### "Very powerful product for managing teams and projects."

October 28, 2025

5.0

Awesome software! I love how it combines what Slack does, with chat and channels, but it's combined with other PM tools, like Jira or Asana. Saves my team and I time by keeping everything connected in one platform organized by projects and teams. Also the customer support when I got stuck using custom fields was fantastic. They responded the same day.

Pros

Easy to use and feature rich. Affordable and much less expensive than competitors that lack features.

Cons

Sometimes can take time to learn more complex features, and new features are frequently released, which comes with the good and bad.

Overall, BasicOps has been a solid productivity and collaboration tool for our team. It simplifies project tracking, improves accountability, and makes communication clearer. With a few more customization options and enhanced integrations, it could become a go-to platform for even larger teams.

Pros

BasicOps has a very clean, intuitive interface that makes task management and collaboration easy. I particularly liked how quickly I could set up projects, assign tasks, and track progress without a steep learning curve. The real-time updates and notifications also help teams stay aligned. Thank you for organizing my Project Management Office!

Cons

Some of the advanced features (like deeper integrations or custom reporting) felt limited or required higher-tier plans. The mobile app, while functional, could be more polished for heavy use on the go.

### "Excellent, Intuitive Project Management and Collaboration"

January 8, 2026

5.0

It has an intuitive interface and helps my team stay on schedule. No more switching back and forth between apps, with Basicops it's all in one place.

Pros

Excellent value for the cost. It has helped us make huge improvements in our processes and efficiency.

Cons

No real issues, but I do wish there was a standalone app. Added to hit the character minimum: Greek green purple dinosaur pterodactyl flies

### "Perfect combination of simplicity and functionality"

February 26, 2025

5.0

Overall, our experience with BasicOps has been fantastic. It has significantly optimized our processes—from onboarding new team members to storing client information and quickly accessing everything we need when working with clients. It's a solid tool that keeps our workflow smooth, organized, and effective.

Pros

We've been using BasicOps as our go-to project management tool, and it has truly streamlined how we work. The simplicity of the workflow is what stands out the most—it keeps things intuitive and efficient without unnecessary clutter. Having chat and meetings integrated directly within the platform is a game-changer, allowing our team to communicate seamlessly without switching between apps. The unlimited depth of project structuring is another huge advantage, making it perfect for managing large-scale, complex projects without losing visibility.

Cons

One thing that could use improvement is the chat popup—it stays up until every response and reply is read, which can be a bit intrusive at times. A bit more flexibility in dismissing it without having to mark everything as read would be a welcome tweak.

### "Intuitive and easy to use planning tool."

February 3, 2025

5.0

Very positive, I had quick satisfaction using the product the first time.

Pros

The main benefit of BasicOps compared to the many other products in this category o which I have used quite a few, are the very intuitive concepts, low threshold to get started and quick time to see that you have some success in using the product. Often you experience with new products that they fail on a lot of these points. BasicOps does a excellent job of nailing these.

Cons

The less than 100% integration with Active Directory. I would like to see that there is a easy & quick way to import groups and easy way to provision new users as they pop into AD.

### "BasicOps User Experience"

May 19, 2025

5.0

The search for a useful project management platform is a struggle, but BasicOps finds a useful niche that allows me and my team to work together with minimal friction.

Pros

BasicOps allows me to work with my team in the most efficient way possible, combining elements of both task management and communication. I am very fond of the personal feed feature, which allows me to track my individual tasks throughout the day.

Cons

Opening BasicOps can initially seem a little bit daunting, however the guides and hints quickly got me set up to use BasicOps to the most of its ability.

### "The power of Slack and Asana in one platform"

February 28, 2025

5.0

As a long-time user, I appreciate how the product has developed to add powerful features without becoming bloated or overly complex. The power of BasicOps comes from the whole team using it, and keeping discussions about the work tied to the task, rather than off in different apps like Slack or email. For anyone who has used a few project management systems, you'll appreciate how important that is.

Pros

Clean and clear design, tasks and their associated discussions are kept together, integrates with all major systems from Google Workplace to Dropbox to Zoom.

Cons

Nothing specific - works well for taking actions in meetings, working with different groups and seeing all the activities in one place.

