I used chromium at its peak to customize my browser, it was a nice experience, I understand that programmers can like this browser, it is fast, powerful and customizable which is very useful to create new browser.

Pros

Chromium is the foundation of open source browsers, it's lightweight and fast, respects privacy and security, and allows you to customize your interface with a little coding.

Cons

The main problem comes from the very regular updates which can be annoying for people with a weak connection. Moreover, the contact with the customer service is mainly done on the forum which can be confusing.

Chromium project is baseline for other well known browsers like Chrome, Edge, Opera. The browser itself looks and works practically the same as Chrome. I can recommend it, but there is probably no benefit of switching from one of the above to the Chromium.

Pros

Open source project, little less bloated that popular Chrome browser.

Cons

It lacks some of the features well known from Chrome. It is also less stable and miss some of the non-free codecs.
