January 23, 2026 5.0 My overall experience with Google Maps is a positive one, making planning journeys and get around new places easy, simple, and convenient. I use it almost daily! I use it for area mapping, as it is also great for searching for restaurants, things to do, places of interest, etc., which makes it valuable for exploring new places with everything in one app. With Google Maps being so easy to use I have not had the need to use their customer support! Pros Google Maps creates mapping routes quickly, with the ability to include multiple stops along your route, providing one seamless set of directions. It is able to update the route you take if you change direction or miss a turning. I use Google Maps for both driving and walking, and locally or aboard. I use the free service which clearly offers great value for money. Cons There is not much I do not like about Google Maps, it is possible some other mapping services give more real time information about traffic jams and slow moving areas, but I have not done any in depth comparison. The app works fine on my mobile, and also other mobiles within my family, making it versatile and easy to use, my children also use it with no problems. Review Source SK Sam K. I have tried 2 other mapping tools. It is also useful as, so long as the app is open, it continues without wifi/ mobile data usage, which in a semi rural area is a must. Pros It is simple to use. The app and computer versions. It is free. It includes features such ass different map types as well as offering a sat nav system for when you are driving. We find it much easier to navigate than other mapping tools. Cons To be honest I couldn't be without it. Being a dedicated I phone user I have tried apple maps and google is just so much clearer. Everyone knows 'Google maps' We live in a semi rural location and often buy things on Facebook marketplace. It is finding these houses where we use it the most. Review Source AV Amélie V. Cons Sometimes the traffic predictions or suggested routes aren’t fully accurate, or seem kind of random, which can be frustrating when planning for our fleet or when my driver has unexpected re-routes. It’s usually minor, but it means I double-check routes to make sure we stay on schedule. IT def helps me get to where I am going. And I like that it has options for walking, car, bus, train or ride shares. Pros I like the voice navigation and the ability to use it with CarPlay. Also, that I can add additional stops along the way. Cons Sometimes when adding the additional stop it will replace the original stop and navigate to the additional stop first. Would be better if I could easily switch this on car play for the right driving order with stops. Also when the wifi goes out in dead zones I am utterly lost. June 13, 2025 5.0 Overall, it's difficult to imagine life without Google Maps if you're driving, or travelling to a new destination. Great experience so far. Pros Google Maps makes it super easy to navigate, whether you are driving or walking. It also makes discovery of nearby things like places to visit or eat super easy. When travelling to a new city on vacation, you can look up places to see and then chalk up routes to visit them based on proximity from each other. These routes can be saved or shared. And finally, you can check for public transport availability to your destination. Cons Sometimes Maps stops working in weak signal areas, or congested localities. Also, it does not seem to be able to differentiate between one side of the road and thecl other, very well. Review Source BB Beau B. Im on the road a lot for my job so encounter more infuriating experiences such as the one i mentioned above but thankfully the overall experience of Google maps would suit most people Pros Easy access to information, good layout, intuitive options to assist with journey planning (arrive by time etc) Cons The fact that it actually doesnt put you in the correct lane at critical junctions, this isnt a one off either. The amount of times the visual will show a left arrow, with vocal announcements to match and at the last minute you realise "actually you were meant to go right". Resulting in extended journeys and a fair whack of stress. Another con is when google asks if etc is still there as it obscures part of the screen for a pointlessly long amount of time, very distracting. Review Source Hannah K. January 11, 2026 5.0 Pros I use Google Maps CONSTANTLY for market research and data sourcing purposes. It is quite essential to my job, but also a personal favourite maps platform! Cons I dislike that the businesses functions on the map does not auto-update as the map location changes. I will say that it is generally reliable. In my day to day life, I love the accuracy of accidents, police officers, construction, obstructions, etc on the road. Pros I like being able to search for a specific business/company on the map and it shows me all of their information, besides just directions for how to get there. The applications are very easy to use. Cons I find it harder to view on certain types of devices (CarPlay, etc). But overall, I do think that Google Maps is a fantastic product. Use it every time I need to go somewhere that im not sure about. Especially large family trips. Pros Excellent, always works very quickly, shows speed cameras, traffic build up and adjusts in real time to diversions. Cons Cant fault it at all. This is my go-to navigation tools for my personal use to even professional use. Even for a site visit, or visiting to a new location, I use Google Maps. Constant ads annoy but the pros easily outweigh cons. Pros Most liked: its ease of use. I started my online navigation journey with Google Maps. So, I find this extremely useful and easy to use. Real time traffic update like "Police reported ahead" is what I liked the most. From day to day use to even sharing a location, real-time reports I use google Maps. Pros I have used Google Maps extensively and found the features easy to use to help me navigate to an area unknown to me before, particularly for destinations never visited before. The directions have always been spot-on and the mapping features allow me to zoom in as if I were on the road itself, getting a birds-eye view and street view of where I need to go. When it comes to value for money - it's a free-to-use app, so it costs you nothing to use, and I have never had to use the customer support facility as it is so easy to use. A lot of advances in the technology has occurred in that time, which has kept making Google Maps that much better. Pros What I like most about Google Maps is that personally I find it to offer the fastest routes of travel compared to Google Maps competitors. Time and time again when I use Google Maps I find that I can trust it to find the fastest route and have an ETA that is always spot on. Cons Although it is getting better, I think competitors of Google Maps allow more user instructiveness in how individuals can input road conditions and such. " March 10, 2026 5.0 AMazing experience- i have 2 map applications and I only ever open Google maps as I prefer the layout and it's always reliable with journey times. Pros This is the default app i use everyday in my iphone. It has the most up to date maps and accurate times of journeys, showing alternative routes and routes with less and more traffic. It is free on my phone. I have used it successfully in multiple locations in Ireland, remote areas here and abroad. Cons I am not able to use it when I don't have internet. It's especially helpful when we have to travel for work or are in a location we are not familiar with. Pros The biggest thing I like about Google Maps is that I can customize it to my google account. I want to be able to easily save addresses or locations that I go to pretty often. Cons The biggest con about Google Maps at times is that it gives me a route but sometimes I'll do my own detour and the time will go down even more. It's public transport suggestions give a useful estimate of how long train and bus journeys may take. Cons I am an avid hiker and would like to see better coverage of walking trails - however I understand that Google may prefer not to suggest more challenging trails to the average user. Cons Only (minor) complaint is sometimes it will go into walk mode immediately instead of drive mode if it thinks you're close enough when inputting destination. it is purely preference not fault of the application.