### "BasicOps is a critical tool for us to manage veteran suicide prevention"

June 14, 2024

5.0

BasicOps has been tremendous in helping us to understand the product and how to best apply the software for our unique needs.

Pros

Love the ease of use and the awesome (and incredibly capable and responsive) team of developers! Also love the organization of data and the ability to search/filter and find important information.

Cons

We do not yet have the granularity of control over who can access which files that we would like, but this is a work in progress.

### "Incredibly useful for collaboration"

June 10, 2024

5.0

We're very satisfied with BasicOps. The app was easy to set up, and it's helped us collaborate on and stay organized with campaigns. It's straightforward to assign new projects and delegate tasks among team mebers, which has been great for working collaboratively to create new content. Will definitely continue using it!

Pros

The platform design is intuitive and easy to navigate. BasicOps helps us stay organized when we're collaborating on various projects and need to quickly locate and share documents – we don't need to sort through various tabs to find important files, which has been a major time-saver. We can also easily collaborate on marketing campaigns, especially because we can connect to to other key platforms (such as Google Drive and Figma) within BasicOps.

Cons

Nothing – the product has been incredibly helpful.

### "Fresh and GOOD solution"

April 12, 2024

5.0

We wasn't sure what to expect at the beginning, maybe just another try and fail stuff, but hey we keep using it and we don't find anything better and more simple then this. You don't need to spend hours and hours of learning how to use it. You need only few hours and you are ready to go. You get managment, history, file sharing, team cooperation and much more. Please give it a try and you will see that this review wasn't just made to promote this project it is really that good. I wish to creators all the best and want to see this on every PC ;)

Pros

Simplicity, Idea, ease of use and implementation. This was made with aim for teams to work together, share their ideas and discuss about task, projects etc. The people behind it are enthusiastic and passionate, they want to make something new something better and we see a lot of protentional in it.

Cons

It is at the early stage, there can be some bug or missing function but without try there can't be success. You can use it at daily bases even now, everything that comes in the future will be just bonus to already a good product.

### "More Productive Meetings with BasicOps!"

February 13, 2024

5.0

My experience has been very positive! The company is run by a fantastic team that is very receptive to feedback that improves end user experiences.

Pros

I like that I am able to have access to a rich note taking and project management tool natively within my meeting client. BasicOps allows me the ability to focus on my meeting while it is underway, without having to multi-task across multiple screens and applications in order to effectively take notes while in a meeting. I also like how easy it is for me to organize my notes in BasicOps, which greatly helps my Account Management workflows!

Cons

BasicOps is powerful and feature rich. This is great! But this does add some complexity when the intent is to perform simple tasks. Like note taking in meetings for account management purposes.

### "A small newcomer on the vast market of project management tools"

January 23, 2023

4.0

I use BasicOps to keep track of all personal and many company wide projects. And in our case it works much better than before with Basecamp.

Pros

I bought BasicOps on AppSumo in a lifetime deal. So, first of all the price was important for me. I tried the free version before purchasing. And it fulfilled all our needs in our small company. I love the easy of use and the spectrum of use from very simple shopping list style projects up to complex constructs. Quick and helpful support.

Cons

BasicOps seems to be a small project/company with a small team. The user adoption seems not to be quite high, even though this is a solid product with a lot of potential. But I can also see the further development rate is rather slow right now (Jan '23) - at least what I can see as a frontend user. (But the support is always quite fast and helpful.)

### "BasicOps, an alternative to help aid your to-do list."

February 22, 2023

4.0

It's an ok experience overall. I won't say that I am disappointed because it allowed my team to manage tasks and assign tasks easiers. But we are not getting anything much more.

Pros

BasicOps allows the administrative team to assign tasks and create specific projects for those tasks. It does allow the team to have a little more clarity upon what tasks are being tackled and how far along the task is taking. It also allows communication for the team to know what is happening and communicate clearly.

Cons

It does not allow the team to have real clarity about the progress and status of a project. It does allow the team to get tasks assigned for a specific project but not much is provided than that. It also does not provide a time line for the team, this has to be management externally. And the thing I also disliked is the fact that the tasks disappears once they have been finished. You don't have a way to see historical tasks.

