Their support website has answers to every question I've had. Cons \- It slows down my Outlook program on start-up. Outlook has noticed the big drop in performance and regularly asks me to disable it to improve performance. It seems counter-intuitive to disable a protection program to speed up Outlook, thereby opening my computer up to risks that could slow down/disable my system. Review Source AC Alexander C. It works well across platforms. Pros We purchased symantec when our school switched to a BYOD program and we needed a platform that protected users on all different branded devices. This is a great, comprehensive solution. Cons It is expensive. There are many options out there at a lower price point. We purchased this one because we knew we could trust it. The Symantec support team was very helpful in guiding me through the troubleshooting process so I could get the remote deployment operational. Cons The Outlook plug-in does slow down the start-up time by 3-4 seconds on average. Not a deal breaker, but Outlook does try to disable it on occasion. Review Source Kendra C. The program is very efficient in anti-malware, intrusion prevention and provides an extensive array of firewall features for server and desktop computers Cons With all of the features and options, I should have known the set up process would be tedious. We always felt secure with their software...probably the most secure we have every felt. If security is your top priority, we would highly recommend Symantec. Cons Our systems ran slower with Symantec that with other software. To make matters worse, we have a touchy software that accesses a database that seems to really act up when there is a drain on system resources. Cons When the software finds something, it tells you what it has found, but not how to fix the problem. This can be quite frustrating for someone who is not proficient at software administration.
