November 18, 2024 5.0 We have found that Yodeck is easy to use and the creative services team is able to manage the content calendar on their own without intervention from IT. The interface is responsive and I like that the raspberry pi caches the content in the event of a network outage. Pros IT is super easy to use and the maintenance effort is minimal. Cons The integrations were not so strong in the beginning of our use, but these have improved quite a bit in the last 3 years. I can upload videos, images, and even create custom playlists right from my laptop, and it syncs perfectly to my screen. The scheduling feature is one of my favorites—it lets me plan exactly when content should play, so I don’t have to worry about it. What’s amazing is that even on the free plan, they don’t skimp on features. The templates and widgets are super helpful for making the screen look polished and professional, even if you’re not a design expert. Plus, since it works seamlessly with a Raspberry Pi, it’s super affordable to set up. The software is reliable easy to understand and comes at a fair price for commercial uses or personal. Multi screen PIP (picture in picture) is what i liked the most. The app has required reinstalling once so far in two months of use but that may be more of an issue with the TV and not Yodeck. It's easy to upload content through Yodeck or Canva and for a free service it is second to none. Pros Ease of use, the ability to link with Canva and seamlessly add creations from Canva to Yodeck. Pros I've demo'd several services and each had their own pro's but YoDeck has the most flexibility, best apps, best functionality. I've tried the pi player, Windows player, and web player. All work great. Using the Windows player converts the OS so you don't have to worry about autologin etc. It just boots up and goes to town. The weather app is much easier to you. I like how there are playlists, and layouts. It makes it where there is so much flexibility Cons Others didn't have the features that YoDeck has but if I had a recommendation for a feature, it would be a way to insert crawling text over everything. I have a playlist cycling through layouts. I could really use a crawling text that would continue scrolling, even over the cycling layouts. If it was applied to the "screen" like the emergency alert stuff that would be a huge wanted feature.
