May 10, 2023 5.0 It was awesome that I could use my raspberry pi as a player and super easy to set up. I eventually ordered another yodeck player, which was free, and it was shipped fast. I was up and running multiple monitors in under 20 minutes. Pros All the free templates, the ability to customize them with ease, then schedule when to run and end, and embed playlists within playlists. Automatic emergency alerts and custom alerts are super helpful. So many options and integrations... I like that they continue to add more widgets and integrations Cons Customer support never responded to my help request regarding the use of ICS files and one of their widgets. Even one very non-tech oriented employee is using it with no issues. It is easy and fast to add and delete content from playlists as well as reorder it! Someone let me know I had a date wrong on one slide and I had it corrected and playing before she even got back to the monitor! Pros This is so easy to use! Our IT person set up the players very quickly and after looking at the help section and a few You Tube videos, I was ready to start pushing out content! Our monitors hadn't been updated in a year due to a staffing change, so we did some research, found Yodeck to be very user friendly, and ordered it! Cons It might be nice to be able to add a greater number of photos to a playlist. Reason for choosing Yodeck We switched from Magic Info Express. Easily a five-star service. Pros If you need digital signage, Yodeck makes it so easy. Yes, you could DIY it for cheaper, but I love their platform and dedicated support. All I have to do is focus on the creative side. Also, it's extremely advanced yet approachable, and our business will enjoy implementing the more advanced features over time. Currently, we operate a small cafe, food truck, and clothing brand, and we use the Yodeck players to control four different screens (two digital menus and two branded content displays. We upload our own custom content, but if we didn't have a design team, using their pre-built layouts would be just as good. Cons The layout editor is pretty amazing; however, having the ability to load custom fonts would be a game-changer. We get around that by uploading all our final designs and menus from Adobe and just uploading them to the Yodeck platform, but it would be amazing if we could stay on brand using their layout editor as well. There is a lack of integrations with Squareup and other POS services for menu data control. Pros This is a great solution for those wanting to control displays over several devices. You can schedule content to your hearts desire. Cons Some of the scripting interface can be daunting, but the support guys are amazing and will help you wherever they can, often going above and beyond what you asked. As a nonprofit, costs are always a priority to be balanced alongside functionality; however, at Yodeck's price, I don't feel like we needed to sacrifice any functionality. After months of searching our team landed on Yodeck and there has been no complaints! Cons I wish there was a mobile app to manage the content. Pros The ease of use is extremely important because I do not have time to spend trying to figure out how to upload, delete, etc. I need to log in, upload and push to my playlists as quickly as possible so I can get back to my other work duties. The free Raspberry Pi digital players were another key point in deciding to make the switch to YoDeck, these are very useful. Cons I had some trouble setting up the YoDeck players initially but that's because I put in the wrong wifi password when pre-configuring them at the factory. Overall, not a big deal, was an easy quick fix on site. Everything is organized, and with a bit of familiarisation, it works well.I also have nothing but praise for the support. So far, all questions have been answered promptly. Cons So far, I haven't found anything about this because all questions can be answered via support and the solution is already complete from the ground up. Pros It is very easy to setup, the dashboard is intuitive, I didn't need to ask for any help with how to set up a playlist, the drag and drop function is slick and being able to pre-plan, set up and run campaigns in the future via the calendar is fantastic. Being remote means I can adapt it at a moments notice, upload quickly and change the display if needs be. Cons I rally haven't found any yet, we only use it for one screen currently. December 7, 2023 5.0 Pros The first thing was that the system was easy to learn and it is easy to use. When starting a new job there are enough things to learn and this technology was one of the easier things that I had to learn and be in charge of. We use it in our lobby to personalize a greeting when we have guests. If I have a last minute notification that someone is coming in it is super easy to upload what I need and get it in place. There are a ton of features and they are always adding more to it. I submitted a recommendation on their site for a new feature and they reached out to me to have a discussion on what specific needs I was looking for. I didn't expect that and it was amazing, most places wouldn't make that effort. It seems they are always looking to improve their product, which is already amazing. There are a ton of ways you can use their solution and the pricing is great as well. Highly recommended. Cons I really can't think of any cons - they've got it all covered for what we need and use it for. Everything can be done from a browser, and if something stops, you just have to restart the hardware. Cons There is a lag between deplying and showing.
