When I first found it, it was like winning the lottery. Everything I needed at my fingertips, and it was free... Amazing. Pros It has everything that you can imagine all in one place. Super simple to use even for a newbie. As a former ACT coach, it is amazing to find tools on Khan Academy that are geared toward that as well. With budgets the way that they are, because it is free, everyone has access to the wealth of information. Cons NOTHING! I cannot think of one con (Khan)! I have never needed something to either supplement or help a student with a gap in their knowledge that I could not find something on Khan. My students like it, and many of the questions are quite entertaining, which students love. Pros I love it because students get instant feedback when they miss a question. They can either watch a video or look at the step by step hints. Cons Some of the videos are long and have a lot of pauses, however, you can fast forward to the explanation. Between different lessons, different courses, as well as your profile, the structure of Khan Academy is quick to set up and move onto learning. Cons I didn’t enjoy using Khan Academy because the explanations sometimes felt too drawn out or too simplified, depending on the topic. At the same time, certain exercises seemed too repetitive. Pros Khan Academy offers a variety of courses in different disciplines which is something good for people who want to learn different things. I like that learning at Khan Academy is free and available for anyone. Also, Khan Academy offers quizzes and exams after each lesson to test my knowledge. Cons Khan Academy has few subtitles for the most talkative languages only. Khan Academy doesn't have any advanced courses. Most of the courses are offered for beginners. Daily MCQ content is good and dynamic. The best part is how they integrate the current portion of UPSC into the static portion which is quite helpful from a prelims point of view. Pros I like the approach the Khan Academy takes to its courses. Providing videos and walkthrus are great for the students. The test prep is especially helpful. Cons The content is a bit lacking. Core subjects are covered quite well but as a complete solution, it needs to add more elective content. Computer Science in particular is not a robust as it could be.
