My overall experience with Sage 100 was positive. The software offered all the functionality that was needed to the team.

Pros

What I liked best about Sage 100 was the value and the support offered. The software met all my reporting needs.

Cons

What I liked least about Sage 100 was that it did not offer an cloud based services for remote access for myself and the team.

As a Sage 100 Contractor user for 8.5 years I really enjoy this program. I have experience with many other programs and this one is not too hard and not too easy. Set up of Vendor/Clients is easy. The transaction windows are easy to use.Training someone knew is not to hard.

Pros

The ability to control your transaction number. This is huge because I can know instantly what type of transaction I am looking at based on the number sequence. Secondly, is the dynamic ability to make changes and corrections. Very easy. Customer Support is readily available and the new IA interface isn't too bad. Secondary level support usually answers quickly. LOVE the fact we can add our pdf's/Excel directly into the program and very easily transfer to Excel or Word for further working. The budget process through to progress billings is a good and efficient process for our Project Managers and Accounting Teams.

Cons

Limiting the users from accessing modules can be time consuming. Setting up templates per module also has to be done per user. The upgrade of the program is times consuming when we have to do them. It is based on the size of your files but I can take 2 hours just for the first step in the process because our file is large. The time and material billing section needs work and we don't utilize it because it isn't efficient.

Our small 9-person company must subcontract a part-time Sage expert to get Sage 100 to function with 25 years of company information. The convoluted nesting of functions may as well use a MS DOS command line.

Pros

It inherited the Master Trend database and has the familiar feel of MS DOS in Windows 3.2. It comes with a 400-page manual that is comprehensive but really user friendly or functional for beginners.

Cons

Archaic application with poor inter-unit integration, barely cobbled together and still needs a 13 person team for each unit to effectively run. This may as well be MS DOS

Sage is a wonderful program for those who need to do perform accounting and project tracking. It is mostly easy to use, though it does need help with setup and reports.

Pros

How the Project Management part of the system integrates into the Accounting part of the system. It gives to the freedom of being as detailed as you need with tracking your projects. While simplifying your accounting.

Cons

The system can be rigid when it comes to making mistakes. Some small issues can blow up into big ones without much effort on the part of the user.

Pros

Sage 100 offers an incredibly intuitive user experience, making it remarkably easy to navigate through various modules and daily tasks without a steep learning curve. I’ve found that running reports is a seamless process, allowing me to generate the exact data I need quickly and efficiently. On top of the software's performance, their customer service is consistently great, providing prompt and helpful support whenever questions arise. Invoicing is easy and check runs are smooth. It is easy to post payments, and it is in the cloud now which is great.

Cons

The only thing I do not like about Sage 100 is that their job cost module does not have a lot of characters for comments.

While our small company bought Sage 100 (and it was more complicated than what we actually needed at the time plus we struggled through training), it has proved to be a very dependable product even with the age of it.

Pros

The option I liked most is the depth of information that can be entered into Sage for customers and vendors that make it easy access for reporting. Customer and vendor memos and contacts and important details easily accessible and quick referencing.

Cons

The least favorable thing about Sage 100 is encountered with different user's abilities and lack of knowledge resulting in errors hampering complete accurate reporting.

Used it for 24 yrs, that speaks for itself! We love this software for our accounting and payroll. We trust it.

Pros

Solid Accounting Software and we can project our project’s performance. That is critical to meeting our needs.

Cons

Wish you scheduling module was more user friendly, we currently use Buildertrend and like the client interface and flexibility. Wish Sage had similar capabilities.

Been positive, no reason to consider switching to a different software package. They've been responsive on payroll changes and updates and generally maintain a solid product.

Pros

Versatile and robust. Also has lots of partner developers that integrate with it. Don't use the cloud version, not ready for that. But they maintain a commitment to their desktop version. Security can be custom assigned by user/module/company.

Cons

We still do a lot of tracking via Excel. Sage has a database connector for Excel, but I've found it cumbersome so far. They do integrate with Crystal Reports for report generation, but I am more proficient with Excel.

Overall, Sage 100 has been easy to use. I had to learn it without any formal training and have found it quite user friendly and easy to navigate.

Pros

I like the addition of some advanced reporting options that help with tracking job costs & productivity much more efficiently.

Cons

However, there were some reports in Sage 50 that are not available in Sage 100 and we miss those, as they were also beneficial and helpful in our business practices.

Overall I would say it is satisfactory. It is easy to use once you know how and does what it needs to. Sage is probably the go to in that sense and once you know how to use Sage you can use any of them.

Pros

Once you learn it, it is relatively easy to use. It's used by most accountants and integrates with most software.

