Makes me have peace of mind that no one can hack into any of my accounts. Even if they try to login, I can simply deny their login request. I have been using this for almost two years now, never encountered a problem. Pros The ease of use is the best feature. It is simple to operate and makes logins more secure. You can easily link your google account or your bank account from the link option available. To login you can choose to receive a call, or a push notification (phone internet connectivity required) or enter a passcode (provided by the duo app). You also have the option to remember your device for a maximum of 60 days. You can still login if you don't have internet connectivity on you phone by using the "enter passcode option" or simply receiving a conformation call to you phone. And that is pretty much all you need! Cons There is nothing to dislike about this software. Although, I would like to point out that you have to be careful of not giving your phone to anyone. Pros Working within a university with highly sensitive data, it is very important that all of our documents and software is protected from outside entities. Duo Security allows for a 2-factor sign-in that protects your personal computer and access to software platforms. With 2 methods of confirming identity, it helps to filter out most fraud attempts and allows us to feel secure with the sensitive data that we manage daily. Pros Duo Security was easy to use and was my go-to 2FA tool for over a year. It just worked and was worry free. Cons You can get into trouble with Duo if you change devices and do not disconnect the 2FA setup from the device. Pros That it helped keep my login secure, it is no longer just a password that is needed but you also need to be able to authenticate who is trying to login to your account and I think this software is the way to go. Easy to use and no disruptions in the service. Pros Very wasy to use. No much more to say, it´s simple and works very well. It can be integrated with lot of apps. Cons Sometimes using WIFI networks take some seconds to receive push. I have 1GB optic fiber, don´t think so itcould be due WIFI. Perhaps it´s the handset WIFI module. This has been very useful in both securing my account and also not taking up too much time for the login process. Pros Good security tool, better than the traditional 2-factor authentication that requires a code to be texted to the phone and then the code needs to be typed in. Has good security features like request timing out after a certain period of time. Cons Duo Push needs internet connection on the phone to work is a major disadvantage. Also, in case of slow internet the push request takes longer to arrive sometimes causing the request to time out. I found the application super easy to sign up for, to use, and to implement into my daily work life. At no inconvenience to me my account is more secure and I can rest easier. Pros I like that this software is so simple to use. Once you sign up, that's it! You can receive a push notification to your phone anytime a device tries to log into your specified account. By accepting the push notification you don't even have to re-enter your password. I feel safe knowing my accounts are being monitored! Cons I haven't delved too deep into the software's other features, but I would say the product could improve by presenting the user with more security options than presently available. Duo are very proactive about any outages or issues on their network and seem to resolve these quickly. none have directly affected us Cons It is slightly expensive, well its not but customers perceive it to be as we have to recharge the licence but they are used to 2FA for free with other services. Customer service has been non-existent following Cisco acquisition" March 10, 2020 2.0 Pros We have used Duo for many years. It was easy to implement and has always worked well. Cons Last year we negotiated bulk pricing and paid in advance for a 14-month term. Later we discovered that they had never provisioned our licenses and were still billing our credit card. Now, four months later, after numerous phone calls and more than a dozen emails, they have still not provisioned the licenses we paid for. They have acknowledged that this is their mistake and they need to fix it, but they seem incapable of doing so. I get the sense that their organization is completely dysfunctional following the Cisco acquisition. Given that they cannot solve the challenge of "how does a customer purchase your software?", I am worried what might happen if you came to them with anything more difficult. Pros I like how small the program is and how seamless it plays in my day to day login. The reaction time is quick and I can login knowing I am secure. Cons Sometimes it can be annoying when you phone is not around and you are trying to login into something. But I guess there's no getting around that with two step authentication. Cons I am not sure why but the push authentication feature does not work on my work phone. It would be easier to use that feature than getting a call or text. Pros The ability to have applications or VPN's that are locked down and authenticated with DUO helped to bring our security into the 21st century. End users can get a push to their device which they acknowledge. They do not even need to manually type in the code (though that is also an option!) Cons The only downside is really on the user end. If they are not quick enough to accept the prompt from DUO, the log in attempt will fail. Cons The program is really easy to use to with a simple push of a button on your phone, but if you don't have your phone there is no way to get through the Duo security, a computer app is needed.
