Player Dev. Coach Sports Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Amazing Sports App!!" September 16, 2021 5.0 The overall experience with Skillshark it is simply one of the best sporting apps I've used. It's completely helped with my basketball academy. Pros The most important thing I like is the fact that I can evaluate my player properly and effectively. This brings a ease of mind to me as a coach and parents. The flow of the software is very simple with a clean look and feel. It has everything you need to operate your sporting event. This was extremely helpful for me. I am a busy coach and don't want the hassle of trying to figure out how to navigate though a specific sport software. You can tell it was designed with care from a sports minded individual. My favorite feature is the ability to log video. this comes extremely handy for parents. I'm looking forward to trying the live evaluations! Cons I don't think this software has any cons but it would be cool to have a part where video can be edited to get exact breakdowns of an athlete and their progress. Reason for choosing SkillShark I chose SkillShark over the competitors because of the folks who put it together. They know their stuff when it comes to the needs of organizations, athletes and parents. They are there to answer any and all questions and I like knowing that they put in real time and research to create a beautiful product that has helped my business tremendously and so many others. Head of American Football Sports Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Evaluation leader boards will inspire your players" September 14, 2021 5.0 Being able to show your players live leaderboards of every metric you collect from them inspires each of them to work harder and ignites their competitive side to push themselves further than they have previously. Pros Their app for adding the data makes data collection so easy and so fast. No more struggling with excel to create graphs etc its all done for you Cons Not found one yet, if I was having to be over-critical maybe more admin features to be accessible from within their app rather than only being able to use the app for data entry. Coach Sports Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Skillshark is a great tool for evaluating players." August 2, 2021 5.0 My overall experience with Skillshark is positive. Pros I really like the reporting and the way each player ranks in the mix of all of the other players. It also helps that players can be ranked based on weighted reports for particular skills such as batting power or outfield skills. Another feature that I like and players/parents like is the report that can be emailed to the parent/player after the evaluation. Cons I really wish there was a way for players to register directly in Skillshark for tryouts so that player info was ready at start of tryouts. Review Source JC Jack C. International Recruiter (CJFL) Sports Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Use Skill Shark for Player Evaluations at a Combine" February 28, 2023 5.0 A great tool for evaluating a Scouting Combine. Pros The best features of the software are the great looking Individual Reports, Weighted Reports and Comparison Reports. The direct entry on the mobile App eliminates the need for pen and paper. The customer support was fantastic, Adam H walked me through the data entry and report generation. Cons Navigating through the system at first was pretty challenging, but customer support was always a click away and my proficiency improved quickly. The spider-graph will only allow 8 metrics per athlete, you could run a separate report if there were more than 8 categories. The Strengths-Weaknesses Comparison Report will only allow 3 athletes to compare, if you have more than 3 players at a specific position you need to run multiple reports. These limitations can be overcome, hopefully the developers increase the maximum fields per report. Review Source JD Jordan D. Pros It is easy to use and change. The software is very flexible and accounts for all of the challenges you could face in a day completing an evaluation procedure. Cons None right now. We had experienced challenges having to back out of evaluations in the past to fix bib number / colouring issues and improper template. But the software has since been fixed and works great now. Cons The program bogged down and at times was not easy to use. Pros The software is easy to use and provides coaches with visual reports that are easily covered/relayed with our players. The system allows us to track player progress over time. We preach process over outcome and this system allows us to show our players where they are improving and helps them get from where they are to where they want to be! Pros We liked the way we could have several evaluators and could consolidate the data into a spreadsheet. We also used the video feature as well. Cons It was a lot for me to set up. I'm hoping that I can recruit others to be a part of this process. Reason for choosing SkillShark Once we settled on exactly what we needed the alternative was a much higher price than Skillshark.
