Pros As a two-factor authentication tool, it is easy to use, you can easily install it in different cell phones and OS. Cons I didn't find any cons in Duo security, as an user, I found it very convenient. You just need to register your phone in advance, then when the system requires two-factor authentication, it will direct you to the cell phone,. This 2FA works seamlessly with our Network either with the use of a mobile device app, hardware token or even a code over a landline phone. Pros Duo Security is probably one of the easiest 2 Factor authentication platform out there. It is a great Value for you money and the account and Device management is straight forward and easy with their Administrative panel Cons There was not much to dislike about this platform. The users we deploy to like how easy it is to set up, and they have one MFA for most of their tools. It also has a great SSO option, which makes it reliable for our business use-case. The price is great for what we can do with it, and we feel secure in our business. Support has been wonderful as well! Cons We haven't run into too many issues with Duo. When we have a problem, they're here to help us get rolling! Our integrations were easy to set up, and we didn't have much pushback from users when implementing Duo as opposed to other MFA providers. Works well with other services for a well rounded authentication service across the board. Pros Very simple authenticator to use. Easy process to login and verify user. Good value for money for our needs. User and account management was comprehensive and easy to do. Customer support not used by me but my team had no issues with them. In the world of today where security is a big concern, multi-factor authentication is essential. Pros We use Duo Security to login to almost all our cloud infrastructure platforms. It is simple and minimum set up is required for someone to get set up and start using. It provides a variety of authentication methods like one-time passwords, push notifications, SMS etc. My favourite authentication method is the approval methods by the mobile phone app. The way it works is that once you input your username and password, a prompt is then sent to your phone with two options, either approve or deny. It is only after selecting Approve that you are signed in. I like this method because it is the easiest to use of all the multi-factor authentication methods available for Duo Security. Another advantage of Duo Security is that it works with quite a number of platforms ranging from desktop services, cloud services and VPNs.Duo Security offers insightful analytics which helps you track the security of your platforms. Login attempts can be monitored, and potential security threats eliminated before they can cause any harm. Cons Duo Security is very much connectivity and mobile device dependent. This may not be accessible to everyone at any given time. Another limitation of Duo Security is that the mobile application is only accessible through certain phones with a certain a specific android version for Android Mobile Users. There is this one time when the application failed to install in one of my colleagues phone. They had to use their wife's phone for multi-factor authentication whenever they needed to login to a specific remote desktop. Review Source TR Thea R. Most likely because the living expenses are getting higher on a rate that we cant keep up. So as companies try to transition in providing the best experience for the employees but still ensuring their data privacy. I'd say Duo is a great companion. You cant access social media sites when it's turned on, cant even stream videos outside your company's domain. One good layer of protection for data that are essential for the clients and customers. Duo Security is also easy to understand, the graphics are simple. The navigation plane and home page is very basic and doesn't really take up too much storage space on your phone. Cons One great enhancement would be if the Push Notifications are accessible from the notification bar just like how you can approve it by one tap and without having to open the app itself. As long as the device is paired to the company domain. It has allowed me to make sure that sensitive information stays safe and away from prying eyes. It also gives me a sense of security financially, as some of my accounts secured by Duo are linked to payment portals. Pros Duo is a great way to ensure that your electronic information and accounts are secure. I have used it as a student and I have found that it is reliable and provides peace of mind. It provides a dual authentication process so that no one can access my accounts but me. I like that any attempt to login to an account sends a notification instantly to my personal cell phone, allowing me to approve or deny access. Cons I have experienced a few technical bugs with the software in my time using it, though they are relatively infrequent. There are times when Duo will push a login approval to my phone and then fail to allow me to log in to my profile even though I have accepted the push. It can also be confusing trying to figure out how to change settings with Duo. For example, if you have set the software to preferentially send an automatic push upon requesting login, it can be difficult to change that setting. There could be a little more clear direction regarding that process from Duo. January 6, 2022 5.0 Duo has helped me meet my university single sign on security requirement for access to my account. I especially appreciate that I can use Duo with multiple accounts at once. That feature has been the best because I didn't actually have to set up anything new. Pros This product keeps your accounts safe and secure. With increasing use of single sign on for workplace accounts, Duo has been useful in providing the multifactor authentication my university requires in order to access my account. One benefit has been the ability to use Duo for security authentication with two additional accounts. Having one program to help manage access has been critical. It's easy to use, once you have made the initial installation, and provides secure authentication with the simple selection of "approve" or "deny" from the notification message itself. I have heard very few complaints from other students and colleagues at my university. Pros Duo makes it very easy for me to log-on to my student account at my university. I like how it is intuitive to use on iPhone especially, and it gives me the option to call or text my phone. I rarely use the "call" feature, however, because I am always using wifi. The Duo Security app pops up immediately, and I am able to approve the request quickly from my phone. I feel very secure with this software, especially since the pin changes every few seconds. Cons I don't always have my phone with me, which makes it impossible to log in. I wish there was a feature where I could receive an email instead of a call or a text on Duo. I have not seen this feature at all, but it would make my life easier.
