" April 9, 2026 5.0 Overall, this has been the best document generation tool I have ever used. They are constantly improving their technology and are very interactive with their customers. Pros Conga Composer is an incredibly powerful document generation tool. While there is a slight learning curve, once it is configured...it is very easy to use! It has a broad range of integration capabilities. Between templates, document management, and document signing...there really isn't anything it can't do well for folks. Integrations to services like Salesforce make it very well rounded for things like contracts, agreements, or legal documents. From prefilled data to electronic signatures, it does it all! Cons It does come with a cost and is a little tricky to configure properly. Their support is superior and they do provide a great deal of attention though. I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. Pros It was OK, simple to use and provided basic functionality. It satisfied our requirement for combining multiple documents into a single pdf. Cons Multiple attempts to meet with client support, only for them to be late to a meeting which had to be at 5:30 am my time. Also, very onerous contractual terms and no understanding from Conga. Now, our proposals look great and come across much more professional to our customers and prospects. They're easy to customize within the provided templates, our sales team can follow-up based on when proposals get viewed, and our close date has decreased since we're no longer collecting scanned signature pages. We are able to close deals faster and get customers implemented quicker. Pros The flexibility in document creation is excellent, allowing us to generate files in any format we need. The file-sharing system is effective, enabling us to send large files that can’t be shared via email. Additionally, the collaboration feature makes it easy for our team to work on documents together in real-time. Cons The interface is not easy to use. Some of the tutorials help but my team found the learning curve difficult. It's a bit expensive for our small business use. I can see a large organization seeing the value for the price. Cases aren't responded to in a timely manner, and the solutions provided tend to be rather Lackluster, to a point where we generally find the solution ourselves before support does. Pros The most impactful features of conga document generation is the content management system where we can choose the template for campaign management and email management. Along with that other features like digital and electronic signature comes quite handy at times. Last but not the least the document storage facilities. The files are stored in the cloud and can be used from anywhere. We can sign a document online which is a unique feature to have. Pros The flexibility in creating a document is very good, as it allows us to generate documents in any format. The file sharing system is good and allows us to share big files which can't be shared via mail. There is a collaboration feature that helps in working on documents along with the team in real-time. Cons The interface is clunky, and the users feel a lot of difficulties while using this tool. The documentation is very confusing and the tutorials doesn't help much either. Mainly, Endowment Reports, Gift Receipts, Donor Profile Reports. All are working properly and we like to generate the documents automatically and manually. Pros Salesforce and Conga integration is great. We can easily access to CRM data and generate the documents via Conga solutions. Also, creating Conga Template is easy. We like to use the dynamic template depends on our conditions! Mostly, configurations in Conga is great! Cons I would like to add Conga Document Generation Buttons on reports. Pros One of the best features is the document generator. From a users' perspective it is more than comfortable to generate a a document with fields that were already filled in Salesforce, rather than to open up i.e. Word and fill out an existing form. On the admin side it is also well to administer. The software is overall well maintainable. Furthermore the component can be easy to set up on corresponding Salesforce objects via different buttons. Cons From a users' perspective the intuitive UI and the product itself are easy to use. However it can be sometimes a bit frustrating for an admin to create a new template using Conga Queries. For me personally it would help a lot if the query builder would be a bit quicker and if it could also display merge fields. These merge fields are (at least in our org) currently only avaiable in the composer itself via the Template Builder. Sometimes it can be also difficult to debug a template. It can happen that a template might throw a SOQL-exception but it isn't shown where the exeption was thrown. Review Source AS Alyssa S. August 30, 2022 4.0 Overall my experience is very mixed. I do not feel that we have enough support. I do not appreciate how with the acquisition by Apptus they switched to a very greedy model. I don't like how I cannot ask the SME's/Experts assigned to me for help with the unique conga tools we use, and that they push methods that spend a lot of money- "just buy an annual subscription and we'll build it for you!". No thanks. We are already paying a ton of money for this, why is it so complex to set up! Pros The end result is an instant crowd pleaser. Our users are VERY happy when we have a mature solution. Cons Setting up solutions- we have a number of different use cases and every solution is so different. I also hate deploying solutions (not really possible). Pros Automation using Setting parameters one time in a button links which operates for million of records. Automation in Batches. Automation without Button Clicks. Integrations with different apps. point and click tool. can support esignatures. can support multiple delivery options. supported in salesforce lightning and can operates from lightning pages. Cons cant support multiple delivery options in a single transaction in batches. Reason for choosing Conga Composer Conga Quote Generations and Conga Invoice Generations are products of Salesforce and they only supports objects of CPQ and Billing Package.they are already purchased by client but on project work we needs to implement pro forma Invoice on order object which is not a billing not CPQ object so it was not supported and we switched to Conga composer to fulfil needs.Also for batch automation and E-signatures compatibility with multiple e-sign tools we decided to purchase conga composer. November 17, 2017 5.0 We used Google Docs / Word Docs for proposals prior to implementing Octiv, which caused two problems: 1) They looked terrible. 2) It was hard to maintain a standard format for proposals team-wide while still giving individual AEs the ability to customize proposals. 3) We couldn't get any intelligence (when they viewed the proposal, what they looked at, etc.) 4) Lacked an electronic signature. Now, our proposals look great and really 'wow' prospects, they're easy to customize within pre-defined templates, our reps can follow-up based on when proposals get viewed, and our close rate has increased since we're no longer collecting scanned signature pages. Pros Sales process was low-pressure. The user interface is easy-to-use, and Octiv's training/onboarding set us up for success from day one. Great company with great people! Proposals are beautiful, and we get great analytics. Cons We weren't able to integrate a payment /processor gateway but that has more to do with our current stack than a gap in Octiv's capabilities. Pros Conga makes it easy to create templates for contracts, forms and any other kind of document that can be autopopulated by our CRM and customized with data that has already been entered. We can create contracts very easily that are all consistent with one another without waiting for a member of our office team to create documents for the sales reps. It empowers the sales team to be able to send out proposals and contracts on their own time rather than waiting for other members of the team. Cons Setup can take a while to get used to. Most of the features we require are there, they just look a little dated and aren't as user-friendly as they might be. Pros When we moved CRMs it was useful to be able to upload existing documents in Word format and then just update the new merge fields. The documentation on the website is good and relatively comprehensive. The admin side of the lightning app has some nice features. Cons It takes a long time to load the Conga Composer app/component in order to generate a document. The app itself looks 'retro'/still in the style of Salesforce Classic. Similar softwares have nicer, user-friendly, document creation features, this means our sales admin team are reluctant to create documents themselves and everything relies on more IT literate Salesforce admins to create the documents. Our consultant recommended it and it works for us, even if developing solutions can be a bit tricky. Their customer service has always been responsive and helpful. Pros Set it up once and then the hard work is done. Easy to update templates. Easy for users to both generate documents and use the solutions (in our case, sending the customized letter that was generated attached to a customized email.)
