Pros Easy to deploy to multiple devices from single console. Policies and upgrades can all be configured and deployed from a single console. I have been using Symantec EndPoint for several years on hundreds of sites and no outbreaks or issues. It was that good I started to think what isn't it finding so scanned with other AV products and my systems were clean. Cons Support can be difficult at times. The firewall policy can be a little over whelming to non experienced users, but you could chose not to deploy that part. Review Source KL Karen L. Cons There really isn't anything I can complain about this program. It works great, and has never let us down. I think everyone who works on a network should install this software, for safe and secure work. In my experience it has worked well and only once has the application missed malware. Pros I like the feature that scans emails and files and protects them from alteration. I was never in situations which made me think this is important software. Ok in todays world you need to have some kind of Endpoint Protection, but i can't say i would ever choose Symantec over maybe Kaspersky or McAffee Pros Well it works. I habe been using it for ages on my old business PC ( Windows 7) for 5-6 years. Also on some virtual machines. It is non intrusive Endpoint protection software with not too much options Cons It had the worst update "additional" app which worked for about 20% of time. It is heavy on resources. Cons The software has multiple bugs that have developed in the past year. Since the acquisition by Broadcom, support has become inaccessible. August 13, 2019 3.0 Pros It is completely out of your way once it is installed on your machine. Once on, you are given few, if at all, notifications outside of a little icon on your machine's toolbar if using a mac, or on the application icon on windows. Running a system check can be done with the click of a button. Cons The software itself is very clunky. There is no protection "in the moment" (ie, no way to scan a file before downloading it). System checks are also painfully slow, despite being easy to initiate. Once completed, the analytics given are very vague, giving you guesswork if anything on your machine is compromised. Lastly, there is a very noticeable drop in battery life once the software is installed. Pros Symantec is a good overall program and provides adequate protection. The web browser plug-ins prevent pop-ups, providing an additional layer of protection that most programs don't.
