The transition was smoother than we expected but took some time/energy due to the catering software we used in the past. I am sure there is alot more we could use Total Party Planner for within our company, but it will just take more time to explore. Pros More reliable than our last catering software company Cons Does not fully integrate with the some of our systems the way we would like it (outlook, social tables, one hub). To say the least it was confusing and hard to keep up with. Party Planner streamlined this process and saved me hours of office time plus it has given us a more professional look when sending proposals and invoices to clients. I am also able to copy reoccurring events and make changes easily for my clients. I absolutely love it! Pros It streamlines all documents needed for my staff to fulfill their individual jobs. Improves communication between the client team and kitchen/production team Helps keep our events and inventory organized Pros I like that I can quickly whip up a professional proposal and send it right within the system, this function alone saves me hours and is worth the price. It is so easy to make changes to a proposal. We are starting to use some of the other features including the costing and pack lists and it's all just making our business more efficient and productive. I wish I would have found this program sooner. I would strongly recommend to any caterer. Cons I would like the ability to have a couple of screens open within the same window at the same time. It is such a complete program that it makes it easy to keep track of our business. I highly suggest the purchase of the online program. Office Manager Used the software for: ### "2 Unique Caterers & Event Planners Love TPP" December 9, 2014 5.0 A day doesn't go by in our office when one person in our office doesn't say out loud, "I love TPP!" We switched over to TPP on April 7th 2014. At least that's the day we started recording everything in TPP for accounting purposes. We are beyond grateful and would recommend TPP to any catering company. Brandy, our sales manager from TPP was a delight. She assisted us with our transition making it as painless as it could have been. We have been catering for 25 years. We used to take orders and process papers by hand back in the old days. Then we thought we were so cool when we got computers and started taking orders in Peachtree. It was horrible. The more busy we became the less user friendly our old school Peachtree was to us. With TPP, our sales team can turn around proposals nearly ten times faster then they could with our old system. Invoices are more accurate. Customer, financial and event reports are phenomenal. I can even pull every party we've done for exactly 205 people that ate mac and cheese if I wanted to! Training new sales managers and office staff at 2 Unique used to be such a drag. I mean super drag. Trying to teach the utter chaos of our system was painful. Since April we've welcomed another 2 members to our team and the difference is obvious. Owner Used the software for: ### "We Love Total Party Planner" March 3, 2015 5.0 We have been using Total Party Planner since 2005. We originally started with the desktop version and were one of the first companies to transition to their web based platform in 2007. Total Party Planner is very easy to use which saves time for our team members and also is huge in training new hires on how to use the system. Total Party Planner streamlines the whole process of how an event moves through our company and ensures consistency when multiple users are working on the system. Our menu items are all catalogued and production reports can be generated directly from TPP. We can manage and track our rentals through the system and know when we need to order additional equipment. We are also able to generate a multitude of sales reports that allow us to track upcoming sales, close rates and sales history for our event coordinators. We also use TPP to store historical data about client preferences and specific details about past events. The best part about TPP is their service. Their willingness to listen to our suggestions and the speed at which they make changes and adjustments to the system is awesome. We look at them as partners that are key to our success and we appreciate that they understand how much we rely on their platform. Their service is fantastic and makes us truly feel valued. There are templates so you don't have to be an excel/word expert. I also find the calendar very useful for planning events. Cons The only negative thing I have to say is I believe the pricing is a little steep. We started with TPP in January of 2016 and have had nothing but great success. TPP has so many tools for us to use and we continue to learn every day. From the Sales Staff and Production Staff to the Culinary Team; everyone has really enjoyed learning TPP and what it has done for our company. TPP even allows me to utilize more than one division within the entire program; we have a total of three companies within TPP. I take care of all the event coordination and this keeps me organized. I love being able to quickly go in and change things as needed, and its very easy to use and navigate . The customer service is great as well! Anytime I have had questions, the staff are very quick to respond and guide me through the process. Owner / President Used the software for: ### "A Fantastic product that saved my company" April 16, 2015 5.0 We started using Total Party Planner in 2007, we are not a large catering company but we have been in business 51 years this years. At that time I knew I needed catering software to help me with propsals, food cost, staff cost, accounting (how many invoices have YOU forgot about because at the end of the long day you just want to go home...and then forget to send ) I used to send proposals out from Excel on letterhead, LOL, wow I look back and think it was all rudimentary. Now we have professional proposals that look terrific and I know my cost on food, supplies and staff are correct...and I'm making money! Yes TPP is the reason we are in business still. Once I had built all my recipes and menus in, I saw a bit of a scary site, costs that were off the charts. As with any software you get what you put in and it does take time to input into recipes and menus so you get the accurate food costing you are looking for but I never send out an event proposal without checking my costs first. It's easy to make new menu items, build recipes from the inventory, staffing is a snap, put them into the event, add the from time to end time and you know what your costs are. LOVE IT!! April 20, 2018 5.0 Pros Sending mass emails was super easy. Having everyone in the convo to find out the best needs and wants for any party. I loved it when added guest to the event the day before and I was able to add servers last minute to make sure complete coverage. Well done! Cons I goofed and sent out emails to the wrong clients. There are so many features within Total Party Planner and it is the ideal, cost effective system to help people within the Catering industry to accomplish the day to day tasks necessary to run and present their business. We have found the support from Total Party Planner to be excellent. They are always willing to give advise and suggestions on the best way to do things. There is also a great help and reference centre with Videos that provides help for each of the different sections within Total Party Planner. Their commitment to making the software the best it can be to help their clients stay successful. The customer service is second to none. They listen to requests and often those requests end up in development to be seen in future updates. The technology of TPP allows it to manage every part of your catering/event business, but it is tremendously useful event when not using all the components of the system. Having used the software for over 8 years, we have just started building our recipes into TPP. Data entry can be time consuming, but it is time well spent and the returns will far outweigh the effort to set up properly. Highly recommend to catering operations of all sizes. It's very convenient and the functions are very cool. Once trained, everything is really easy to use. Customer support has been wonderful!!! The only negative is that sometimes it glitches or takes a while to load. Pros If I don't know how to do something, then I can call and the customer service representatives will help me out! Since it is web based it can be access anywhere by anyone who needs it. The constant support is a breath of fresh air. Cons It is a steep learning curve but once the data is within the system it will become like clockwork and navigation will be an ease.