Cons

The UI looks quite dated and they should have a true cloud based version so you can use it anywhere.

I started using Simply Accounting over 20 years ago in my accounting courses. It has now evolved into Sage 50 and into Sage 100. This program still out does the accounting principles of other programs. Thank you Sage!

Pros

Sage 100 uses GAAP, generally accepted accounting principles, in every small business this is a must use tool. Sage has provided the program to the school system as educational partners. I know several past students who now use Sage in their daily lives because they learned the program in high school

Cons

Sometimes the program is difficult to install in a school setting in our lab environment. With that being said I fully understanding the licensing is a difficult thing to keep track digitally.

We've been using Sage 100 for over 25 years. As our business has changed and grown, Sage 100 has meet all of the accounting challenges we have faced.

Pros

Strong audit trail of transactions. Large group of Master Developers that have add-ons to meet any challenges in accounting that may arise - example EDI processing.

Cons

Proprietary database. Not a real-time database for transactions - it is a batch processing system. SQL solutions not as robust as their proprietary database solution.

Managing campaign budgets and tracking ROI with Sage has been really wonderful. I use its financial clarity for my role as a junior digital marketing manager to keep a watch on campaigns so they stay on track. It doesn't guess at me; its real live updates eliminated inefficiencies so that we can move budgets around as needed. Campaigns have a direct effect on the company's bottom line; it is easy to see that financial management is really a lot less intimating.

Pros

Its real instant financial tracking and customizable reporting features make Sage 100 a distinct advantage amongst the rest. Continuous tracking means that campaign budgets, expenses, and financial performance are always relevant and allow for immediate implementation.

Cons

While the user interface of Sage 100 is not my favorite part about the software, it could certainly use a bit of modernizing and an intuitive interface. For example, the automation of financial monitoring could also be expanded to save more time repeating tasks.

Pros

What I really like about this sage is it comprehensive accounting features, and a strong financial reporting capabilities.

Cons

what I like least about this sage is it's quite expensive, customer support is dire (when you can actually get anyone) and it's quite difficult to use if you are not an expert in accountancy.

My overall experience with Sage 100 is towards the positive side. I like how it's simple to work with. I like how reporting is simple, but sometimes can get tedious. It is an easy to maintain software and Sage support is always a call away too.

Pros

I like how I get everything in one place under the Sage 100 umbrella. It has a strong inventory tracking and order processing. Other than these obvious features, I love it's reliability.

Cons

Sage 100 is a bit old fashioned in terms of looks and feeling when working on it. UI of Sage 100 could be much better than what it is now.

The first software that I learned accounting on was Sage, so whenever I am comparing different software, I mostly use it as the benchmark. It comes in handy when managing financial accounts, and its affordability adds to the plus of the tool.

Cons

I do not have any real complaints; all you need is a stable internet connection to enjoy its performance and all the benefits that it has to offer you.

Incredibly frustrating. Simple things are hard, things take forever to load, and I struggle to get basic information without needing 3 custom reports.

Pros

Very robust product if you take the time to customize it.

Cons

This is an accounting first software that is not user friendly. Example: you can find your commissions for salespeople under your accounts receivable module. Something else I have struggled with is the product is sold directly, but implemented with a third party integrator. Our third party integrator just informed me of a 200% price increase going into effect in the next two weeks followed by another 300% increase going into effect at the end of the year.

Pros

Can do a lot. Personal c# developpement possible with Objets Metier.

Cons

Obsolete softaware in many features . For example , the length of fileds is very short (a serail number with only 31 charactersn a title with 69). A godd facelift would be welcome. There' s too many bug in mangement that are still not resolved. The interface is not modern and the document generator is from another era. There's not workflow either.

Doesn’t exactly welcome you in. Bit stiff, but once you’re in, it handles serious numbers without blinking.

Pros

Plenty of features, maybe more than you need. Can feel like it was built for someone with a bigger setup.

Cons

Takes clicks to get around. Not super intuitive, but if you stick to what you use often, it stays manageable.

The customer support is exceptional, the webinars are always available and we don't need to run around if we need help, just an email or call away from assistance.

Pros

It's comprehensive features, user-friendly interface and reliability,

At the start of using it was a bit complicated, but once the training commenced, it went well, we expected it to be easy to understand from the start, but we managed.

### "Software is bad, service partner is worse."

outdated technology, lack of transparency, psuedo subscription without meaningful updates. Poor quality of the service partner network leaves much to be desired.

Pros

the name of the software. But don't be fooled by that.

Cons

On paper it has all the functionalities. In reality none of them works properly. You endup with countless customizations from a Sage partner and become very dependent on their partner. They are neither good nor cheap.
