It provides real time estimated time of arrivals, different route options, and general mapping use, all for free on Google Maps. Cons Honestly not much. It is one of few perfect software's out there. Those are very Stone age. With Google maps you get that real time traffic update and reroute. When there's construction on the road Google maps will notify you of the best route. Pros I like how Google maps gives you real time traffic updates as well as information on items in the road, stopped cars as well as speed traps. This app is an absolutely lifesaver. Pros I love that Google Maps offers MULTIPLE routes between destinations with timeframes for each one. Also, the suggestions offered when it knows there is a traffic backup and lately I've noticed speed trap notifications, which is SUPER awesome! Cons I wish it had somewhere on the MAIN PAGE to choose from 'Favorites' or often used destinations like Home or Work. Im on the road a lot for my job so encounter more infuriating experiences such as the one i mentioned above but thankfully the overall experience of Google maps would suit most people Pros Easy access to information, good layout, intuitive options to assist with journey planning (arrive by time etc) Cons The fact that it actually doesnt put you in the correct lane at critical junctions, this isnt a one off either. The amount of times the visual will show a left arrow, with vocal announcements to match and at the last minute you realise "actually you were meant to go right". Resulting in extended journeys and a fair whack of stress. Pros Maps is an easy to use, free tool to get directions to your destination or to suggest places to visit. It's public transport suggestions give a useful estimate of how long train and bus journeys may take. Cons I am an avid hiker and would like to see better coverage of walking trails - however I understand that Google may prefer not to suggest more challenging trails to the average user. It's especially helpful when we have to travel for work or are in a location we are not familiar with. Pros The biggest thing I like about Google Maps is that I can customize it to my google account. I want to be able to easily save addresses or locations that I go to pretty often. Cons The biggest con about Google Maps at times is that it gives me a route but sometimes I'll do my own detour and the time will go down even more. Pros How easy it is to search for places that you are looking for and get directions to the location and being able to use it easily on Apple Carplay. Cons On rare occasions it does not update quickly enough to avoid traffic congestion. A few weeks ago there was also some flooding in my region and some roads were closed and it did not update quickly enough to show the quickest route without me doing my own research.
