Software Developer Computer Software Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Modernized supply chain solution" May 6, 2021 5.0 Pros Having worked before with SAP ERP exclusively, coming into Ariba is a fresh breath of air. The UI looks very nice compared to SAP GUI. Still, it integrates nicely with the ERP and keeps all the transactions in sync. It gives you the option of either doing direct connectivity to the ERP (which can be helpful for smaller companies) or integrating through middleware. Cons Customization of business processes can be difficult, since this is a Software as a Service. It mostly focuses on giving you a standardized experience out of the box. Review Source SR Scott R. COO Information Technology and Services Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Run, do not walk away from using Ariba" August 17, 2022 1.0 None Pros We never used this software and have been trying to get them to cancel our subscription for 3 years. Cons A vendor of ours asked us to sign up for free version of this software in order to bid on a project. We signed up for it, then the vendor cancelled the project and we attempted to close our Ariba account. We have tried for 3 years to get them to acknowledge that we have closed our account and to stop billing us and they have a very effective method for giving such requests the run-around. Their instructions and systems consistently error out. So now for the rest of our lives we'll likely be getting their bills. We either have to pay the ransom or deal with them every year when then re-invoice us. We know it's a racket and it's likely SAP doesn't even know it's going on. I konw it's not a lot of money but at this point it's the principle of the thing. Just do yourself a favor and don't start down the road with them; it's a roundabout you'll never be able to exit. I suppose it helps big corporations manage their stock levels in a systematic way. Cons When small businesses are forced to use it, it adds a significant cost of operation without any gains. Administrative Assisstant Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Expensive Crap " April 8, 2022 1.0 Really hate this service, especially since it was pushed on to us, and now we are forced to pay money in order to get our money. Pros It is nicely set up, easy to use and understand, but the cons greatly outweigh the pros. Cons Very expensive, and there's no way around payments. The price is not specified until you purchase, major red flag there. The price is based on how much you use Ariba, which means they will take a lot of your money if you use it a lot. We have a big customer who conveniently switched to Ariba and will not take any invoices from us without going through Ariba. So now WE HAVE to pay for this service and it's absolutely annoying. Pros Nothing. Bloated functionality based on old coding. Cons Part of the new model of corporate accounting apparently. Charge the vendor for the privilege of sending an invoice. We tried it, and we did not apply to any contract. It wasnt possible, nothing, but absolutelyn nothing woks. All we can get is a screnn saying our account fills the criteria. Pros Absolutely nothing. It did not work, not one bit. Cons That it was impossible to do anything. We regularly apply on government contracts. For some, the informations are accessible only through Ariba. We cannot apply on those contracts Ariba is stopping us. Reason for choosing SAP Ariba Because it was forced on us by the government. Pros Super software for purchasing decisions and the management of suppliers. It is easy to handle tenders and purchasing decisions. Cons The solution is a cloud solution and it does not offer that much opportunity for individual processes and developments. Review Source JC James C. Pros Nothing, no intention of using this program for anything beyond being forced to by a customer. Cons Being forced to use this program by 1 customer for non product related supply that only occurs randomly throughout the year. I am forced to duplicate the work I produce on my own accounting system to enter into my customers system. In other words, I am doing their work for them for no financial gain.
