Pros I love that Google Maps offers MULTIPLE routes between destinations with timeframes for each one. Also, the suggestions offered when it knows there is a traffic backup and lately I've noticed speed trap notifications, which is SUPER awesome! Cons I wish it had somewhere on the MAIN PAGE to choose from 'Favorites' or often used destinations like Home or Work. For example, if you're looking for a Pizza place, just type in Pizza and Google Maps will get you the location of all the Pizza places near you. It will tell you how far away, and it will even give you turn by turn instructions of how to get their on foot, bike, or car. Thanks to the support of the people who use Google Maps, you'll find users leaving helpful reviews to help you determine good businesses from bad business. Google Maps even has a program to reward good reviewers by making them Local Guides which there's ten levels of. The more pictures and reviews you leave as a Local Guide, the more points you get towards leveling up. If you see inconsistencies in a map, you can always suggest an edit to help update the map. Google Maps isn't just a simple map. It's a constantly changing/updating Maps that serves as a major convenience to the user's day to day life. I speak as a Level 8 local guide myself. If you haven't tried Google Maps out, I suggest you go try it and see how much of a convenience it really is! Pros Google Maps thanks to the users who use it is constantly updating. If you're looking for a specific kind of place, Google Maps will tell you where to find it as well as step by step instructions how to get their. You can even suggest edits to the map if something isn't as it actually appears to be. Im on the road a lot for my job so encounter more infuriating experiences such as the one i mentioned above but thankfully the overall experience of Google maps would suit most people Pros Easy access to information, good layout, intuitive options to assist with journey planning (arrive by time etc) Cons The fact that it actually doesnt put you in the correct lane at critical junctions, this isnt a one off either. The amount of times the visual will show a left arrow, with vocal announcements to match and at the last minute you realise "actually you were meant to go right". Resulting in extended journeys and a fair whack of stress. I use it all the time to check where clients and staff are, figure out how long it’ll take for caregivers to get to a client’s place, and just get a better sense of the areas we’re working in. Sure, sometimes the info isn’t 100% accurate, and you do need a good internet connection, but for the most part, it’s reliable and really convenient. Pros How easy it is to search for places that you are looking for and get directions to the location and being able to use it easily on Apple Carplay. Cons On rare occasions it does not update quickly enough to avoid traffic congestion. A few weeks ago there was also some flooding in my region and some roads were closed and it did not update quickly enough to show the quickest route without me doing my own research.
