Can have multiple Duo programs under the same app. Cons Should allow a login for easy installation on a new phone or tablet. We have some more technologically not-so-savvy employees, and they were even able to catch on fast. It's nice that you also have the option for them to call your cell too, if you don't want to do the app or do not have a smart phone. Has really helped boost our security and keep compliant. The ability to just click a button on the phone app to authenticate is awesome, but beyond that you have call and text options in the rare case that the app is not working. I know MFA can be annoying in general for the average user, but Duo takes away some of that pain by being very user friendly. Cons Adding new users can be a bit of a pain sometimes. I sometimes have to setup laptops for new employees, and when logging into their duo-linked apps, I find that I have to have my colleagues setup some fairly roundabout bypasses. Pros I have been using Duo Security for 9 months, and I feel this is a very capable tool to protect all of my data and information. Previously my account was hacked by people who access my data from other devices, but after using Duo Security, all my data is not accessible to anyone other than me (thanks to the dual authentication process) Cons Sometimes when I access Duo Security from my cellphone, I encounter several problems due to errors in the login process. but this only happened a few times. Some software really is just plain easy to use. Pros Duo is easy to use. Setup was effortless. The graphical interface is simple and streamlined, providing all the functionality I need without overhead. Finally, the push notification functionality makes 2-factor auth super quick -- no need to even open the app. I like the DUO branding. Their website is well-designed and has a lot of information. Also, the "behind-the-scenes" aspect of their security algorithms and infrastructure sounds pretty high quality (though I am not an expert). Cons I don't have any complaints related to the user experience. We use it to access payroll information, reports, our shared drive, and other things you want extra security around. Pros I like the fact the fact that Duo is so easy to use. You can it up to verify in different ways - through an app, a call, or email. I sue the app which I love. A simple swipe and accept and you are in your site securely. For computers that are secure and you use regularly you can have it remember you for 30 days which is very convenient for sites you use multiple times a day. Cons I really don't have any complains about the software. It works great for my purposes. The only thing I have heard people complain about is just two step verification in general. The Duo App has a simply designed platform. When we sign into the website that requires authentification, we can just type a passcode provided by Duo App on the website or click an authentification request given by Duo App. Yes, it is that easy with Duo. Cons Setting up the Duo from the scratch can be challenging to some people who are not familiar with two-factor authentification. It is important for organizations or companies to provide a step-by-step installation procedure to users before they start using Duo as their sole authentification method. It's helpful using the mobile app because I don't have to open the internet every single time I need authentication. If a random person tried to get into my account, I'd get notified by the app and I could deny them access! Or, if I am trying to get in, it's a single easy click to let myself in. I definitely think this should be used for things like banking accounts for authentication purposes. It's great to increase security on accounts. Cons Authentication itself is just kind of a pain. Sometimes having to go grab my phone just to get into my account is annoying! I wonder if there'd be a way to avoid this, such as to download it as an app on a computer and authenticate that way? Pros We use this for two factor I’d for work apps. It’s nice. I like the layout and the ability to customize adding our logos and all. It really is similar to other apps though. Cons It’s really finicky when I have low phone signal compared to others. Seems to sign out too quickly and require many sign ins when using multiple University apps off campus. The app is easy to use and easy to setup. Pros I use Duo Security when I log into work. Before Each shift, I log in and send a notification to the Duo app and click the pop up to login. I feel safer with the added security. Users have the ability to get a push, call, or passcode notification to log in. It is also easy to set up. Cons The biggest con is that it is an app for the phone. I broke my phone and could not log into work. I had to contact my management team to figure out a work around. Pros Two-factor authentication is annoying but with Duo its slightly less painful. The need for dual authentication comes from people hacking in easily so adding Duo as a security measure really lowers that risk. Its super simple to use and has never crashed on me. Cons The only thing is it requires you to have you phone on. Sometimes my phone is dead or I have misplaced it so I cannot log in to certain portals. I use DUO daily. Several times a day. My favorite part is that it allows for push notifications. I can quickly and easily sign in via push through my iphone or my apple watch. Cons I have not really found anything that I dislike about DUO. One minor thing that i can think of is there can sometimes be a delay with signing in. I wish it worked more consistently, specifically the ability to respond via the push notification. But I do appreciate the ability to just use a push notification instead of getting a code every time. Pros I always appreciate 2FA, and I'm glad our institution is now requiring it for all users. So I like that Duo keeps me safer, and that the app is relatively simple to use. I appreciate that you can just respond via a push notification rather than waiting for a code. Cons The app doesn't always work. On either of my phones (both recent, capable devices), sometimes hitting "Accept" in the notification just doesn't work, sometimes it opens the app, or sometimes it just fails and makes me send another push. I have not had any issues using it or getting connected. Pros Working in Higher Ed and files and documents for the students needs to be secure. I appreciate the ease and use of DUO. Having dual authentication to log into email and software gives me the assurance that it will not be easy for someone to pick up a phone to access personal files, but has to have access to another device to authenticate the login. Cons Everytime I log into my email, I have to wait for the pop up to authenticate the DUO screen to access my mail. Pros Simple to set up and train user on how to use. Allows to set up all authenticator applications under it versus using different tools for different things. Cons Integrations sometimes are hard to set up. If you move to a new cell phone you have to set up all of your authenticator logins again.
