Editing MSIs with full customisation and advanced tools mean smooth process in getting final product ready. Scanning to create an MSI is by far the easier feature. Cons Difficult to figure out what feature are available as part of your subscription. Several times I have worked on an msi only to find out on saving or testing that I needed a higher subscription/licence. Then I have to restart because I've no idea what I've used that is outside my licensing. It's nemesis InstallShield is overpriced, antiquated, and hard to use. Discovering Advanced Installer was a revelation. Pros I love Advanced Installer because it has a simple and clean user interface, and the user interface is easy to use. The support I got from the team prior to an Enterprise Edition license was top-notch. We had a non-trivial installer requirement, and they worked hard to get us where we needed to be. It made creating installer for our software much easier than I expected. At first I was confused with some options, but after using it for few days, things got clear. The interface is friendly and most things just click-and-done. Had few small issues with licensing and updates but support was helpful. It save me lots of time and I would definetly recommend it to others who need to build setups fast. Pros I like that it's very easy to use even if you're not expert in installer stuff. The GUI is clean and not confusing like other tools I tried before. Also, I really like that you can make MSI and EXE both without writting code manually. It save me lot of time for our app releases. I know you told me to buy an EV code. What I don't know and your customer support has never told me, is will getting an EV code illegitimate the windows defender smart screen for the third part web hosting. I'm assuming it would if I hosted myself. Not possible at this time. So I haven't invested in any EV codes. Don't want to be stuck with something that does not work. Question, how does Advanced Installer avoid the smart screen download error problem. how can I incorporate what you do in my AI MSI's. Your installations and your update installs are your own MSI's. Cons The user interface customization of Advanced Installer is probably its weakest point. It does have some limited customization, but maintaining branding properly can be a challenge at first.
