Cons Nothing i can see bad on this antivirus, but if you are programmer and working on windows application it keep you deleted the exe file of your system, you need to "Turn on Silent Mode" for you to proceed. Pros Symantec Endpoint protection's main advantage is its popularity in the market for more than a decade. It is easy in deploying and helps out in hardening the security but lacks in various fields. Cons Symantec protection is a very old traditional player that lacks capabilities, GUI, support, and threat protection services. there is no storyline in the incident, attack mapping, behavior monitoring, complicated server up-gradation, etc.. and so on. I don't like when antivirus software talks to me or bugs me every five minutes with popups. Endpoint Security runs silently in the background, sends notifications when they're needed, and doesn't otherwise bother me. I might even forget it was there. The interface is very minimal, not overloading you with lots of big buttons to click on. Cons I don't have much in the way of complaints right now, but I will say that while I like the simple interface, I do find that sometimes I would like to have a little more control from the user side, or at least the option to view it while sitting at a users desk. Adequate design has been made to determine these rules as desired. Cons When reviewing incidents, you cannot see the contents of the exported document. SEPM configurations have been quiet handy for our security team. Also who will avoid getting a professional support from Symantec team. Pros Opening task manger you can see that there is single process running for Symantec, hence it is very low on resources consumption. It provides many functionalities in a single bundle. It protects most endpoint devices by offering simple features. It gives upgrade whenever we have a need which means that we are always protected. We don't have to do much configurations as the default serves better. But still if we need any configurations we can do them. Cons I don't like the prompts for password time and again. It not only detects viruses but malware as well and it also has some firewall features too. You can pick any type of scan quick, full or custom and can schedule a scan as per your requirements. It also sends different types of notification like when virus, malware or attack detected, scan complete, etc. There are different reports available that will be sent to you automatically. You just need to set some triggers. It also detects traffic come through your HTTP port and can block it if it's vulnerable. Symantec has its own library of codes that represent a different type of attack. It works on both desktop and Servers. I think if our corporation chose Symantec Endpoint Protection, it must be totally worth it. Pros Since I had my software switched to Windows 10, they also changed my previous antivirus program on Symantec Endpoint Protection and as for me it was a good choice: it has a virus and spyware protection, as well as proactive threat protection and network and host exploit mitigation. So during the year and a half, I didn't have any issues with my computer security and no annoying pop-ups as some other programs are "infamous" for. Cons Since the program installation is the duty of our IT specialist, I didn't have any trouble with it at all. I can't do any changes in it either, it's an option only for network administrators but didn't have any need in it so far. December 1, 2020 5.0 Pros We've used this for about 20 years now, and with every new computer and new version we've implemented, we've been pleased that the processing doesn't slow the computer down as much. It keeps our computer ssafe, is easy to pause when it happens to want to run at a very poor time. Cons I wish it was more obvious when the program was running like a new badge in the taskbar or something, because it's not always clear; it would be good to know so that you can pause it at a time where you can not sacrifice processing speed. You have to open the system first to check and see if it's another program causing delay.
