Sometimes I feel the importance of Microsoft Edge because I often test websites from different browsers. This browser could be a good choice for those who use browsers for small needs. But a professional person or IT-Expert person will not like that browser because this software wasn't able to present itself as perfectly people want nowadays. Pros I like few things about this browser, using low memory of the CPU is one of them. It runs smoothly on the desktop even a low configuration PC can run it without any problem. I like how this browser manages tabs at the top, it allows me to check a tab preview in a good view. Another good thing is, it loads the web pages and sections on scroll smoothly with a little fade-in animation which is so satisfying. There is some common functionality this browser also has that I liked a lot but those features do not make Microsoft Edge unique, it's available on the other browsers in a more professional way. Cons The first thing is, I can't imagine that this browser is a different web browser software from Microsoft. When I use Microsoft Edge, It seems like I'm working with my Windows 10 settings. A browser should be unique, beautiful, and it should be developed with a special focus on users' requirements. There is no advanced type functionality on this browser whereas nowadays other browsers are well developed from all sides. I love the fact that Microsoft edge gives me the freedom of choosing the home page layout and background. It also allows me to personalize my news feed with the content I want to see. It comes with a cite this, and math solver feature as well which is quite cool in my opinion. Also for the private browsing part, the In-Private window does a good job too. Pros Microsoft Edge is a decent browser that provides a fast and smooth browsing experience to its users. It has a simple interface and comes with a lot of cool features as well like vertical tabs, performance, web capture, web select, etc. It also curates and displays the latest news, traffic, and weather updates which I personally like a lot. Microsoft Edge has improved a lot over the years and is a great alternative to Google Chrome. Cons Although Microsoft Edge is a great browser there are a few things I dislike about it. Firstly, it shows irrelevant ads with the news as soon as I open the browser which irks me a lot. There should be a way to completely remove these ads. It has a lot of useful features with allowing users to download Extensions which greatly opens its overall usefulness. It's not as heavy on computer memory as other browsers but at the same time it's not that huge of a difference. For people looking for a new web browser to use it might be worth giving Microsoft Edge a chance since it's free. Pros There are a couple of reasons why I use Microsoft Edge, and majority of the time I use it on my Microsoft Surface Pro rather than on my main computer. For one I've noticed that Edge doesn't seem to use as much memory on your computer than other browsers. That could potentially help with mobile devices and tablets using battery power as using less memory means the device isn't working as hard so there's less power being used. A great feature that Microsoft Edge has is Extensions. I have to wait for 3-4 seconds sometimes for a google search to display. Chrome also takes a lot of memory , my laptop always get to 90% memory usage when I used chrome. Edge is a lot better. Also a few sites, specifically local websites like governmental one that we use to file Taxes and Apply for Tenders don't work well with Edge as they do on Google Chrome, this normally forces me to switch to Chrome when accessing those specific websites. I use it when Google is crashing, but then it can crash too, like all browsers. The ability to sync everything I have in Google or Chrome is key for not only my personal use but business also! I will always use Microsoft edge as my backup browser but I also sometimes use only that for long periods of time, and do enjoy it! I am an expert at any browser use and this is, in fact, a great one. Pros They sure have changed. I could not stand it for the longest time. But they continue to improve and I love the sidebar where you can see so much at a glance. I think all browsers should offer that. Most do, but I think they offer a bit too much there and Edge's is perfect. Cons I think it is watching me in different ways than Google. Meaning, I sense there are more things they want me to do because they know what I do. Privacy is key and though they are known for great safety, I sometimes feel it is lax. Google know what you do and I am okay with that and all I note is perhaps ads related to my searches and interests but Edge seems to throw more at you and that is mainly why they are my second choice browser.
