We use it for navigation, finding locations, planning routes, and sharing precise locations with other people. The combination of mapping, traffic information, Street View, reviews, and business listings makes it much more than a basic navigation application. Pros The combination of accurate directions, detailed maps, business information, and real-time traffic data makes Google Maps extremely useful. Cons Directions and business information are not always completely accurate, particularly in rural or remote areas. Pros I love Google Maps because it's a free app that allows me to find new things to do and new restaurants, as well as navigate my own city and other places that I go to. Cons Honestly, there's very little to dislike about Google Maps. It's so easy to use. Sometimes I wonder whether, when I'm looking at new restaurants to go to and I'm solely going off Google reviews, there's an element of groupthink. Thanks to the support of the people who use Google Maps, you'll find users leaving helpful reviews to help you determine good businesses from bad business. Google Maps even has a program to reward good reviewers by making them Local Guides which there's ten levels of. The more pictures and reviews you leave as a Local Guide, the more points you get towards leveling up. If you see inconsistencies in a map, you can always suggest an edit to help update the map. Google Maps isn't just a simple map. It's a constantly changing/updating Maps that serves as a major convenience to the user's day to day life. I speak as a Level 8 local guide myself. If you haven't tried Google Maps out, I suggest you go try it and see how much of a convenience it really is! Pros Google Maps thanks to the users who use it is constantly updating. If you're looking for a specific kind of place, Google Maps will tell you where to find it as well as step by step instructions how to get their. You can even suggest edits to the map if something isn't as it actually appears to be. When travelling to a new city on vacation, you can look up places to see and then chalk up routes to visit them based on proximity from each other. These routes can be saved or shared. Pros I have used Google Maps extensively and found the features easy to use to help me navigate to an area unknown to me before, particularly for destinations never visited before. The directions have always been spot-on and the mapping features allow me to zoom in as if I were on the road itself, getting a birds-eye view and street view of where I need to go. When it comes to value for money - it's a free-to-use app, so it costs you nothing to use, and I have never had to use the customer support facility as it is so easy to use.
