It does exactly what it’s supposed to do for contract management, compliance, and large-scale invoicing. But as a daily user, the experience can be frustrating. It’s clunky, the learning curve is steep, and it completely lacks the agility of modern SaaS tools. Ultimately, it’s a necessary platform if you operate at scale and need an iron-clad system of record, but you have to accept that you're trading user experience for pure horsepower. Be prepared to invest in training your team on how to actually use it. Pros Honestly, when it comes to compliance, tracking, and end-of-year audits, Ariba is a lifesaver. Like anything else, with a little bit of practice, it becomes second nature. Pros My company uses SAP Ariba as the primary purchasing system for goods and services. I personally use the system for both processing spot buys as well as guided buying. I like guided buying the most about SAP Ariba because it allows me to purchase goods all at a predetermined rate using my company's corporate discount. Cons At first, the SAP Ariba system was somewhat difficult to navigate. It is such a large system that occasionally I would find myself lost and unsure how to proceed. With more use came more familiarity with the system however.
