Unhappiness, a feeling of being cheated. Deception. I was so happy that such good software had come from Turkey. But in business, they still have a typical Turkish mindset.

Pros

It's great that it does the job of other expensive software. Ideal for a small business. The fact that it's online makes it even better.

Cons

The support is very weak, they're incredibly stubborn. I didn't have a chance to test the burgundy module, I bought it and realized I'd been scammed because it didn't do anything it promised. I wanted to return it, but they wouldn't give me my money back. A whole year later, they shamelessly charged me for renewal. I asked for my money back again, but apparently the terms and conditions stated that I needed to cancel it. But strangely enough, there's no cancellation button. I was forced to cancel my credit card.

Our overall experience was disappointing. We purchased the Payroll module for our self-hosted Akaunting installation and encountered several issues right away. Despite reporting these bugs, the support team refused to acknowledge any fault and denied our refund request. We felt cornered by vague policies and poor customer care. The platform could be great, but the current business practices make it difficult to trust. We wouldn’t recommend Akaunting to other businesses unless transparency and customer support significantly improve.

Pros

The interface is modern and easy to navigate. The idea of having modular features and an open-source foundation is attractive for small businesses looking for customizable solutions.

Cons

The paid modules are often buggy and lack proper documentation. Support is unhelpful, especially when it comes to valid refund requests. The refund is misleading—once you download the on-premise module, you lose all rights to a refund, even if the module is broken or doesn’t perform as advertised.

Wave offers solid core accounting features for free, and while it's not perfect, it provides a more stable experience with better support and clear communication. We needed a platform we could trust, and Akaunting unfortunately failed to meet that standard.

We used this tool for nearly a year and had the rug pulled out from under our processes, customisations, and customer installations. After cancelling services/subscriptions -- charges kept coming... we were triple charged to our credit card for lapsed subscriptions (charge-backs resulted in FULL refunds from Visa -- but absolutely no joy from Akaunting).

Pros

Great promise, an attractive UI and good community ecosystem able to add features by additional subscriptions

Cons

Much used features were removed, broken, or migrated WITHOUT notice, communication, nor support. Their support team has been combative, abusive and unhelpful -- even making subscriptions inaccessible on a whim. This is a business critical tool -- stability, reliability, trust, and responsiveness are critical -- sadly, I have experienced NONE of these from the management or support team at Akaunting. Shameful behaviour.

Reasons for choosing Akaunting

Initially, Akaunting looked promising and served our needs. We spent a great deal of time customising and expense with add-on subscriptions to make product work well for us. Sadly, without notice -- "the (Akaunting) focus went in a different direction and your install is no longer supported -- or functional". I regret ever changing to Akaunting.

Pros

The integrations and premium cloud subscription set this product apart from other competitors.

Cons

There is some difficulty in self-hosting, though the premium cloud option negates the obstacles.

Pros

Everything about this software is great. It's very easy to get started with and easy to use and navigate. And what I like the most is that, it's open source and can be easily installed in my own hosting.

Cons

What I like the least is that they don't have all the features. And the addons they are costly even simple addons also sometimes.

Akaunting is a very easy to use software that offers a simple solution to income and expense reporting with the free version and can be built into a much stronger accounting solution with the purchase of additional modules.

Pros

\- Offers a basic version that is free - Can provide P&L information for Schedule C preparation - Lots of customizable modules depending on what you need

Cons

\- Adding multiple modules can be quite expensive - Limited options with free version

Overall, I am happy with the platform as it serves its' purpose for what I am using right now but unfortunately for the long run, I will move to a more advance and better platform such as Xero or Quickbooks.

Pros

FREE. I think this is the most User friendly FREE cloud accounting software. Easy to navigate and good enough for those who just wanted to track their finances.

Cons

Bankfeeds. There are no automatic feed from banks and most advance features are add on to the platform, thus it would be a big downfall as it could start adding up when you want to add additional features.

We were surprised for the features available, considering the investment needed. But, once you go deeper in the features and apps, some needs are missed. The system could have an option for premium support for new feature's development.

Pros

It has good features and flexibility for a very reasonable price.

Cons

Should have an "SuperAdmin" user option, to manage multiple companies inside the system. Inside Search feature is quite basic.

This accounting software is easy to use, you can start for free and upgrade from there which makes it the perfect solution for start ups.

Cons
