It's almost like the company truly doesn't care about what they are doing, and I just don't get it. Pros It has good features that make online teaching and meetings more interesting and interactive. It seems like a great tool, and it can be -- if you want to train on it and use an interface that looks like it's from another era. Cons The user experience and basic panel for working with ManyCam is truly horrible. It looks like something that was designed in the 90s. It's almost an insult to the user -- they have the ability to make the interface easy and intuitive, but instead it looks like it's built for a studio musician or professional video editor. I work in ed tech and many in our field recommended ManyCam over OBS, but that is changing with their lack of updates in 2023. Video with Zoom lags and freezes since February 2023 on Zoom app for M1 Macs (all newer ones). Customer support was slow and unhelpful to resolve the problem nor will refund if the software stops working. After enjoying Manycam for years, I'll prob go to OBS. Pros Great capacity for custom screen-sharing. You can preset different screen options and easily switch while live, engaging your audience. Screen overlays were well designed also. Cameras are easy to connect. Cons Loss of functionality with Zoom - a deal-breaker. Mild complaints about ease of activating screen overlays - they work nicely but are small and a bit unintuitive to find on the dash.
