Pros It was a competent, well-written and secure piece of antivirus, antimalware, security software for PCs. I eventually changed to another product because I wanted some additional features such as built-in VPN and the like, but it worked very well while I used it. Upgrades are a bit tricky but their support is very good and helps us each time. The interface to the server manager is a little tricky until you get used to it but still if I am not in there every week or so I find I need to call for help, but they have great support. Pros It installs easily with a push from the server, when there is something I don't understand they have very helpful support. Cons It is a bit difficult to create installation packages for clients. There are a lot of options, which is good but it takes a lot of poking around to figure out where and what you need to be and do. Pros When a device was encrypted we were fairly confident that even if stolen data would not be accessed. Cons If any issues come up with encrypted machine, possibility of losing all data on hard drive was very high. The bypass screen for encryption login would often not work. Cons My server was protected with EndPoint Protection(EPP). And guess what? All my files haves been stolen. EPP is a total fake software that does not protect your files from external intrusions. All I wanted was to protect the servers. I was not comfortable that this was achieved. Pros I guess if I need to like something most I would say it was from Norton. This gave me some feeling of security but the support was lacking for me at least. Cons The support. I was not able to get the kind of support that I thought I needed to make this product work. Our system administrator configures the software and it seems to only run heavily once a week while it's doing a full system scan or updates the definitions. Their customer support is very helpful if we need assistance in de-registering a computer seat from our subscription. Cons It's not free. In all seriousness, Symantec is, on a per seat basis, one of the more expensive protection services available for purchase. But we feel it's worth the cost to keep our systems safe and secure. It was complete protection that wasn't annoying, Most programs I have used are not half as useful as this is. Pros This program does its job without tons of annoying advertising, bloatware or constant notifications. It was very easy to use and informative as to what it was doing. Updates were quick and easy. It only notified me when it was needed. It did its job in the background and wasn't annoying to have running. Cons The interface while easy, felt very un-inspired and basic. I set up the endpoint manager with alerting, and roll it out to my endpoints and it just works. I receive alerts whenever theres a threat, and theyre automatically sandboxed.
