Pros

Seamless integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Power Automate, which makes enterprise process automation much faster. Low-code/no-code approach that enables quick prototyping and faster delivery of business solutions. Strong customization flexibility for creating approval apps, mobile data capture, operational dashboards, and workflow-driven applications. Excellent connectivity through standard and custom connectors, including REST APIs and SQL integrations. Responsive mobile experience, allowing users to work effectively from phones and tablets. Faster development cycles compared to traditional application development, especially for internal business process applications. Tight security and governance support through Microsoft’s ecosystem and Azure Active Directory integration. For ERP-focused implementations, it is especially useful for extending capabilities around warehouse operations, approvals, production tracking, inspections, and field data collection without heavily customizing the core ERP system.

Cons

Some common limitations include: Performance issues can appear when handling large datasets, especially if delegation limits are not designed carefully. Debugging and troubleshooting complex formulas in Canvas Apps can become difficult compared to traditional development environments. Licensing and premium connector costs can increase significantly for enterprise-scale deployments. Limited flexibility for highly customized UI/UX requirements compared to full-code frameworks. ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) and deployment management across environments can feel complicated for larger teams. Dependency on the Microsoft ecosystem means integrations outside the ecosystem sometimes require additional effort or custom connectors. Offline capability and mobile responsiveness may require extra customization for complex scenarios. Governance becomes challenging when many citizen developers create apps without standardized architecture practices. Some advanced requirements eventually hit platform limitations, requiring hybrid development with Azure services or custom APIs. For ERP-integrated enterprise solutions, maintaining scalability, performance optimization, and environment governance often requires experienced architects despite the platform being marketed as low-code.

Pros

What I liked most about Microsoft Power Apps is how fast it can replace manual Excel/email processes with real business apps. In practice, teams can build approval tools, field data capture apps, audit trackers, onboarding forms, or workflow dashboards without a full software development cycle. For example, a control tracker or portfolio follow-up tool can be built much faster than with traditional IT methods

Cons

What I liked least about Microsoft Power Apps is that “low-code” does not always mean “simple.” Once apps become complex, formulas, permissions, connectors, delegation limits, and performance tuning require real expertise. Licensing can also become expensive depending on premium connectors and user scale.

Microsoft Power Automate has become an essential part of my digital toolkit. It effectively acts as a 'silent assistant,' handling the repetitive data entry and notification tasks that used to eat up hours of my week. By automating the hand-offs between apps like Power Apps and my databases, I’ve been able to focus on high-level strategy rather than manual upkeep. If you are already operating within the Microsoft environment, the ROI on the time saved is immediate and substantial.

Pros

Seamless Integration: The deepest strength lies in its native connectivity within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Moving data between SharePoint, Excel, and Teams is flawless. Massive Connector Library: Beyond just Microsoft, the vast library of third-party connectors makes it easy to bridge the gap between different platforms without writing custom API code. Low-Bar to Entry, High Ceiling: It’s accessible enough for a "citizen developer" to build a basic notification flow, yet powerful enough for an advanced user to design complex logic with expressions and variables. AI Integration: The recent additions of AI Builder and Copilot features have significantly cut down the time it takes to troubleshoot expressions or build flows from scratch.

Cons

Licensing Complexity: Navigating the difference between standard and premium connectors can be a bit of a hurdle when planning larger organizational deployments. Error Messaging: While the "Flow Checker" is helpful, some of the deeper run-time error logs can be slightly cryptic for those without a technical background.

Overall I thought that the power app function was hard to use to make integrations. The training was poor and left a lot of gaps

Pros

There are multiple apps that have multiple functions. Loop is the most used app for me. It is a great tool for project management

Cons

I lost the app and there was no way to recover the data from it. This caused multiple projects to be lost

Power Apps was very easy to learn. My first project with Power Apps for a client was also my on the go learning project. The customer feedback of this application was outstanding as it was easy to use and was the least buggy application they had ever used.

Pros

It is a very easy to use platform. No coding experience or knowledge is required to create basic web applications and is seamlessly integrated with microsoft 365 and other power applications.

Cons

The applications built on Power Apps is only compatible for web interfaces. It would have been great if these application could also be deployed on desktop.

For many use cases, building in Power Apps can be cheaper than contracting a full software development team.

Pros

The apps you build work on web browsers, tablets, and mobile devices. Microsoft’s Copilot integration helps generate app logic or UI based on natural language, speeding up development.

Cons

Power Apps can struggle with large datasets: performance can degrade, especially with non-delegable data sources.

overall my team and I have a great experience with Microsoft Power Apps. Especially with the power automate and power bi. I was able to create many useful reports and tools

Pros

It's low code and very easy to use for creating apps, like power bi, power automate and great value for money without having to hire developers

Cons

It's on a subscription base model, so that's a bit annoying since you'll be paying Microsoft a monthly fee forever

Onboarding was hard but once i got familiar with the platform i enjoyed building on top of it. I currently use it for my daily activities.

Pros

great productivity and automation tool with very powerful capabilities. It does require some coding knowledge but it has a lot of shortcuts, depending on your usecase

Cons

Working with complex data inside Power Apps seems like a struggle. Although it tries to help you with all the actions/connectors it still has a steep learning curve. Some of what you would consider basic or mandatory integrations are missing

Overall it has been an experience. Some things I'm like "wow, this is sooooo coooool!". And with other actions, I'm scratching my head for days trying to figure out where the heck I need to go or what to do to get things to work. SO overall a mixed bag, but the end results are always pleasing.

Pros

Power Apps is great with the ability it gives novice users to create forms and applications for people to use. It's easy to place/arrange controls on forms, and connect them to database columns in the "dataverse".

Cons

Power Apps isn't as intuitive as other packages out there. For example, Nintex with their form creation tools. It was a struggle to learn what should have been a few simple steps, and eventually after lots of googling and youtube watching, had to get someone to actually walk through some steps.
