It’s made managing our nursery display screen so much easier — everything is simple to update, looks professional, and keeps parents well-informed. It’s reliable, straightforward, and fits perfectly into our busy day-to-day. For a free platform, it’s exceeded every expectation. Pros The simplicity. It’s so easy to update, schedule and manage content, even on the busiest days. It’s reliable, quick to use, and parents really engage with the information on the screen. And the biggest bonus — it’s completely free to use for a single screen, which is perfect for us. It just makes communication smoother and more organised without any extra cost. Once done I uploaded photos and adverts I wanted to display to my screen. I had seasonal displays that expired after specific dates as well as permanent displays that would scroll through a slideshow. It's worked as expected with no major issues and I have been happy with the software. Pros I am in charge of marketing for a local restaurant, including website development, menu design, posters, and anything else that can be used to sell the business. The TV screens used to showcase sports were largely unused during food service so I looked for a system to display adverts and signage to promote certain products. Since I had a spare Raspberry Pi in my house it, Yodeck seemed to be eactly what we were looking for. We use it to display special menus, seasonal menus, QR codes for online ordering and digital menus, and adverts for promoted dishes. It has worked flawlessly so far, with customers asking what system we use. The ability to modify the screens from home and add new media without visiting the building is fantastic, and so far have had a 100% uptime. There are a range of apps that are built in, although I am yet to try them as the basic features are fatastic. Cons I had some problems with initital setup. The Raspberry Pi seemed to have trouble booting, and had no display. I also had trouble getting SSH access, although after a couple days plugged in I visited the restaurant and the screens had started working. No idea why I had trouble but there's not many reasons to dislike the software as it worked exactly as I wanted. We also enjoyed the use of the various integration tools that we were able to use when creating dashboards. Pros Yodeck was super easy and simple to set up. Beyond set up, the administration of it and support that we have had was great! We started by trying the free tier to play around with it, and we have been super satisfied! If you have a few screens, Yodeck is the way to go. Pros It's such an easy system and reliable! It's very good value for what you re paying and it's a plug and play system which is very helpful when managing it.. Cons I really like everything about Yodeck. Very happy with it. Yes, the power on and off is not foolproof but this is not Yodeck's fault but rather the TV vendor. 90% of our TVs it works fine on one the schedule and power on and off doesn't. TVs also lose power which resets their internal clocks which causes issues. March 5, 2025 5.0 My overall experience with Yodeck has been positive. There are a few minor issues but nothing that takes me away from the platform or results in me viewing it in a negative light. Pros Yodeck provides a streamlined process to communicate media on a TV. You can organise media, create schedules, playlists, import Google Slides, setup widgets, and so much more. Long gone are the days of plugging in a USB to the side of the screen or needing to connect a laptop and running through HDMI, just hoping the aspect ratio matches. Yodeck sorts this all for us remotely. Cons I'd love to be able to setup a playlist, assign it to a schedule, but have certain images within the playlist set with an expiry date of sorts. For example, if an event were promoted through an image in a playlist, to ensure that event is promoted after the event takes place, I can create a second playlist, go into my schedules, and then have one playlist (with event promo) set to a certain date, and then another playlist after that. If I could instead set an expiry on that image, I setup one playlist, set it to run forever, and then load in my image with an expiry or "auto-remove from playlist" date to help me automate my workflow and not need as many playlists. Just a small thing. One other, is that one user can't have access to multiple Yodeck properties. I need to set up another email for another Yodeck. This really needs to be fixed. Previously, I utilised Zoom for digital signage, but I have found that Yodeck provides simplicity and efficiency. The feature that allows me to schedule signage in advance for in-office events, where specific messages are desired, is particularly useful. Overall, the system operates flawlessly. Pros Ease of use and really easy to deploy. I was previously using Zoom for digital signage and I find that Yodeck offers simplicity and efficiency. The ability to set schedules ahead of in-house events in the office where we want specific signage on show is great and overal works flawlessly. Cons I haven't had any problems with Yodeck so far so there isn't really anything to complain about at the moment.
