Deception. I was so happy that such good software had come from Turkey. But in business, they still have a typical Turkish mindset. Pros It's great that it does the job of other expensive software. Ideal for a small business. The fact that it's online makes it even better. Cons The support is very weak, they're incredibly stubborn. I didn't have a chance to test the burgundy module, I bought it and realized I'd been scammed because it didn't do anything it promised. I wanted to return it, but they wouldn't give me my money back. A whole year later, they shamelessly charged me for renewal. I asked for my money back again, but apparently the terms and conditions stated that I needed to cancel it. But strangely enough, there's no cancellation button. We purchased the Payroll module for our self-hosted Akaunting installation and encountered several issues right away. Despite reporting these bugs, the support team refused to acknowledge any fault and denied our refund request. We felt cornered by vague policies and poor customer care. The platform could be great, but the current business practices make it difficult to trust. We wouldn’t recommend Akaunting to other businesses unless transparency and customer support significantly improve. Pros The interface is modern and easy to navigate. The idea of having modular features and an open-source foundation is attractive for small businesses looking for customizable solutions. Cons The paid modules are often buggy and lack proper documentation. Support is unhelpful, especially when it comes to valid refund requests. The refund is misleading—once you download the on-premise module, you lose all rights to a refund, even if the module is broken or doesn’t perform as advertised. Switched from [Wave](https://www.capterra.com/p/178021/Wave-Apps/) After dealing with bugs in Akaunting's paid Payroll module and receiving no meaningful support or refund option, we decided to look for a more reliable and transparent solution. Wave offers solid core accounting features for free, and while it's not perfect, it provides a more stable experience with better support and clear communication. We needed a platform we could trust, and Akaunting unfortunately failed to meet that standard. After cancelling services/subscriptions -- charges kept coming... we were triple charged to our credit card for lapsed subscriptions (charge-backs resulted in FULL refunds from Visa -- but absolutely no joy from Akaunting). Pros Great promise, an attractive UI and good community ecosystem able to add features by additional subscriptions Cons Much used features were removed, broken, or migrated WITHOUT notice, communication, nor support. Their support team has been combative, abusive and unhelpful -- even making subscriptions inaccessible on a whim. This is a business critical tool -- stability, reliability, trust, and responsiveness are critical -- sadly, I have experienced NONE of these from the management or support team at Akaunting. We spent a great deal of time customising and expense with add-on subscriptions to make product work well for us. Sadly, without notice -- "the (Akaunting) focus went in a different direction and your install is no longer supported -- or functional". I regret ever changing to Akaunting. Pros FREE. I think this is the most User friendly FREE cloud accounting software. Easy to navigate and good enough for those who just wanted to track their finances. Cons Bankfeeds. There are no automatic feed from banks and most advance features are add on to the platform, thus it would be a big downfall as it could start adding up when you want to add additional features.