### "BasicOps is more then Basic"

January 27, 2023

5.0

First I was sceptical that it was the next project management tool, which was missing the functions i want/need.The shock was after 15 minutes that it actually has all the features and even the ones i am missing in a lot of tools. 2 hours later bought the licenses, 3 weeks later its one of our core project management application which totally fulfill our project working. Saves us $$$$ in licenses from other products, we integrate with clients if they don't want to use our system, 1 hour setup max. Currently we are happy, have build our risk register for the moment ourselves untill this is added.

Pros

The system has all good functions in a simple overview. In which you have additional options to make it just as complex as you want. The basic covers 99% of what people need on a normal project. with the site options for more complex options you can create all the extra functions. If you still get stuck on something, the integrations work awesome for the last mile. You just have to make it where project management is about, the goal to be reached. Not about all the side administration. Which is still possible and supported. But when used most of the time absolutely not clear why.

Cons

For me the only con, but i have seen it almost never in project systems, overview over multiple projects which are not build up in one project in my gant overviews.

### "Good way to plan the tasks and most important good way to communicate with your coworkers."

June 22, 2021

5.0

Overall my team is extremly happy with it. As I mentioned above it provided us with the flexibility we needed also the shared space of discutions and notes is something that we love!

Pros

The software is relatively simple and offers good onboarding with detailed videos that were provided on YouTube. I loved the fact that you can structure the tasks the way you like and after estimation you can see a visual representation in the calendar tab, personally that helps me a lot. Another thing I like is that you can download the application on your phone and be always up to date with the progress of your team. The product offers good integrations with your email and even storage places such as DropBox. Once you connect your email the events are going to be exported in the 'Feed' section and that is extremely helpful. The project is perfectly suitable for big but also small companies like Startup Central, because it is easier to organize the tasks in projects for the different departments.

Cons

1.What annoys me is that the application on the phone logs you out after shord period of time. 2.Personally, I am experiencing difficulties using the 'calendar' tab and connecting the tasks such as which one is sequance of the other. 3.The autocorrect/red underlining in the text areas is disabled, so if you make a mistake such as 'relavitely' does not get underlined in red and you can completely miss it out!

### "Anything \*but\* "Basic" 😃"

December 27, 2022

5.0

BasicOps is anything but basic. We are a boutique business and like many businesses require serious organization without the "bells and whistles" and fancy fanfare. BasicOps not only gets the job done but does so with an efficiency that's uncomplicated and to the point. It's intuitive and a pleasure to use. We're able to manage in-house business while staying on top of client projects/tasks. It's a great compliment to our CRM without competing with it or duplicating features it already has. BasicOps comes highly recommended by us.P.S.One feature we really find it useful for, is managing all of our lifetime deals (LTDs) purchases. It's great for keeping them organized in categories of what to "Consider", needs "Review" before the expiration date approaches, the ones that are a"Keep", and the ones being "Returned". The discussion section helps us identify the pros and cons of a product and reminds us of why we're keeping it or returning it; it also helps prevent any double purchases (yes, been there and actually freak'n did that - SMH). We could go on about how BasicOps has really made a positive influence on how we do business, keep organized, and supports accountability. Huge KUDOS to BasicOps for such a dynamic product!

Pros

One of the main things we liked most about BasicOps is that it's not overly complicated. It has all of the essentials necessary for management software without being over the top.

Cons

There is nothing that comes to mind that we do not like about BasicOps.

Alternatives considered

[Taskade](https://www.capterra.com/p/170932/Taskade/)

Reason for choosing BasicOps

We chose BasicOps over the listed alternatives because it wasn't overly complicated to use, and it offered precisely what was needed without the extra fanfare. Some of the other software, like Taskade, just had way too much going on - for instance, way too many options for templates. It detracted our focus and ended up wasting valuable time.

### "Great as is and had a ton of potential for a lot more"

5.0

So far, I've loved the interface and easy of use of the platform better than any other system I've used over the years.

Pros

Honestly, the #1 reason I love this platform is it's clean interface. I've used several others, and they just seem clunky and not quite finished. Basic Ops has both form and function.

Cons

My only negative with the platform is the lack of ability to white label it for client access and attach our own domain for it. Hope this feature gets added soon.
