Sometimes the program is difficult to install in a school setting in our lab environment. With that being said I fully understanding the licensing is a difficult thing to keep track digitally.

The accounting reports. AP and AR are easy to use.

Cons

Don't get involved with this company. They are horrible. $1,200 per year for customer support and they don't even have a phone number to call. You chat online with someone, they send you articles from Google and tell you to figure out the issues with THEIR software yourself

Overall Poor upgrade from Sage 50 Accounting. Little to no support from customer service (usually just told to look in the knowledge base). At one point we stated to pay for outside help. There are much better options out there.

Pros

We used the contractor version of Sage 100. It was a nice all in one solution with everything in one place. Invoicing was pretty simple for our accounting to use.

Cons

Mobile app didn't do anything, it was extremely basic. Taxes were not actually calculated on employees pay (it still calculated it but didn't actually track it, just stopped at one point but only for a few and it wasn't caught), estimating module could use a lot of work to update it.

Sage 100 has been an excellent choice as the business has been using it for over 15 years. Regular product releases keep the software up to date and contributed to its capabilities.

Pros

I love the extensive capabilities of the system for not only the financial functions, but also for the robust operational capabilities that are present. I especially like the production management and inventory planning capabilities

Cons

I would like to see the coming AI enhancements to come quicker to allow for more insights to be gained from the extensive data that is in the system.

Pros

Sage 100 software is intuitive, easy to use & customizable with extended solutions. I also appreciate that clients can purchase only the modules they need.

Cons

Sometimes difficult to get assistance from 3rd party vendors. It is uncomfortable when I am not able to assist my clients in a timely fashion.

too expensive now. More benefits have been added that we do not use or do not need yet have to pay for in the monthly cost. Consideration should be given to a tiered system, if you use the basic package, then payment for basic package etc, if you use the full range of facilities then I would expect to pay more.

Overall it has been a solid and cost effective software for my business. The function is dependable but takes some time to learn the different functions.

Pros

Sage 100 offers strong value for money for SMEs. The financial modules are reliable and can maintain small multi entity Groups for a good cost. Reporting is flexible enough for month end reporting requirements and the system is stable and consistent.

Cons

The main cons with Sage 100 relate to usability and customer support. The user interface feels dated which as a first time user meant that it took longer to learn than accounting software's I have used in the past. The customer support response times can also be inconsistent.

Great, but looking forward to learning Sage Intacct. I have used Sage 50, Sage 100 and we just signed on for Sage Intacct.

Pros

Financials reporting worked well. I liked that everything was permanent once posting versus Sage 50 where you can change transactions.

Cons

Bank Reconciliation platform was not as user friendly as newer platforms. A few specialty things to know to clear “stuck” transactions from cache.

Pros

Can do a lot. Personal c# developpement possible with Objets Metier.

Cons

Obsolete softaware in many features . For example , the length of fileds is very short (a serail number with only 31 charactersn a title with 69). A godd facelift would be welcome. There' s too many bug in mangement that are still not resolved. The interface is not modern and the document generator is from another era. There's not workflow either.

Pros

I like how you can purchase the modules you need vs everything being packaged. The automation work pretty good

Cons

The software is not super intuitive, but once you get going it's not bad. They learning videos really help if you get stuck

Pros

I like the interface and setup of Sage 100. It makes it helpful to control the maintenance and patching of the servers locally.

Pros

Excellent customer support ensures issues are resolved quickly. Comes with unlimited customization options which helps to meet specific business needs. Features like wide range of pre-built integrations and native connections other products makes it the ideal choice for sensitive data. Has a robust security and compliance dashboard.

Cons

Sage 100 can be expensive for smaller teams. Also the lack of a free trial version limits users who would opt to test the product first before purchasing it.
