It took contacting support about 3 times in order to get all of the Windows installation bugs worked through. We were up and running on a demo raspberry pi before purchasing within minutes, with full Audo/Video experience. Cons Being normally based on RaspPi when there are supply chain issues getting a Rasp Pi you can get a delay in your order.They ae always quick though when in stock. Pros Whoever created and designed did a phenomenal job. Our experiences with yo deck has been nothing but praise. The user face is easy to use, understand, and to get up and running. On average it took about 5 minutes to set up (we received yodeck players at a minimal cost) and the fact that they offer free yodeck players with a yearly purchase is amazing. The only things we had to do to set up a yodeck player was plug it in, and plug in an ethernet cord. From there using the Remote Management portal on yodeck was a breeze after that. Cons The only thing I have found difficult to use is the calendar interface. It gets quite confusing if you have multiple things going on at once, however, it is a very minor issue. The calendar interface could use some TLC but other than that, the product is amazing. I can update the screens in various locations throughout our shop and have no problems. The set up was super easy and the websites that can be copy and pasted for web use works very well. This way I am able to put up safety videos over subjects we have problems with. I love that you can add powerpoint as well and it will set up the times to scroll through all of it. In some scenarios with past digital signage companies I had to paste slide for slide so this saves me a ton of time. provides free players with subscriptions to services which makes it very convenient should you have to present for approval to corporate. All in all this is a great platform and I enjoy using it. Cons There is nothing I can think of besides maybe having a day counter option. Very easy to set up. Was up and running with pictures on the screen in under an hour. Pros Very easy to set up from scratch. Our trial time was on a self-purchased Raspberry Pi. 's instructions for setting up a self-purchased player were easy to follow and I was up and running in 15 minutes. Since all media is pushed to players, rather than streaming, the WiFi bandwidth is kept to a minimum. The site itself is easy to navigate and mostly figure out without help. I contacted support on the couple items for which I had questions. They were either able to respond via chat or got back to me within a few hours via email. I really like the media handling of their site. Adding start and expiration dates makes it easier than checking daily to get rid of expired material. Layouts work great as we have our logo, the current date and time as well as a ticker and another entire playlist in a shrunken box on the screen at the same time. Cons No real downsides or dislikes, but there are a couple things that could use improvement. One of them is I wish they would allow you to turn off audio on a video-by-video basis. The only audio controls they offer is the ability to set the TV volume to a certain level on a schedule. I don't need this. I want to be able to have a checkbox that enables or disables audio - or better yet - an audio playback level on a video-by-video basis. I can create really stunning digital signages, for multiple screens, and then be versatile and put livestreams on them for special events. The school is extremely happy with the implementation of them and have been a welcome addition to the school. Pros for me is a system that I have now implemented into 2 schools that I have worked at as part of the IT Team. It has always been reliable for a team to manage, and the flexibility that Yodeck provides, personally, makes it come out above its competitors. The reason I continue to use Yodeck and would recommend it is that it is continually supporting new features, listening to customer feedback, and has excellent customer service. The amount of times I have emailed the support team asking for them to provide a very specific bit of code to create a custom website widget, and they always provide exactly what I need. The UI is also perfect for both IT Pro's, admin staff and Marketing teams. This helps me personally shift the responsibility to them, and being on hand to support the hardware or software, or occasionally ask my opinion on designs and content. Cons is a powerful system for its price, so it's harsh to pick faults. But from our personal experience in a school, there are a few things I would love to have implemented. We are a Microsoft school, so we would love to see built-in SSO for Microsoft 365, like it has with Google. Similarly, more Microsoft Apps would be welcome to the app selection. Additionally, when pushing new content, it would be amazing if it could preload in the background, and then slowly fade to the new content when it is ready, instead of the stuttery and harsh transition as each content piece loads. I know this is partly limited by hardware, but the option to have this would be great. It would also be amazing if you could have 'views' and deep permission levels so you can restrict individual folders. I would also, from a UI point, like to see Apps / Media merged into one as they use share the same folders anyway. Reason for choosing Yodeck The software, permissions, ease of use, cost, experience, all amalgamate it to be the sensible option. Personally, my experience with the system can be used as an advantage in support, training and time to set up. The UI receives frequent updates, that they document on their blog. Meaning that bugs are fixed and user voice is heard. The competitor’s software that was highlighted previously offer good solutions, but their difficulty to use the interface and the time required to use was their downfall. Some of the features that they had were better than , but they were let down by missing key features that Yodeck did have, such as easy customisable layout and being less educationally orientated.
